  1. simple tomato sauce and the ragù that takes 4 hours to cook are far from even relatives, but I agree with the disappointment of not having pizza, lasagna, spaghetti or pesto as food in the search

  2. To be fair lasagna is basically pasta al ragù, just with a different pasta shape. And a good ragù takes a while, so you make tons, and then you make various pasta dishes based on what you want that day.

  3. At least italian national food is sorta interesting… imagine being in Russia, where it's just "Borschtsch" or Beetroot soup in the countryside… or in Luxembourg, where it's "Bouneschlupp", a simple soup with beans and pieces of cooked "Mettwurst" (a kind of sausage) in there… yeah.
I'm really grateful my parents never actually made me eat Bouneschlupp. I hate beans. And soup.

  4. ehmm… iam pretty "lazy" … or better said…. I dont really invest time to make lunch only for myself. Would be a waste of time.
You know… i would ask you to make me some tasty italian food, so i learn what iam missing, but i have a flaw that is worse than eating tomato pasta.
…. i dislike the taste of molten cheese. Plus iam sligthly lactose intolerant.

  5. As one who was stationed in Italy and married to an Italian; this is 100% accurate.
I still have bruschetta for breakfast a decade after leaving that beautiful country.

  6. Around here I have to tell them to cook it "extra crispy" to not get handed a floppy wedge of dough and cheese; it's tragic.

  7. Every time she starts to speak in Italian like that I burst on laughing, especially because I understand everything that she's saying 😂
