before the president is seen walking away and looking in another Direction Outlets uh claimed that uh he was sort of just aimlessly wandering away the clip amassed millions of views within just a few hours when actually he if you widen out you can see that he was talking to one of the members of the military that was participating in that uh demonstration disinformation the White House Press Secretary says it’s all a big rightwing cheap fake there there seems to be a sort of rash of videos that have been edited to make the president appear officially frail or mentally confused um I’m wondering if the the White House is especially worried about the fact that this this appears to be a u a pattern that we’re seeing more yeah we and I think you all have called this the cheap fakes video and that’s exactly what they are they are cheap fakes video uh they are done in bad faith uh and uh and some of your news organization uh have uh have been very clear have stressed that these right-wing uh the right-wing critics of the president have a credibility problem uh because of the fact Checkers have repeatedly caught them pushing misinformation disinformation and so we see this and this is something coming from from your your part of the world calling them cheap fakes and misinformation uh and uh I’ll quote The Washington Post where they wrote they wrote about this and they said how Republican use misleading videos to attack Biden in a 24-hour period and to their credit we have a conservative Washington examiner uh did call them out as well calling out the New York Post um ironically several several recent cheat fakes actually attacked the president for thanking troops for thanking troops that is what they’re attacking the president for both in Normandy this happened and again in Italy and uh I think that it tells you everything that we need to know about how um how desperate how desperate Republicans are here uh and uh instead of talking about the president’s performance in office and what I mean by that is his legislative wins what he’s been able to do for the American people across the country we’re seeing these deep fakes uh these manipulated videos uh and it is again done in bad faith but CBS says it’s fake and then they play what they say is the real one and they’re identical cheap fake Clips went viral on social media and were picked up by some never mind sorry where were these anti hoaxers when there was the fine people hoax the drinking bleach hoax the koi pod hoax the migrant kids in cages hoax the border patrol whipping migrants hoax the lab leak is a cons is a conspiracy theory hoax the Russian collusion hoax but don’t say gay Bill ho hoax did I leave it the P tape hoax where were they there’s a difference when we see something we black people living in the inner city because if you are black person living in the inner city with high school or less you’re competing against illegal aliens with very little education about a President Biden touts his re-election campaign is a fight to preserve democracy but if you ask some Trump supporters the former president is not a threat to democracy because the United States is not a democracy CNN’s donio Sullivan spoke to some of those supporters what happens if Trump loses I don’t see him losing I don’t think he lost the last election to be honest do you think he’s going to win yes without a doubt no doubt what if he doesn’t this time what happen to the country we in trou we’re done Biden talks about democracy you know saving democracy they’re the ones that are killing democracy obviously there’s a lot of criticisms of trump that he is bad for democracy that he’s bad for American democracy a republic we’re a republic reprentative Republic we’re not a democracy one thing we’ve been hearing at Trump rallies like this over the past few months is that America isn’t really a democracy America’s not a democracy it’s a republic it’s not a democracy okay democracy is actually not as good as you think it is but for centuries America has celebrated its democracy democracy is worth dying for democracy Remains the definition of political legitimacy but some Republicans and prot Trump media are pushing the idea that America is not a democracy the United States of America is not a democracy we are a constitutional republic United States of America is not a democracy you don’t want to be in a democracy we are not a democracy we are a republic is America a democracy America is a democracy it was founded as a democracy I’ve heard a lot of conspiracy theories I hear a lot of things out on the road but to hear Americans people who would describe themselves as Patriots say that America is not a democracy that stopped me in my tracks you are hearing people say America is not a democracy because there are people around Trump who want them to be saying that who’ve been planting that narrative is America a democracy I don’t I think we’re yeah we’re a republic what’s the difference I feel like democracy I think that’s true it’s government control I don’t see freedom in democracy I see Freedom the Republic honestly the word democracy and the word Republic have often been used interchangeably there isn’t a meaningful difference between them so much of the warnings and criticism about Trump is that he is a threat to democracy that he is anti-democratic absolutely if they can convince people that we don’t have a democracy then it’s okay that Trump is attacking democracy because it doesn’t really matter so why like why has democracy become a bad word because it’s being used in a way to change the flavor of our country which is a republic these words were used in different ways in the 18th century and it’s true the founders didn’t want Direct democracy by which they meant people gathering on the Town Square they wanted representative democracy but I think the reason why this conversation about language has risen now is because there is a part of the Republican party that would like to rule as a minority and they need an excuse for why that’s okay and so they have begun to say we’re not a democracy we’re a republic and it’s not 100% clear what that means but I think they mean we want Donald Trump to be able to do whatever he wants some people I been speaking to Trump events recently yes have been saying America is not a democracy it’s a republic we’ve always been in democracy first of all I mean we have we used to have freedom of speech freedom of religion we used to have that too now they’re picking on the Christians and the Jewish people I mean how how much more can we take are you concerned if Trump loses yeah that there’ll be another January 6 no I think there will be a civil war that’s what I think will happen