“1100” (MILLECENTO) is the Brunello di Montalcino “Riserva”, created by “Castiglion del Bosco” the “Massimo Ferragamo’s winery, based in Montalcino Tuscany.
The vintage 2010 is a wine rich of elegance, character, and persistence. A wine for the ages. The barrel aging emphasised the characteristics of the vintage, enhancing the Sangiovese aromas, wonderful balance, and superb tannins. A great acidity supports the superb aging potential.
The appellation is Brunello di Montalcino Riserva DOCG and, obviousily, is Sangiovese 100%
In soil profile we have presence of marl (Galestro) and elevation is 350-450 metres a.s.l.
Training system is Guyot, vineyard density 4,500 vines/ha, vineyard yield: 40 q/ha.
Vinification 22 days in stainless steel at 28°C
Maturation 36 months in French oak barrels and 24 months in bottle.
