One criticism: your pronunciation of French wine names is not good- someone with your level of wine knowledge should really be better with this.

This happens to be a topic I’m exploring right now! Putting a 2nd wine from Bordeaux and Tuscany against each other. I have Duluc de Branaire Ducru vs Il Bruciato and am looking forward to the tasting!
I prefer Bordeaux and super Tuscans over new world. Although I haven’t had as much success with second label Bordeaux’s. If I’m choosing between a second label Bordeaux vs a first label (whether that’s old or new world) and it’s the same price, I take the first label
For me Bordeaux still reigns supreme. I also really like Argentinian Malbecs though.
I've heard the argument that first bottlings from smaller, "less prestigious" Bordeaux chateau are better than second or third bottlings from top Bordeaux houses. The reason given is that they are the flagship product and the smaller houses put 100%+ effort into their top wines, whereas second and third bottlings from top chateaux might not get as much attention and/or be made from lower quality fruit comparatively. Would be interesting to do a show on this topic

I am an equal opportunity wine drinker! Love drinking widely but if pushed, I still like a good Claret… I know it's very traditional, like I still like oak in my chardonnay! Maybe I am showing my age?
Would be interesting to taste Bordeaux seconds? I am always on the lookout for a good one.
My latest favourite is the La Dame de Montrose.
Great battle between France and Italy. I love Bordeaux and for sure great Italians. Good things happening in Bolgheri/Tuscany by example. This tasting screams for a another battle of Bordeaux style blends: California vs Australia. Or Chili vs South Africa.
