Chopped Italian Sliders
RECIPE COURTESY OF KARDEA BROWN
Level: Easy
Total: 40 min
Active: 40 min
Yield: 12 servings
Ingredients
4 ounces deli-sliced Genoa salami
4 ounces deli-sliced prosciutto
4 ounces deli-sliced smoked turkey
4 ounces deli-sliced pepperoni
4 ounces provolone
1 cup chopped Roma tomatoes
1 cup jarred banana pepper rings
1 1/2 cups chopped romaine lettuce
1 cup chopped red onion
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1 cup Kardea’s Homemade Italian Dressing, recipe follows
24 slider buns, split
Homemade Italian Dressing:
1/2 cup lemon juice (from about 2 lemons)
1/2 cup red wine vinegar
2 cups extra-virgin olive oil
1/2 cup grated Parmesan
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
2 teaspoons kosher salt
2 teaspoons granulated sugar
1 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
Directions
On a large cutting board, layer the deli meats and cheese, then give them a rough chop; you want bite-sized pieces of every item. Add on top the tomatoes, banana peppers, lettuce and red onion and chop the whole mixture together into bite-size pieces.
In a bowl, combine the mayonnaise with the Italian Dressing and mix together. Add the chopped ingredients to the bowl with the Dressing and toss together until everything is thoroughly coated.
Scoop about 1/4 cup mixture into each slider bun and serve.
Homemade Italian Dressing:
Yield: 3 1/2 cups
To a large mixing bowl, add the lemon juice and vinegar and whisk together. While continuously whisking, stream in the olive oil until the vinaigrette becomes a homogenous mixture. Add the Parmesan, mustard, salt, sugar, black pepper, garlic powder, Italian seasoning and red pepper flakes, then whisk until the dressing comes together. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.

Kardea Brown’s Chopped Italian Sliders | Delicious Miss Brown | Food Network
there’s a block party going on at Grandma’s house Grandma does not feel like cooking so I’m stepping in for her and bringing the food for the block party I thought it’d be really cool to make this trendy sandwich that’s all over social media it’s the chopped Italian sandwich it’s literally taking some of your favorite deli meats chopping it up with some cheese your toppings of choice adding an Italian dressing to it and literally putting that chopped salad onto bread all right so I’ve got some of my favorite deli meats I got some p some salami some smoked turkey pepperoni and of course provalone cheese all right so I’m going to give the meats a rough chop first then I have some toppings I’m using some of my favorite toppings for the sandwich I have some banana pepper some Tomatoes some onions and lettuce and the great thing about it is that you’re taking a little bit and stretching it because you’re chopping it down into little pieces I’m also making this into a slider now normally when you see this sandwich it’s usually served on like a hogy roll but because this is a block party there going to be a lot of people out there it’s just easier to put these on sliders okay and I’m just again giving my meat a rough chop and I’ve kind of already diced some of my veggies on top just to make it a little easier for myself this um sandwich reminds me so much of my days when I lived in New Jersey um South North and South Jersey um I would go to like the corner store in the neighborhood and get my sandwich um remember even living in um North Jersey and like this was my goto lunch every day for work was getting um a sub getting a bag of chips and a drink all right so I have some banana peppers here banana peppers are way more Tangier than hot you’re just getting a lot of that acid and vinegar some red onion some tomato and what I like to do is actually add my lettuce in once I mix it up cuz I don’t want my lettuce that get super super wilted all right and chop because these are going on sliders I I want this chopped cuz I don’t want those big pieces to kind of fall out of that slider bread all right that looks good to me nice and roughly chopped I’m going to take my meat and put it into this bowl right here the the trending videos is that you see people doing this like directly on their cutting board I don’t like that I think it’s a little messy so what I like to do is just chop up my Meats my veggies and my cheese on The Cutting Board and then put it into my bowl and make the salad in my Bowl I’m going to chop up my lettuce just a little bit more as well I have some Romain lettuce here again just giving it a rough chop actually going to push this to the side all right super simple dressing I have some mayo all I’m going to do is just add an Italian dressing that I love having in my fridge um I usually make it from scratch aboutt like a week or so ahead of time and just kind of have it hanging around for my salads and in this case for my sandwich it’s just like your standard Italian dressing some olive oil some Parmesan um some vinegar and spices like dried basil oregano and parsley I’m going to save a little bit of this for my next recipe I’m actually making a pasta salad with this Italian dressing all right mix it up and I’m going to toss that with my chopped Meats cheese veggies and lettuce so I’m adding Mayo to this because if you order a sub I have to have Mayo on my sub so I usually when I order my Subs I’ll get mayo and then once they put all of my toppings on it I usually ask for oil and vinegar on top so that’s basically what I’m doing with the salad that looks good okay all right now to this bowl I’m going to add my lettuce and that dressing just add a little bit at a time cuz I don’t want to make this super soggy okay give it a mix oh yeah that’s a chopped Italian salad wow all of the beautiful colors of the meats and the and the veggies and the lettuce that looks delicious before I add it to the Buns I’m just going to give it a taste wow that’s good the cured meats with this dressing oh my gosh that is wonderful all right eating and talking okay I’m going to clear my board up and grab my sliders I got some sliders here that I’ve kind of sliced down the center all right so I’m just going to take my chopped salad here and just add it to my bottom bun oh yeah this is definitely going to be a hit at the party and if you make it at home it’s going to be a hit at your party too and it’s kind of messy it’s supposed to be that I find that some of the messiest foods are the tastiest Foods add my top bun top it off and this dish is done all right the fun part take it apart oh yeah I’m just going to take a bite wow this is like everything you love in your standard sub but it’s in a bite-sized form and it’s chopped and it’s just un flavorful bite I know this is going to be a hit at the block party

That really looks delicious. Sliders are fun to eat.
I am a Penns Grove NJ girl
This is a perfect recipe for a kid's party.
No self respecting Italian would eat this
love it one of my favorites 😊 I would make it in to a panini version on grill, as well as extra cheese so delicious last time i did this one
That's great for Miss Kadera Brown ❤❤❤
That looks delicious 😋 ❤
10/10 would smash! 😜😜
EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW….gross
Did she chopped another boyfriend?
Looks delicious 😋
Looks delicious I'm trying this recipe
OMG i can not wait to make this!!
I like mayo and vinegar and oil on subs. The mayo helps insulate the bread from the vinegar and oil. I don't want soggy bread, but i do want vinegar and oil on the fillings. Don't eat subs as much as i used to, but a good deli sandwich is a treat to find.
What's the point? Just eat the salad. Also, she has dangerously incorrect knife skills.
Ms. Kardea is the quintessential queen of Southern cookonh, hands down she's the best indeed!
I always come back to see what you are doing. Ideas occur easier when you are having fun. thanks!
Ôi bạn gái xinh làm món ăn quá đỉnh mình đăng ký kênh và chúc bạn lời tốt đẹp nhất ❤❤❤❤❤

Keep seeing so many variations of this and they ALL look too good. This is going to have to go on the list. Thanks for the inspiration Miss Brown !
