The night before the soft opening we joined Joe and his staff for the Secrets of Palazzo Ristorante Revealed… We sampled the parmiagiana di melazane (baked eggplant parmesan) at this Italian casual dining restaurant.
Restaurant patrons from near and far enjoyed the light menu at Palazzo Ristorante, located at 2780 Hamburg Street, in Rotterdam, NY… After a long wait, Joe and his staff are open and ready to serve #italianfood for #travelandfood and the #taste518 area.
If you are looking to enjoy some of the best Italian food in Schenectady then you have to dine at this former Cusato’s pizza owner’s new Italian ristorante opening for the light menu, wine bar, martini bar, and espresso bar in Schenectady—not just for the eggplant parmesan—the Penne Alla Vodka, and Chicken Francese we tasted the night before were equally excellent.
I could not resist ordering the Steak and Gorgonzola Salad for lunch at this Italian ristorante opening—a grilled 6-ounce top sirloin tender steak seared perfectly and sliced—served over their house salad with your choice of dressing and creamy and earthy Gorgonzola (Italian bleu) cheese ($17)… I chose the Creamy Italian dressing on the side… The salad was delizioso.
My Lombardi family lady enjoyed the ANTIPASTO—assorted Italian cured meats of salami, pepperoni, sweet capicola, assorted cheeses, pepperoncini, olives, roasted tomatoes, and house-marinated artichokes ($13)… We took the leftovers home to eat later for dinner with Parmigiana di Melazane (Eggplant Parmesan) made by Mama Modesta of Lagioia Deli.

all right so I’m here with Lynn and Mel at The Palazo Restaurante here for their soft opening light menu what did you order folks I have uh crispy chicken wings and he’s having mac and cheese bites zucchini zucchini blossoms zucchini blossoms and Greens and Beans oh Greens and Beans what a classic classic now do you live local gildin gildin see made a little trip over here today for we’re we’re on this side of ilder oh okay so you’re you’re not too far from here well you’re a beautiful couple than and I want to just thank you for the time oh yes enjoy your enjoy your lunch thank you at the murals the tow work that’s been done here as you can see this nice elongated bar so Joe tell me about this room here this is the grot room I wouldn’t say the gr room but this was Joe geloso’s banquet room and have I taken it and I converted it into the palatos dining room nice not fine dining but nice casual dining casual dining yeah well that’s what we want short so someone wants to come with a button- down shirt or if they want a dress to impress whatever they feel is up for game so we can fit 100 people and we also can convert the room into Banquets baby showers graduations stuff like that 50th birthday parties and you know the elegant you know an elegant entrance way yeah I I I filmed that that’s that’s it’s just beautiful what you’ve done with and this here this is is this Thea Northern Italy north of Rome north of Rome about 30 mil away from Florence now who was the this actually the artist is Joe and drone and he did all all sorts of uh all sorts of work for me here this is beautiful work here I love the fact that you kept this paway open here through the archers S no it gives you one you could gives you natural light and you can also see what’s going on the other side just a different look look but when you go out to the lounge that Lounge experiences different look than the dining room it does and then when you have the pillars there with the uh the it’s like its own high top yeah the design of that you’re amazing in the way that you do your places that took a long time pieces of cocktails Night by Night drawing sketching hold on one second D and you did it in here too so if you were having a cocktail party you folks I want to show you what he did so look at this look at this sculpture in in the design here so let’s say you have a a a cocktail event here or a a VIP event each person instead of having the high top portable tables they could actually move the tables back you could stand you could rest your drinks and your little uh cocktail plates your or derve plates you can set an or derve stationer and everybody can stand around without having to hold hold their cocktails and their ores in their hands correct you did a great job at this place man I got to tell you brother thank you I won’t tell you that we’re actually related by by marriage but uh you know these things work out sometimes sometimes they don’t right how’s Frank doing anyways Frank’s doing good Frank’s doing really good you know what the big thing was people were like when are you going to open when are you going to open yeah Rome wasn’t built in a day nor was the patoo there you go and and guess what it’s always about cqi continuous quality improvement that’s what you’ve been about with the with the kusada restaurants and everything else you guys keep as a family keep improving your businesses no and that’s the objective the thing is it’s the customers though the food’s not right at this stage the soft opening which we’re doing today that’s it work out the Kinks the next few weeks exactly exactly work out the Kinks here it is today the 13th of June Antonio and we’re talking about folks the third week of July is really where that time is going to be where you know that’s that’s the air mark man you sit outside enjoy and then the Bands Will Come shortly after that y that start at the end of July um the bands inside the bands outside on Friday it’s going to be great you can’t go wrong with that it’s going to be great grab a cocktails sit down relax enjoy the patio it’s going to be there you go Dave juppi you have come a long way this is now the flagship of the the flagship Family Restaurant here right on Hamburg Street you mentioned the cados you know we got the store there in East Green Bush Pete cassado and the family you got Cosmo and Western and quail now running I see that that’s he’s been doing good job over there man phenomenal that Colossal Pizza is unbeatable yeah yeah well Pizza is going to be the secondary thing here is not the primary no no we have tons of Entre Entre and um I got to give you a menu yes we’re going to get some inserts cuz last night you and I tasted the uh the eggplant eggplant the uh the penny alaka correct and then chicken parm FR and yeah and then and I’ll tell you they did a really great job those dishes so it’s just a matter of like you know like you said working out the Kinks and uh you know and look at this you had a nice crowd for a your first day yeah soft opening absolutely all you had to do is just put a little word out and they’re already here people were in here actually calling their relatives to come meet them wow after sitting down that’s perfect that’s what we again we’re not overburdened yeah right gives the staff a chance to get use and acclimated with the kitchen with POS and then also gives the public an ideas what the hell has Joe been doing over there for several years you know how many people up at the cigar Louge always are like what’s he doing what’s he doing I said don’t worry about it I said you guys will be able to do events so Mr Croco from auy from school all the old days take care of this guy he takes care everybody else yes I thank you you what is this this is the anti py that looks delicious he sure does your gorgona oh this Gorgon steak and gorgona I’m GNA have to take my time with that that is a beautiful looking salad look over here I’ve got my uh my hot chili flakes and uh dressing and all right it’s time to dig in to these plakes it is yeah yeah I got a salad fork but I’m probably going to use the dinner Fork this is an entree type salad but look at the beautiful beautiful sear on that right there and look at the brothers here that are back here on the line what’s your names ABA Elon and Elon that’s what I mean Elon both Elon
