This episode I’m showing you what it’s like when friends call up and say they’re going to be at your house in a couple of hours and you want to cook a healthy delicious summer lunch during a heatwave while pregnant.

Every day I get so many emails and comments asking why you can’t locate the music I use or find it using Shazam. I purchase music licenses for almost all the music you hear in my videos. I buy them them from various royalty-free production music sites and most of the time they don’t list the performer because it’s music made only for film productions with an audio watermark throughout the entire track, unless you purchase the single-use license for $50-100 per track. I use a lot of opera so often I’ll reference the opera but I won’t be able to direct you to a recording of that specific performance that you could stream or buy on iTunes or Spotify. Hope that clears things up and thank you for appreciating quality music.

Thank you for watching. Appreciate everyone’s thoughts. Keep in mind these friends reciprocate and host all the time. As someone wrote below, it’s a cultural thing. Not every Italian is like this but many in Mediterranean (and Asian and Middle Eastern) cultures are. My Greek grandmother would often say a good Greek should always have something homemade ready to offer, even if guests show up completely unannounced. But I understand your comments come out of concern for my health. I’m fine, don’t worry. 😘😘😘
Wow phew well done. Take my hat off to you. 😮
Yes, please share Kylie! And yes, we can use our imagination of what a fun time it was! Sadly, it seems we are loosing touch with that these days. Just as you shared all the fun you had, I had been picturing it in my mind and it made me smile. Take good care!
Kylie, Watching you live life so vibrantly is beautiful. I love the heart and details you pour into creating a meal. You inspire me to really go all into projects around the home. Bless you❤
Thank you so much for these lovely recipes. Linda from Canada🩷
The most beautiful food in the world gets a gold metal 🥇
You have AC!!!
Bloody "Primo, secondo", like a bloody religion!
You can cook, work like a dog, Italians still will criticise…
Some kids are…"maleducati"!
Sei bellissima e bravissima!
Sorry – but two hours – you better bring a lot of side dishes , dessert and wine – or you’re not coming over and you better help set up and clean
Thank you for the very good recepies! It is not necessary to tell a (unbelievable) story.
I love your cooking videos 🩷 I set my table after breakfast or lunch depending on when guests are coming so I don’t have to think about it I also make salads the day before. This is after many many years of just learning what makes things easier 😊 Also, yes our husband’s can be annoying 😝
As a teacher it bothers me when children are allowed free reign over someone elses home. Kids need limits , parents need to set limits out of respect for someone who has invited the family to their home, and it would be wise for parents to bring their childs own toys from home to play with while they are visiting. Better yet, to discuss with the hostess where the children are to play in the home they are visiting. I guess I am not a fan of permissive parenting and lack of boundaries foor children.
Loved this so much!!! Would have loved to see you and your friends enjoying the meal and the barbecue but completely understand. Privacy is important and we have to protect our friendships.❤
Omg I saw myself running and sweating in the Roman summer, when my husband decide to host a bbq, is so stressful and exhausting for me. I am Brazilian and our version of bbq is generally easy and chill, really just meat, garlic bread and some bears so the women can chat and enjoy by the pool, but not here, no… they want bruschetta, pomodorini, verdure grigliate, brusche-salsicchia, insalata, fragole etc endless chopping of food over a excruciating heat 🤣 You're adorable as always! I follow you for several years now, since when I lived in Australia where i met my italian husband… Xx
I do not care what culture you are from but parents should be 100% responsible for their children's behavior at all times especially when being guests in someone else's home. From a Canadian.
God Bless you! I would have told the friends to reschedule.
Why does you like hosting people? It looks like it is stressing you out more than you enjoying it.
Kylie like everyone else who has commented on this video – your friends were seriously taking the pi&& on this day.
A pregnant lady with a toddler in a heatwave who’s just been in hospital making multiple dishes for a bunch of people who obviously are incredibly selfish! Regardless of culture or whatever there’s a level of thought that goes into any trip to a friends place and I think you need to be clearer on your personal boundaries and simply say NO!
Would they go to all of the effort for you??
I’m exhausted just watching this video.
Please take better care of yourself and be more careful with your time and energy!!
Kylie you are so inspiring & refreshing to me – I found some of these comments very amusing to read, all I could think about whilst watching this video was how creative & exciting you were, I’m an English girl but have grown up in a large family and community, it was very very normal for my grandma to cook for 20+ people on a Sunday & for my parents to invite visitors over unexpectedly after church, my husband and I have always risen to the challenge of hosting & working as a team, it is hard work but it is the most joyful & bountiful work to be able to offer someone a piece of your home, your food and time together, hospitality means: healing! And the western world certainly needs so much more of this type of healing 💜 with so much love as always!
If he has a high chair you could put him beside you with spoon and a metal bowl, whisk and a little water he can spill and it won’t matter in the heat or blunt childs knife and give him things to chop like herbs or vege scraps.
I am glad to hear you are feeling better. Take care of yourself, and all the best for a healthy and happy pregnancy. (Guido, your wife is a treasure).
That’s alot of prepping. Hubby bought a food processor which helps in prep. But in some cases I get the precise sizes 😂.
Im Hispanic and my brothers would call am to let mom they were coming for lunch or dinner.
Mom loved cooking had a passion for the kitchen, her way of showing how much she loved her family. But as she got older I had to remind her of her ability . She always had beans cooked and finally she started to my family she didn’t have much to offer but beans and tortillas!!
At some point we have to be modest in our hospitality.
Please can you share the recipe for the salsa I would love to have it and the way you described it it sounds very very healthy olive oil is a miracle oil don't be afraid to use it in abundance😊
Kylie you are way too tolerant….get rid of those rude friends… you are just simply way too nice❤
Your husband seems like a demanding jerk, you are pregnant for gods sake! I would never do this and my friends would never ask! So last minute
I love how Guido insisted Kylie sit while he “prepared” yogurt & nuts for her snack & then thought there weren’t enough courses and wanted a pasta course?!? Then he had no time to put zucchini on the same grill as the sausages! OMG. Yes, he had things he was doing but come on Guido…the extreme heat and your pregnant wife preparing this LAST MINUTE meal for “friends” with THREE children. Didn’t something similar happen last year when she was pregnant & had to prepare for company Guido invited? He is something else.
This was fantastic and a true representation of what it takes to pull together a wonderful meal, as a mama, for last minute guests….its stressful, yet wonderful! Thank you for another lovely video, Kylie
Holy mackerel!! I'm sure that they are good friends but to invite yourself to someone's house for a meal with only two hours notice is just rude. The extreme heat and the lure of your pool must have caused them to forget their manners.
However, you and Guido are champs in my book to pull off such a delicious feast with just your larder and garden!! Watching you prepare it in real time was wonderful, although I was worried that you had decided to prepare too much. Kudos to you both on your skills , and generosity!
A week before.
At least they showed up! Imagine it sweet Italian fashion they’d decided they do something else instead. All that preparation!
I hope Guido reads these comments and realizes he put too much pressure on his pregnant wife. Agrrr.
"sure come on over- pizza delivery on its way!"
Hubby telling you to sit and eat was firm but so caring ❤
