bonda and welcome back my hungry Amigos this is alav appetites and I’m Portuguese [Music] Jimmy we sat here on an absolutely beautiful spring day here in the marina at vura this is where you see the super yachts and the supercars and The Beautiful People um it’s a beautiful place to come and sit and enjoy a bit of the granders in life but it doesn’t really as a place represent true Portugal so we’re here as I mentioned down the marina at NOA Italia which is an Italian restaurant I think they have a chain um I’ll uh put some information on screen now so yeah typical Italian cuisine here so we have pizzas we have pastas uh and let’s find out what it’s like we haven’t reviewed an Italian restaurant yet so this will be our first no bother thank you very much what’s your name H paa paa I’m Jim this is Liam nice to see you nice to see you paa we’re doing a little video today so hopefully uh you don’t uh you’re don’t camera shy okay thank you we’ve uh decided what we’re going to order and we’re going to order two starters and two main courses hey Paula yeah I think we’re ready so for uh to start we’re going to have the mushrooms I’ve lost them now where are they now yeah now now f um and the CPR capr so to start and and then uh we’ll have the cardal pizza and the uh uh good choice yes yeah you like good good good thank you you’re so that’s his place our food order and let’s see how quickly it comes if it’s nice and hot and the quality of the food when it arrives a Portuguese friend of mine has an opinion that you can either have good food or a good view you can’t have both so let’s see if no solo Italia is the exception to that rule because I can tell you we certainly have beautiful views here yeah hola hi it’s me yeah that’s great thank you just yes just in the middle here we’ll we’ll share that’s thank you that looks delicious and this is our starters arrived we have our caprisi salad and the mushrooms the salad first of all we have some lettuce some shredded carrots tomato mozzarella and then a uh drizzle of pesto and then the mushrooms also served with lettuce and carrot and then we have the mushrooms which are uh baked with cream cheese so let’s try it out shall we I think I fancy a mushroom first and let’s also grab a couple of pieces of the tomato and mozzarella and I’ll grab some of this Pasto as well and just put that on here and why not grab some of the oops some of the garnish as well so here we go [Music] uh look in mushrooms all adore mushrooms they’re one of my favorite food so this is a nice take on them as I say it’s a a simple dish uh just cream cheese with uh mushroom there but again tastes very fresh it’s nice and hot so another bite here of these rather delicious mushrooms so zero complaints there um well cooked fresh ingredients and really tasty so it’s a thumbs up for the mushrooms so that’s now move on to oury salad again for my palette little bit of salt on there and I’m also big fan of balsamic vinegar so I’m going to have see the cameraman there opting for olive oil which could be a really good good uh Choice with this uh this salad Sal veger goes well this it’s well so what can I say about the Sal well it’s kind of as you’d expect but it’s fresh tasty nicely presented so again I think it’s a thumbs up for me for the capric salad so that’s all we’ve uh now finished our starter thumbs up all around the starter we finished the starter thank you my friend ready for the main course uh we are ready for the main course thank you very much very nice now let’s wait and see what our pasta and our pizza like and here here she comes yes and just just put it all in yeah yeah we’ll just uh one that’s great perfect thank you would you like prise on Cheers uh yes I think and you heard there Paula um offering us parmesan cheese for a meal who doesn’t like parmesan cheese the main courses with the camera Liam’s choice I think he’s made a good choice unusual looking pizza but uh looks very good looks very traditional and now um a very generous serving of Parmesan cheese which the lovely paa has just brought for us so um first impressions yeah as I was saying the it’s quite an unusual Pizza that Liam’s chose it is definitely meat heavy and the tagl telli again looks fantastic so let’s get stuck in so I’ll try the pizza first so here you can see loaded with various different Meats I’m going to take another bit so and a little sprinkling on the pasta also for when we come to that I don’t know what the rules are I’ve been to New Jersey and New York and had pizza and if you don’t eat pizza with your hand they are mortally embarrassed so my American friends out there you can confirm but the done thing in New Jersey at least is you use your fingers very nice um that pepper again like the other course I think could do with a bit of [Music] seasoning so let’s try that again about salt and [Music] pepper really tasty I think because we’ve gone