and Grand entertainment you’re watching homeworthy where we believe every home has a story hi homeworthy I’m kumara WL coxen with mettier misson and today I’m going to show you this truly remarkable property in Austin Texas it’s on the market for just under1 18 million it’s over $10,000 Square ft I cannot wait to show you around come on [Music] in welcome to this one of aind Terry Town estate I cannot wait to show you around this home is truly remarkable and so thoughtful in design it has so many oldw world touches and textures and detail that you’ll see throughout the tour the home is over 10,000 square ft it features six bedrooms nine bathrooms it has a underground wine Celler which is the most incredible part of the house a heated pool in Spa a whole separate guest house and so much more the home is on the market for just under 188 million it is rare to ever get a chance to tour a home like this and so let’s start here this is the grand formal entry and there’s nothing better than a grand formal entry with 25t ceilings The Soaring ceilings and the Venetian plaster walls set the tone for such an incredible home there’s lacquered terracotta floors a proper place to put a grand piano and this is truly where you can greet your guests and entertain this formal entryway transitions us beautifully to this room this is my favorite room in the house um it’s a perfect formal living space you have these gorgeous wide plank reclaimed hardwood floors from a barn in Louisiana that really sets the tone to this sort of oldw world look you have um imported fireplace details from Europe some of them are from France Italy Spain and you have this sort of like Spanish influence of this California Henda style home these fixtures are imported from Spain and the mirrors as well in Italy and you have doors over here that are also made of reclaimed wood and you have just such a grand space this is one of the few homes that I have been to multiple parties at where people actually really gather and live in this formal living space most of the time you see people living off the kitchen and entertaining off the kitchen and again this is one of my favorite homes because it’s a it’s a home where you actually use every space And We Gather in this room when they entertain and it’s it brings everyone together in this beautiful formal living space this room has custom steel windows and doors and light pouring in from all sides this is the front of the house and you see the light just pouring in with this beautiful Lush native landscape in the background you have 20ft ceilings and then doors that open up onto this incredible back patio this home is so intentional and every detail was thought through there’s a beautiful bar in this formal living space which I find is really valuable when you have a a formal living space to really keep everyone in the space so they don’t gravitate towards the kitchen this bar has everything you need and imported doors from Europe but I find that when this home entertains it’s really the reason why everyone gathers in this formal living space because you have everything you need here along with these beautiful custom steel doors that open to this back patio which is just one of the many spaces to entertain this home has so many different outdoor entertaining spaces this space is right off the formal living room and it’s really ATI beautiful area to sneak away and have an intimate conversation or time alone around the fireplace you can see the floors there this beautiful custom terracotta tile these are actually the same floors that you saw in the formal living space except for there they painted them with a black lacquer to give it a different look I love how you have sort of contiguous materials throughout but in different textures and in oldw World ways the stco is actually called la stco and I love it it’s my favorite kind of stco because the color is in the stco and it’s more of a plaster way and so it has this oldw world look like a plaster kind of stone where you see the movement you never paint this stucco it’s imp pigmented inside the stco and so it has this beautiful like way that it kind of patinas and and looks like old world with a modern influence off this patio space is an outdoor entertaining area the owners have actually turfed this area so that you can put pillows and blankets and cushions and use it as another Outdoor Experience to really kind of live and entertain separate from the pool behind the turf you’ll see this native Lush landscape that sort of just gives it an organic blend with these um cut limestone steps that have this organic look that go perfectly with the exterior of the home let’s head back inside there’s so much more for you to see follow me off the formal living space is the best kept secret of this home you can see the wood beams carry onto the space but this is a cozy intimate living experience I call it a lounge or the record room I think every good home needs a record room a place where you can sneak off and play an old record you can see his vinyl set up here you have a beautiful fireplace you have this sort of intimate setting can you imagine it being the most fabulous Library you can add more shelves and have all your books come and read a book or have a glass of wine at night the current owner also uses it as an office and you can kind of see this separate office space off this lounge and the lounge spills out to all these beautiful outdoor entertaining areas so it really serves as a beautiful intimate living experience let’s go take a look at the dining room next follow me Oh but before we get to the dining room I have to show you these incredible imported doors this is the powder bath and look at the detail on these imported doors from Europe I love this powder bath because it’s a proper Vesti before you get to the water closet it’s really how every powder bath should be designed look at this formal dining space I love a formal dining with a beautiful large round table so you can really speak to the person next to you and across from you it makes for such a better setting this