We took this yacht from Venice to a little island called Venezia.
where the Murano glass company is located.
Murano glass is the craftsmanship is unparalleled. The 150 objects in the SAAM show, covering the years 1860 to 1915, highlight what American collectors of the time considered excellent. They valued complexity, color variety, lightness, and delicacy in their collections. Interestingly, if you define ‘excellence’ as durability, then Murano glass wouldn’t make the cut.
