Finally I managed to get to Venice for 2 days to be able to film a proper Bacaro tour! To enjoy the city fully you really need at least two days and then I would say 4 is more than enough.
We didn’t manage to visit all of the bacari on my list – this was my 13th time in Venice over the 5 years that I’ve lived here so I have accumulated quite a large list of tried and tested places.

you in it was a but very and you find those kind of H in like ceiling in in few areas in in Venice we’re going here yogurt [Music] are three tips for when you come to Venice so tip number one Venice is for chti and snacks we are doing a two-day backo tour a backo is a small dingy little bar the serbs glasses of wine and an ombra which is another word for shade in venetians call a jirra which is literally a walk in the shade which means you go from dingy little bar to dingy little bar drinking just these small glasses of wine and and little chti which is a piece of bread with something on it they are where you’ll find the true venetians in Venice they are not full of tourists they’re also not big places so you can’t fit like big groups of people into them you often have to stand on the street don’t be that annoying tourist who’s like do you have any chairs or can I have a chair don’t ask for a chair if there’s no chairs there’s no chairs that’s what we’re doing yesterday we had one meal for dinner out in a restaurant which you have seen already and today we’re going for lunch in a tra in the very very very far east part of Venice so we are having two meals here but the rest of the fwy in is snacks and chti cuz that’s how Venice should be done you should not be sitting in restaurants going for big meals every single time you come to Venice Venice is for chetti and snacks so if you want to take a gondola but you don’t have €80 to spend for 30 minutes on a gondola then you can come to this place and you can take it directly across the Grand Canal so from cadoro to basically Realto market and I think it’s €250 we’re about to find out if it’s gone up a price or not cuz it was one when I first came here but now I think it’s definitely gone up [Music] [Music] it’s just your luck we came in the fish market is not on this morning you have to come very very early if you want to come to it’s in this room FR vegges over there and also in this big room in front of me here from Venice used to come to Verona we used to sell the same spices from Venice in in K in [Music] Veron and that’s the pr and they used to rather than going out they used to walk them through those through this bridge and it’s called the the bridge of the SSP because that was the last from the window that was the last time a Venetian could see Venice and its water cuz then it was going to end up in prison and that’s why because they were like the prison that’s the prison that’s the pal so the dodg place so for that little window that was your last chance if you were a criminal to see vendis there J and it’s water and it’s Beauty that’s it for the tourist areas we’re going inside to find another BL it’s too busy way too busy isn’t it Doo he doesn’t want to be in the video but he’s he’s the star of the [Music] video the Spritz was invented in in Venice if I’m not wrong wrong I’m wrong no the sprit was invented in Venice okay and a spritz is a combination of wine some kind of bter lure and soda water now the classic recipe is a third a third a third the average price for this should be €3 3 to4 if you’re paying any more than that then it’s an expens establishment so this one was 350 this is a chinar sprit so there are many different sprits you can get you have select which is the vintage old style Campari select is Venetian it’s a red bottle just like Campari you have select you have compari you have ail you have chinar then you have a misto which is a mix of ail and compar together and the last one is a biano this is a biano which is just wine and water this is an ail which is a third appil a third wine a third sparkling water and this is a chitz which is China which is like a art choke flavored lure a third a third wine a third water with a slice of lemon and an olive that is the real V sprit but in the UK they do 90 Ms of prco 60 Ms of BS and a splash of water a spash of soda water and that’s the more common one that you get in like London or Glasgow or yeah it’s stronger with prco it’s got more wine in it that’s the one withco but the ones that we’re drinking now is like a still white wine and that’s that’s the best re and this is better but not as better as Camp so if this is too sweet then I recommend this one or AMO which is a mix of this compar AF and compar and this one yeah this one is my new favorite I really like it cheers [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] so guys the absolute last tip for Venice is don’t be a tourist don’t be that person who ask for ice in their wine don’t be that person who asks exact ingredients in every single chti learn a little bit of Italian before you come learn the word for po sprit can of have a spritz like learn these little things because the fact of the matter is vitians don’t like tourists imagine if you had a beautiful place and then one day it was just full of tourists full of horrible tourists pushing and like shoving and be absolutely awful so I understand why V naans don’t like Tois so try and be the best tourist when you come here pay your city tax before you arrive just be mindful that like this is not Disneyland people live here so be mindful of that you know just don’t be [Music] annoying so this is bakal which is like a fish paste it’s from I think it’s from northern Europe it’s a salted dried cured fish which is a mashed up and made into like a Patti which looks like this it’s not very appetizing but it’s so delicious you’ve not had one he’s not had one say he’s been here this is this is what you want when you come to Venice you have to have this this is what
