what the arrows would do is they go into the mountains and they chop out blocks of ice and then they used it to keep food fresh and they used it for desserts the Persians the ancient Persians liked to take crushed ice and put fruit in it and they would eat the crushed ice and the fruit the Arabs thought what if we made syrup from the fruit the word syrup comes from the Arabic word Shad what if we made syrup from the fruit and then poured it onto the ice and they invented sorb which comes from the Arabic word sh and then later the Italians who had fallen madly in love with sorb and made all these different types of gelato went oh what would happen if you mix this with cream and that’s how ice cream was invented by three different civilizations over the centuries
