Established in 1900, E Pellicci – a charming, family-owned Italian restaurant in London’s East End – has seen off two World Wars, a global pandemic, and 125 years of flux in the city’s most chaotic neighborhood. We paid a visit to meet its current custodian Nevio Pellicci and the rest of his clan, who served us up some delicious Italian cuisine and an eyebrow-raising lesson in the art of staying alive when all around you eateries are going to the wall. From their famous full English breakfast to authentic cannelloni, there are plenty of reasons people have been going back to E Pellicci for generations.

  1. Was a treat for us occasionally on Sat give Mum day off Saturday, I went St. Judes❤ magic ✨ place

  2. Reading the comments here, most people say He speaks Italiana words, funny to me as an Italian that I never heard any Italian words from Him, but I can say He's surely Londoner

  3. Ah yes – an italian place, the most authentic English cuisine. ffs an entire city of ten million people and the fuckwits at munchies couldnt find an English place?- actually, in London that must be quite hard now lol

  4. I've known about this place via YT on Many different channels. How I wish I could go there. This place should be protected by Heritage England. Every time I see this place I marvel at the amazing woodwork interiors. Looks Deco to me.

  5. I wouldn’t trust her sense of taste at that age. No offense, but by that age the sense of taste declines, and elderly people tend to want more salt to compensate. It’s a real problem.

  6. The history is cool… but i don't get the hype had this twice 5-6 years ago. Food is bang average, but it's cheap tho.

  7. Pellicci's must have the best PR company in the game. Mini 'documentaries' like this have been done on them constantly for years and years, they're never out of the spotlight looooool

And no, before you ask I'm not hating, I'm just baffled that somewhere that's already famous because of social media is constantly being rammed down everyone's throats. Why not give someone else the same airtime?

  8. next after seeing this i booked a flight to london city airport hoping to be pleased in this place with cockney talks and italian dishes. ok: only joking, but… the most i like is the italian folks to keep on their adorable tradition and on their roots of italy even when grandma or grandpa left or they are kicked off in the european football contest. i love italy (even with meloni)!

  9. You guys really should try and do Di Lietos on Fleet Street on the Strand in London next. Family run, homemade sandwich shop that starts sharp at 6 and is active till 3 PM, creating the best sandwiches in the city. They’ve been around for over a century as well and I’ve stood in line for over 45 minutes at times to get a sandwich during the office rush hour. The sandwiches are heavenly, the best I’ve probably had in London, absolutely freshly made along with the freshest of cheeses and toppings. Never miss having them whenever I’m in London

  10. This video seems to me to be a publicity exercise on behalf of Pellicci's.

Other channels have documented the bizarre "Italian" food served here: a mound of "homemade" spaghetti with a sauce merely dumped on top of it, for example. (Not that the clueless English reviewer thought that this was anything but authentic).

  11. Gotta say, 2 minutes of this guy talking has done in my head… I would lose my blob if he came to my table while eating breakfast and started to chat me up for 10 minutes! (Thank G for the mute button.)

  12. school dinners in here every day late 60's with 'Nev' double chip and beans, but I am sure it was in the other cafe' you had next door

  13. Love the place, haven't been there in some time, but I remember his dad, a nice man.
I must take a trip back to Bethnal Green for a full English.

  14. I have seen about three or four videos on you tube about your special place it makes me wish I could go there

  15. My grandfather name was Pellicci and he came to the US around 1900. I will definitely stop by here when in London. They is a Pellicci Italian restaurant in Stamford Connecticut that has been they for over 60 years.

  16. My Family are From Bethnal Green I’m from Ireland I’ve been in that cafe a lot of times over the Years the carpentery work in it is Fantastic along with the food,
