#71 Unforgettable Tile Renovation Week in Piedmont, Italy

I did not know how long it would take. I hoped I could tile the groundfloor apartment in one week. Took me 5 days, so yes. An epic week of tiling. First I needed to finish some other tasks like grouting the pavement and pointing some steps and a small retainer wall. Beans I planted in April are ready for harvesting and will provide many good lunches and dinners. So most of the week it was about tiling the floor. Not really a 9-5 job, but waking up early and taking it until about 20:30 hours each day.

so no internet connection oh no gone. yeah even outside nothing So I think my beans are ready. Let’s take a look Oh they are ready. that’s going to be a lot of good lunches so I cut off the stems and I leave the roots in the ground because the roots are really great nitrogen fixers and then the small ones like these ones I can keep them dry them and put them back in the ground somewhere in October November nice it’s a Pity I don’t have my own Tomatoes this year, but there’s just limits to what you can do as person so next year will be different I plan to have a greenhouse and I already know where I’m going to build it and grow my veggies but that’s also a big project so it’s for next year this year I have to focus on building wow so nice if you can eat food from your own garden you just easy not easy well I guess it’s not that bad now open the door right a difference of um 3 cm yeah it’s not perfect it’s the walls that’s pretty big gap here the back is all right right well have some space course before I can start to tell I have to clean up oh yeah that’s going to take me a couple of hours and I made up my mind so it’s going to be diagonal and T shaped that can be moved inside and then the kitchen Parts can be moved into the laundry room right so the cabinets for the bathrooms upstairs they’re basically done from tomorrow I’ll start varnishing them and tomorrow morning I start to tile the apartment with the bathroom downstairs going to be uh a busy week so um time to take a swim even though it’s not that nice outside have a bit of a relax strange weather today this is actually when you are caught up in your job and you completely forget about making a video now it happens it happens a lot lately just forget to make videos so I started Plastering here I’m running out of these in fact I don’t have them anymore so I’m still have some glue left some adhesive so um you have to fall back to the old way I don’t know how they’re cold but got to get myself some tomorrow morning and there is so many so many cuts to make wow but current work space have a coffee break W so the color is dirty Ivory and uh I saw that uh the boxes are different sometimes it’s white sometimes a little bit more dark and in that situation I just open three boxes at the same time and I mix I take three towels each one from each all right that one is good let’s see without these things I don’t know how they call them in English in Italian Andi we have to fall back to the oldfashioned way for me it’s okay I used to do it like that so doesn’t really matter speed is going down a little bit. late already oh y 20, 227. Two American kids grown up in heartland B another angle yes or no that’s cut on all right all right all right so not bad time to stop then maybe tomorrow but tomorrow I have one two straight ones and then some Corners cut it’s a good start of day and bit of a clean up current situation Some Cuts are impossible like that one oh man for by far the most difficult part cuz I have to go arounds without losing the dimensions one 2 three not very easy I guess I can only say wow what an epic week apartment is St so tomorrow I will grout the floor takes a day for sure and since I’m on it and I’m in the mood of tiling immediately afterwards I have to tell this bathroom now it seems a lot of work but I think it’s the easiest one because we don’t have any separate walls so I will I hope so I hope it won’t take me that much time the floor is probably the nastiest part that’s for the next upcoming week and then after the bathroom I will Mount the kitchen so this apartment will be almost finished when the floor is grouted I can put the beds Mount the kitchen and well I found the lights that I had in mind and the orders are dripping in now so we started to U put the lights up even though I still have to paint on but again this apartment doesn’t have a lot of painting to do it’s all little pieces so the lights bed Light reading I really like this I noticed in my own apartment how nice it is to have a good bed light if you want to read in bed which I personally like a lot then I searched for a long time for a light here and I found this so this apartment is going to be a wood team one here and I have a small one here there’s one here I’m going to have two lights above the kitchen one for the living room the and then in this room I have the same I have the same one here and the above the bed oh those are pretty it’s funny you can search for days you search for days for a type of life that you’re looking for you don’t find anything and then suddenly it appears oh we should we have the bed lights too more and then finally I secured uh one week with a plumber so I have to finish uh these cabinets for the sinks and then we can mount all the bathrooms and finish the bathrooms upstairs they started to put the solar panels for the hot water and they are working on the central heating so probably will take them a couple of days to finish everything so it looks like uh sleep eat take a shower enjoy some food outside on a Terrace and be able to swim what else can you want all right solar panels mount it oh man so if they can fix the central heating we have warm water in a couple of days nice count down now all right ciao hope to see you again next week of course I’m cleaning up everywhere in the meantime I’m really happy with my towels in the apartment because I remember 3 months ago I actually it’s a series of four car and I chose uh the third color and then when I went when I went to place the order I looked at them again and I said no I want the lightest color and it looks a lot like Stone so it’s really I’m really happy that I chose that one it’s it’s very nice it’s it’s like stones great