and Omar look there is of course a legitimate debate discussion to be had on what form of democracy uh we have here in the United States direct democracy uh representative democracy in fact constitutional republic which you heard uh people mention in that piece that is a form of democracy but look this is not actually a a debate about government about democracy it’s an attack on Democracy uh people have heard uh the warnings that Trump is a danger to democracy H and therefore you have people trying to convince others that well the United States isn’t a democracy in the first place and therefore Trump can’t be a threat and if you really think that you’re stupid this is CNN the most trusted name in news okay K CNN article 4 section 4 of The Constitution and I’m quoting the United States shall guarantee to every state in this Union a republican form of government but to CNN accurately Calling America a republic is a quote threat to our democracy democracy is like two wolves and a lamb voting on what to eat for lunch but a republic is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote end of quote you know who said that CNN Alexander Hamilton one of the founding fathers although he was white so and we were all reciting the Pledge of Allegiance one day and he walked over this little old teacher Mr lasswell was his name Mr lasswell he says uh he says I’ve been listening to you boys and girls recite the Pledge of Allegiance all semester and it seems as though it’s becoming monotonous to you if I may may I recite it and try to explain to you the meaning of each word I me an individual a committee of one pledge dedicate all of my worldly Goods to give without self-pity Allegiance my love and my devotion to the flag our standard Oh Glory a symbol of country and to the Republic Republic a state in which Sovereign power is invested in representative chosen by the people to govern and government is the people and it’s from the people to the leaders not from the leaders to the people for which it stands one nation One Nation meaning so blessed by God indivisible incapable of being divided with Liberty which is freedom the the right of power to live one’s own life without threats fear or some sort of retaliation and Justice the principle or qualities of dealing fairly with others for all for all which means boys and girls it’s as much your country as it is mine and in case that went a little too fast for you CNN and to the Republic Republic a state in which Sovereign power is invested in representative chosen by the people to govern and government is the people and it’s from the people to the leaders not from the leaders to the people for which it stands this CNN pundit reacts to polls about Trump’s black support so where does the race stand African-American voters right now yeah I keep looking for this to change to go back to a historical norm and it’s simply put has not yet so this is the margin or Biden and Trump among black voters compared where we were at this point in 2020 compar where we are now you know at this point look at this in 20120 Joe Biden was getting 86% of the African-American vote look at where it is now it’s 70% that’s a 16-point drop John and more than that it’s not just that Joe Biden is losing ground it’s that Donald Trump is gaining ground you go from 7% single digits at this point in 2020 to now 20 1% and again John I keep looking for signs that this is going to go back to normal and I don’t see it yet in the polling of anything right now we’re caring towards a historic performance for Republican presidential candidate the likes of which we have not seen in six decades and when you dig into this number here what is the makeup of that number this is where we get very interesting so I decided to dive deeper into the cross tabs figure out where is it that Joe Biden is truly struggling among black voters all right so this is black voters Biden versus Trump margin look at black voters age 50 and older and you’ll see look Joe Biden one was leading amongst this group at this point by 83 points back in 2020 now it’s 74 points so yeah a slight decline in that margin but nothing out of this world look at black voters under the age of 50 holy cow folks holy cow look at this Joe Biden was up by 80 points among this group back at this point in 2020 look at where that margin has Caren down towards it’s now just get this 37 points that lead has dropped by more than half Mr Burman home I I I just never seen anything like this I’m like speechless because you always look at history and you go okay this is a historic moment if this polling is anywhere near correct we are looking at a historic moment right now where black voters under the age of 5050 which have historically been been such a big part of the democratic Coalition are leaving it in droves that is a huge drop over a 4-year period at least right now all right what’s the impact of third party candidacy here Robert Kennedy Jr yeah you know so all right so obviously we have third party candidates this year with the two major party candidates being so disliked all right so this is black voters Biden versus Trump for a Democratic candidate Donald Trump at 23% if we add Robert Kennedy Jr to this look what Joe Biden drops to less than half the vote among black voters less than half the vote among black voters in a Battleground sayat Donald Trump drops as well to 14% so not quite nearly as historic but look at this RFK with 11% you basically have a legitimate sort of three-way race here yeah Joel Biden well ahead but with less than 50% of the vote John I never thought I would see something like this among black FKS and for those questioning who Robert Kennedy would hurt more at least in these numbers in this measurement right here Biden loses 14 Trump loses nine so it’s clearly Joe Biden ex it’s exactly right it seems to me this is yes it’s partially a artifact of Donald Trump perhaps being better liked among black voters but it’s also a real artifact of Joe Biden being significantly less liked among black voters than he was four years ago looks like a lot of blacks ain’t really black right Joe considerations in making the work environments diverse and doing so coercively by placing burdens on employees to do so like the removal of bonus or termination that’s also a violation of title 7 I’m to expend this electorate to win the progressive Community needs to solidly be on the side of immigrants that will solidify and expand the progressive Coalition for the future we reform the immigration laws it puts 12 million people on the path to citizenship and eventually voters can you imagine if we have even the same ratio two out of three if we have 8 million new voters that care
