Brenda Moulton and her daughter were vacationing on the popular Greek island of Mykonos, a world-renowned tourist destination. They stopped at a beachfront restaurant and ordered a light lunch of two crab legs, two mojitos and a bottle of water. But Brenda was shocked when she got the bill for 598 Euro, or about $640. She told Inside Edition’s Ann Mercogliano that she felt intimidated into paying the exorbitant charge.

  1. It’s not an isolated thing on Mykonos; it happened to my party at a restaurant next to the Acropolis—got hard sold to eat there and saw two staff people get violent with each other at the patio area after one of them offended a family who walked out. I wrote a review of our experience, and the “owner” retaliated with lies of how great the restaurant was, their staff “even offered free drinks 3 times and we ignored the waitperson who spoke perfect English…” be weary of the pushy hosts!

  2. At least they didn't pay over $1,000 for a single meal from a steakhouse like Matt Stonie did for an eating challenge.

  3. This is why they call them tourist traps! But didn't they look at the prices on the menu before ordering???!!

  4. As a greek myself you guys go to mykonos and santorini to get ripped off so dont cry about it !!!! We have MANY MANY MANY MANY islands with very cheap prices but NO you wanna go to mykonos and get a first class chair at the beach ,drink your mojito and eat crab legs without asking for the prices … And then you cry about it and say you get scammed !!! NEXT TIME ASK FOR A CATALOG AND SEE WHAT THEY CHARGE YOU DAMASS

  5. This is why you need to travel with a man. And I don't mean a male i mean an actual man.

  6. A few years back and I got ripped off but I let them charge my credit card and I stopped the payment by my bank as Soon as I reached the hotel

  7. Yes i agree it is a ridiculious amount of money for the food but on the other hand, i would not eat something not knowing the price i have to pay first.

  8. I guess they just ordered an did not check the menu OR the menu did not have prices OR they did not ask. Then the restaurant took their chance. Even if they would win in court they have a plane to catch.
