hello this is Renee and Tom and I are on the ultimate World cruise we just docked in Rena Italy and we’re going to embark on a Scenic bus and boat trip to the historic city of Venice there were beaches on both sides of the pier first up we hop on a comfortable bus that takes us through the picturesque landscape of Italy from the Rolling Hills to the Charming Villages every view is a postcard it was [Music] amazing then we switch to a boat that carries us through the Serene Waters gradually revealing the historic skyline of Venice Venice the city of canals and romance founded over 1,500 years ago Venice became a powerful Maritime Republic dominating trade routes and amassing incredible [Music] wealth the iconic canals line with Renaissance and Gothic architecture tell Tales of vigon a when Venice was the heart of Commerce and culture once we got off the boat our guide met us for a guided walking tour as we stroll along the narrow alleys the canals of Venice guide our path [Music] these waterways have been the lifeblood of the city for Centuries with gondolas gracefully navigating their way through the Maze of channels [Music] [Music] Al making a guest appearance [Music] [Music] this iconic square is home to St Mark’s Basilica the Masterpiece of the Byzantine architecture with its stunning mosaics [Music] the clock was in Roman [Music] numerals the dois palace once the residence of rulers of Venice showcases the Grandeur of Venetian governance and [Music] Justice St Mark’s Basilica with its opulent mosaics and domes stands as a testament to venice’s wealth and Artistry after our guided tour we scouted out the rest of the city and found a gondola to ride throughout history gondolas have been more than just boats they’ve been a symbol of Venetian culture from transporting Nobles and Merchants to participating in ceremonies in regata today gondolas remain a beloved symbol of Venice they play a vital role in tourism offering visitors a unique perspective of the city about 20 million visitors visit Venice each year the gondola has a past dating back to the 11th century originally used for transportation by the wealthy early gondolas were more cumbersome and ornate reflecting the opulence of the Venetian Society one of the most distinctive features of the gondola is its asymmetrical design slightly curved to the right this allows the Gonda AER to row with a single ore from the starboard side efficiently navigating the narrow canals Venice has experienced several significant floods two notable incidences occurred one in 1966 and the other one in November of 2019 in 1966 the flood reached a record high of 6.4 ft above standard sea level in 2019 it Rose to 6.1 ft above standard sea level this is the West facade of the Santa Maria fosa or formerly known as the Church of the purification of it was built in [Music] [Music] 1492 this is the house that Marco Polo lived in [Music] this church is one of the oldest churches in the city over 900 years old this is the house that kasanova owned and he was born in 1725 and is one of the most famous figures in the 18th century casanova’s life was a tapestry of Daring escapades and romantic entanglements from his daring escape from the famous lead’s prison to his role as a spy for Venice we finished up our gondola ride and headed back to the boat but first we stopped for some local Cuisine Pizza From Italy as we took the boat ride back to the bus we got to look at the Venetian Skyline one more time and once we got on the bus we passed the train going back to Rena real arve just in time for the fork loric series for Rena [Music] Italy and after the show Cruise director Micha signed off and cruise director Joff is coming back yes ladies and gentlemen I just want to say thank you very much I I never thought that I would say that I would miss our guests but but it is true it is true normally on a regular 7-Day Cruise you don’t have time to bond to connect with the guest like I did in these three months so thank you very much every wel because Rena was an overnight stay the next day we went into town it was a 15-minute bus ride from the [Music] port as we start walking the town the first store I see is a Lego store [Music] [Music] this Tower was leaning pretty good we found a McDonald’s in Rena we stopped here for a quick bite and then we stopped and got some more Italian pizza we took the bus back to the ship since we’ve gone around Africa the ship was very empty with 700 and some passengers and today we’re going to welcome a total of 230 passengers since we’ve left Miami we’ve traveled 57,4 2.71 nautical miles make sure to like subscribe and ring that Bell for more Adventures from every corner of the globe see you at the next port [Music] [Music]

    I loved Nice and Monte Carlo the best on our Mediterranean cruise 🚢