room has a gorgeous fireplace it’s an intimate room but has lots of natural light and it just feels Grand and spacious and really inviting not to mention this gorgeous light fixture this table seats 10 people but it also expands and you could easily seat 12 to 14 to 16 people in here which is great for the holidays and for entertaining I love every detail of this home you can see these sort of oval-shaped Windows which bring in light from the sky and you kind of see the maples peeping through you have dark ceilings which kind of brings the intimacy into the room and makes you feel really comfortable and cozy it also you know brings in all the wood beams from the other spaces in the home this home is one of the the most grand homes for entertaining because you have so much square footage on this main level which is really rare the home is over 10,000 square fet but again so much of that square footage is on this main level so you can entertain flow walk through the foyer space from the formal to the living really easily now let’s go check out the kitchen it’s the heart of the home and really fabulous here here we are in the kitchen isn’t this fabulous it has this gorgeous Island made of out of Kolkata gold marble the marbles honed which gives it such an earthy Timeless look everything from the Shaw’s original sink to Wolf range Subzero melee dishwashers it’s really a gourmet kitchen and an Entertainer’s dream you have refrigeration drawers ice maker you have this beautiful pantry and sort of separate bar area off the kitchen as well reclaimed hardwood floors are brought back into the kitchen and just tons of streaming L natural light flowing through the space the kitchen opens up to this incredible family room this is such a beautiful casual space to live entertain you have a second dining experience here that’s a more casual dining for breakfast lunch and dinner a beautiful fireplace and again so so many details these are also imported from Europe just the details of all the textures and the Old World Experience really makes you look at everything in this house even just the detailed grates on the ceiling where the air returns are every everything is Flawless and perfectly executed I see this as really The Hub of the home it offers the open concept that everyone wants especially families where you can cook eat live kind of this is your daily space but it offers so much natural light you can see the Flor to ceiling steel glass windows and doors and these spill out to the most fabulous pool area an additional covered patio space this is the everyday Pool Patio space it’s off the family room it’s this beautiful oversiz Terrace it’s covered it has the grill it has this banket where you get these windows open and your Chef or your someone can serve you the food and set it out here it’s really a fabulous space to live daily you have your TV you can entertain and live you also have what’s called a Big Ass Fan I’m not just saying that I don’t know if you’ve ever heard of the brand but it is the brand that’s known to really work and they say that it’s as if it’s like 20° cooler in the space when when this thing runs and remember remember I mentioned there’s so many different spaces in this home this is the pool area and I love this pool because it’s really Blends into the Earth they’ve used this organic cut Limestone with raw edges it’s oversized it’s heated you have a hot tub off the pool above it with a Negative Edge spilling into the pool there’s a waterfall coming off this wa fossil Limestone backsplash which again gives this like earthy organic native Texas feel and then you see in the distance the the pavers cut into the grass so it just has this beautiful organic look and then every pool area needs a a good bathroom so again you have the imported doors from Europe like opening on to a proper pool bath the backyard extends far beyond the pool with these special little moments and these Lush landscape here you have a water feature in this Nook with this maple tree and kind of the ivy growing up the copper pipes and every Texan needs a real smoker this is an old school antique smoker that you use to smoke your Meats I think we should try it now we’re back inside and although the home has six beautifully appointed bedrooms I’m going to show you the primary because it’s truly magnificent look at the size of this room there’s so much space it has soaring 20ft ceilings and then just a proper primary Suite with a huge oversized California king and so much ample space to have different sitting areas and experiences in this room you have a private patio off the primary as well and then it leads into this gorgeous custom walk-in closet and primary bath come with me custom wood Cabinetry walk-in closets his and hers vanities this bathroom is cladded with kolkat gold ConEd marble you have Venetian plaster covering the walls of course a steam shower all Waterworks custom fixtures a soaking tub and this beautiful oval window that’s carried through you saw this in the formal dining space as well there’s just so much natural light and also just custom textures and details throughout the home and of course there’s also a TV that’s built in so you can be watching your morning news as you get ready so now we’re heading to the best part of the home which is an underground wine Celler and I feel like this neon here captures it all one more poor favore follow [Music] me here we are in the underground wine Celler which is really special not only because you rarely ever see basement space in Austin Texas but because this is a proper dining experience wine seller this wine seller holds over 2,000 bottles and has the space for a full dining room experience this table seats 10 it can seat more and I’ve actually had a wine pairing dinner here it is just fabulous the chef serves you they pair it with different wines and what an experience to show your guests you wrap up in these blankets and have a proper Chef served dinner party with the most fabulous wine if you’re interested in learning more about this property email real estate homeworthy decom