for a pizza that’s a little unusual let’s say I didn’t quite know what to expect hasn’t got the strongest flavors but it’s it’s really good had a little side discussion with the cameraman Liam um we both think it’s delicious but maybe just a little bit too much chicken the chicken is kind of dominating the the flavor I think it could be the balance could have been a bit better maybe a bit more H bit more mushrooms bit less [Music] chicken the pizza base as you can see though it’s really nice turn this around so you see this a real kind of traditional oven baked pulls apart crisp on the outside soft in the midle really good that is a really good pizza base Okay so we’ve already demolished half of that pizza so let’s move on to our Tagle ta there’s plenty of uh some mushrooms you had yeah musroom and bacon I yeah plenty of mushrooms in there Liam continues demolishing the pizza I’m going to move on to my pasta let’s get a generous scoop here it’s obviously s very hot because we’ve been 10 minutes eating a know 5 minutes eating our pizza still lovely and warm um yeah and again and a perfect blend of these different flavors so let say we have the mushrooms in here which are thinly thinly sliced and kind of slices also here of bacon uh let’s try that [Music] bacon so a couple of things to comment on um as I mentioned earlier the service has been really good uh we haven’t had any problems getting the attention of our server um uh even as the restaurant’s getting busier now she’s been very attentive the other thing is the portion size here is pretty generous so Liam and I have decided that we’re beat there’s one piece of pizza left and a couple of mouthfuls of uh of the past no we’re finished thank you yeah and if we could have uh two coffees two espressos and then we can have our bill we’ll be done so we’ve ordered as always our um espressos to finish the meal coffee thank you yes please yeah it’s for us so we were we were talking do you know uh what type of coffee what what noo oh no no no this uh no no they uh you know how you have uh lavaza or Delta or B I don’t know uh one moment okay I’m interested let me see yeah yeah thank you Delta okay we wondered being an Italian restaurant whether you would serve Italian coffee but Delta is Portuguese yeah it’s very good it’s very good it’s very good yeah yeah so there you have it an Italian restaurant serving Portuguese coffee and there’s nothing wrong with Delta coffee looks like a nice really nice Cofe coffee actually let’s try it impressed when they came down it’s funny how you can have the same coffee at different restaurants and it tastes different that’s a really nice cup of coffee Delta coffee a taste of paradise thank you and for the tips you thank you byebye [Music] so 68 yeah well 68 70 34 ahead for lunch we had I suppose well we had two starters two main courses I think that’s quite expensive yeah so what I’ve decided to do today rather than the usual thing of showing you my ugly mug talking about the restaurant we’ve just eaten in we’re at such a beautiful location with some fancy yachts beautiful surroundings I thought we would just show some b-roll as I go over our experience at no solo Italia here in the marina at vura so the high points um the food was generally pretty good uh the starters were definitely excellent we had no no complaints with that pasta was delicious the pizza well do you know we ordered from their special recommended menu item for the pizza and to me it just wasn’t the best the crust was really good but the actual toppings we didn’t feel that the flavors were balanced very well it was too much chicken and yeah just a little bit un uninspiring was it terrible absolutely not it was fine so moving on this the local obviously would be a 10 out of 10 it’s lovely here um now the service because when we first walked 10 the service was really good the waitress was really attentive um when we ordered our coffees I had asked the wait to then for our bill now it’s possible there was a language barrier and a misunderstanding he certainly didn’t make us aware that we had to go into the the main part to the the building and pay inside so we ended up sitting there for 20 minutes which is a little frustrating so the service again it was fine it was acceptable it wasn’t fantastic so would I recommend no solo Italia yeah I think I would I mean it’s yeah it’s it’s a good restaurant um if somewhat pricey so that brings us on to the Jimmy score no solo Italia your Jimmy score is 6.5 which is a solid good score not very good not excellent but it’s fine so guys until the next time I’ve It was lovely to see such happy & beautiful waiting staff such as Paula as that would entice me to dine in places like that alone!
However I don't think I'd dine there with such high pricing as I love discovering culinary bargains, unless it was a special occasion & I'd expect the grub to be exceptional.
