Investments. It’s all about stability really. I like to invest in something that I’m passionate about that gives me a good increase of my income and that’s what I’m looking for. I have a busy schedule as a footballer. I don’t have time to be an expert in every area I have nine people around me. A dedicated team with everything from my diet to my investments. Why did you start investing in wine? It for sure tastes better than other investments like stocks. It’s something that has a good history that last many years. and I started out with a few bottles and now I have a more diverse portfolio. I’m a perfectionist – If I had to say it myself. There’s so little that separates the good players from the best players and I always try to see, where I can optimize and maximize my performance. Especially in the Premier League, where there are so many good players. I think that’s something that I always try to achieve. Any advice for people that are considering investing in wine? My best advice is to always surround you with people that’s the experts in the different areas. in this case wine. I think I’m now with the experts. So that’s my best advice. So, everyone has a journey and a story, when it comes to investment. What was your story for investing in wine? I always liked wine since I went to France. and also, when I played in Italy actually, I started to be more passionate about it. And I’ve heard about RareWine Invest through different colleagues and seen it on on different socials and stuff. I really like what they do and after having conversation with them, they really attracted me to their investments. The most important is my family. And I always want to build a good future for them. I want to take care of them the best way possible and that’s really my goal. That’s what I’m striving for every day. To make sure they have everything they need. And going back to the wine. What is your favorite wine? I don’t have a specific favorite wine but I like Burgundy. That’s what I mostly drink. That’s what I think is always a winner in my eyes. It’s easy to drink – there are so many good bottles. Which of your teammates has the best wine collection? I think Joakim Mæhle has the best wine collection. It’s not because I know exactly what he has but I just know he has some really good bottles – as long as it’s not his own. Has there ever been a wine that you wish you had tried or a wine that you’ve seen that you really want to try? Yes, I think everyone wants to try Romanée-Conti. It’s an expensive wine. But maybe one day, I’ll be lucky to try it. Would you consider yourself a wine connoisseur? No I wouldn’t consider myself a wine connoisseur but I know what I like. For me, that’s the most important. It’s not because I have a specific wish to know everything about wine. I just like to know what’s the basics. So we’ve had a look at your Instagram, and we had a look at your socials and you look like a man about town in London. How do you enjoy living in London? I love living in London. There’s so much to do here. I love the restaurants. I love the coffee shops. I love just strolling around and have a look at people and that’s something I really enjoy. You’ve played in France and you’ve played in Italy. Who are more passionate about wine? The French or the Italians? I think they will both say themselves. Now, I like more Burgundy wine. I would have to say France. I lived in Lyon, and they have some good wine there as well. So yes, I like France. So, you’re an elite athlete. You are playing in what many describe to be the best league in the world. Is there a lot of wine drinking amongst Premier League players? I don’t know if there’s a lot. I think sometimes the players like to have a glass when they go out for dinner or doing something fun together. I can’t see any harm in that and my experience is that that people likes to enjoy themselves here and now and again. So, of course you can have a glass sometimes. You said, which one of your teammates has the best wine collection but which one of your teammates has the worst taste in wine? I just went for dinner with the team the other day, and Will Hughes ordered a really bad Italian wine. It was not my taste, so I need to say him.