  1. Im a designer living in Austin. Trust me when I say this property in Mayberry Austin is absolutely not worth $18 million!!!

Austin likes to think it can kerp up with (and srpass) NYC, LA or even Dallas. Austin can NOT!

Why has Homeworthy become a platform for real estate sales listings?

This property would have sold for a 1/3 of this price 5 years ago.

Austin doesn't have the progressive cultural, arts, transportation or social aptitude that it thinks it does fir anyone would spend this money for a house here. 🤷🏾‍♀️

The kicker is property taxes in Austin are insanely high! The taxes on this house are going to be $10K-$15K per year. Just saying…

Unless this house comes with alternate power sources (solar panels or portable gernerators, water tanks…), then this $18million house will suffer the same power, water and gas outages that Austin (and TX) has been dealing with since 2021.

This Homeworthy episode post just guaranteed me unsubscribing and not watching any future episodes.

  2. Let's move these types of episodes to a new YouTube account named "BarfWorthy" so the viewers know in advance that they are not "HomeWorthy." The Homeowner of this property should "rethink" the unappetizing dead cow skull above the kitchen sink. This is a 16 minute infomercial for a property with an inflated price tag – not a HomeWorthy home tour by owner.

  3. They should’ve got Ryan Serhant to do this tour its selling a property video 🤣 homeworthy please don’t start changing on me🤦🏾‍♀️

  4. Come on Homeworthy you're better than this. Don't patronise your global viewers. Inform, educate and inspire us please! ❤

  5. The red painting looks stunning in the formal living room. Goes to show that the artwork stands apart from the decorating. The glazed terracotta floors are gorgeous, as are the walls and woodwork and limestone on the pool. Timeless, with a TexMex flavor. For sure, this is a rare basement. All of Texas is limestone from the ancient seas, with an overlay of six inches of earth. The wine cellar may have been from a cave or it was labor intensive jackhammer mayhem.

  6. Stunning, old world vibe. Such a joy to see inside these rarely seen homes. This was magnificent and thank you, Homeworthy, for always mixing it up! Tour guide/ realtor was knowledgeable and informative without going overboard on presentation. Totally enjoyed this!

  7. Just wondering…what % of the sale price does the owner of this channel receive if the ultimate/eventual purchaser of the property *claims* to have learned about it via "Homeworthy"? Because this is quite obviously one long, inexplicitly-disclosed advertisement. I mean, the video intro itself states to viewers that the property is for sale and the asking price…right out of the gate. "Out-of-touch" is the kindest way to describe it. Unethical and probably sketchy/questionable is another.

  8. I think if this house wasn’t on the market we would not be able to see this gorgeous abode! Most people who can afford a home in this price point would not be interested in showing off their wealth let alone their home. So we should feel privileged we can have a tour of this amazing home. Only wish I could afford it.

  9. Absolutely love love this beautiful estate. Big grand homes and small ones. Thanks Homeworthy! Great job. Loved how large and magnificent it is yet feels very much like a warm and inviting home.

  10. A grand space, sure… but hopefully Homeworthy does more lived-in home tours and not many real estate viewings.

  11. I love having a real estate agent give the tour so the trolls can’t complain incessantly about the lovely homeowners 😅
