Madness at the Olympics Continues

We kick off this episode with a riveting blend of humor and horror as Anthony recounts his workday stories, using them as a springboard to tackle broader societal issues. Our discussion meanders through workplace mishaps, gender stereotypes in tech and driving, and the heated debate over gender segregation in sports.

Dare to question traditional views on gender roles in athletics? We do, diving headfirst into the complexities of mixed-gender competition and its impact on young athletes. We traverse history, from ancient gladiator games to controlled medieval sports, using these as lenses to scrutinize modern-day controversies. We debate the appropriateness of different sports for women and men, not shying away from hot topics like self-defense training and the immodesty concerns in dance. Our nuanced perspectives challenge the status quo, making you rethink everything you thought you knew about sports and morality.

As we pivot to matters of faith, we ponder the potential end of Western Christendom under the influence of Pope Francis. We dissect his controversial support of figures such as Father James Martin and explore the broader implications for Catholic moral theology. From immigration crises to family incentives and the future of the Catholic Church, our conversation is as wide-ranging as it is thought-provoking. Personal anecdotes bring these weighty topics down to earth, whether we’re discussing marriage therapy or the quirks of married life from a New York Italian perspective. Tune in for a candid, often humorous look at the intersection of faith, family, and modern societal shifts.

  1. A blogger I used to read called the current zeitgeist "SEXular paganism." I thought that was very apt.

  2. That's silly about there being men's only vs women's only sports. The US sole gold medalist in judo is a woman

  3. Re: best self-defense for women is to run away.

Body squats = strong legs = run fast

  4. I’ve always loved AB shows and they just keep getting better and better. Watched “live” yesterday and just watched it again because it was incredibly entertaining! 👍🙏❤️

  5. Just an FYI: Sex is determined by whether our reproductive organs are organized around the production of male gametes (sperm) or female gametes (ova). This is true 100% of the time. A person with XY chromosomes with Swyer Syndrome is female because her reproductive organs are organized around the production of ova. These women are usually infertile, but there have been cases where these women do become pregnant. A person is either male or female, never in between or neither. Disorders in sexual development do occur rarely, but the person will still have organs that are organized around the production of male or female gametes, even if they are unable to produce those gametes or their external reproductive organs are ambiguous.

  6. Hey if you’re still answering questions Nick, I’m curious if you’d be willing to make an In depth defense of the new rites of consecration being valid, I know the sspx podcast has covered this but I’ve heard responses to it and I think ultimately some of their coverage misses some important points. I’m an orthodox Christian and I regularly listen to debates on orthodoxy vs Catholicism and I’m very much on the fence and I’m taking my time with it. One of my objections to Catholicism is that if I were to become Catholic I would have serious doubt about the validity of the modern Catholic holy orders.

  7. Remember the declassified document about the US State department interference in papal elections? That was guided by the Holy Spirit?!

  8. Girls in more than rec league team sport is to far. Solo sports that women are geared toward can go further as long as it is understood that it can’t be a vocation.

  9. Chromosomes male = male. The anatomical defects are just that…defects. In need of surgery or somesuch.

Just like we would never say that a cancer cell is the true cell, we ideally would never say that an anatomical defect represents a person's "true" identity.

  10. So, does the convert tax apply to those who were never baptized until they converted, or just those who were baptized protestant?
