Mouthwatering Italian Food in Rome! Rome Food Tour

I recently did a little trip to Europe and I knew my first stop had to be Italy’s capital, Rome! Upon arriving and seeing all of the amazing food I knew I had to record a Rome food tour for you all to share the mouthwatering Italian food that you see on every corner! Rome is famous for its unbelievable historic sites and beautiful streets but this video is all about the food!

Italian cuisine is famous around the world, specifically for their pasta, pizza and gelato. In this food tour I am getting my first taste of not only authentic Italian cuisine but also authentic Roman cuisine! For those of you who don’t know, the cuisine in Italy actually varies quite dramatically from city to city and province to province so in this video I made sure to include some dishes that originate specifically in Rome!

Italy has long been one of my dream destinations so I am so happy I was finally able to go and so excited to share my foodie experience with you all! Hi, my name is Deeva and I love to eat and today I’m gonna be taking you guys along with me as I eat my way through the beautiful city of Rome. From unbelievable historic sites to mouth-watering food, it is not surprising that Rome is one of the most visited cities in the world. After years of dreaming about the city, I finally got the chance to visit. So come join me as I take you guys along with me on this amazing food tour of Roma. Thank you. Okay guys, so our first stop is gonna be Mercato Trionfale. I hope I’m saying that right. Since it’s the weekend, a lot of the markets are open. So I definitely wanted to check some of them out. And since Rome is so dense, it’s so easy to get from one area of the city to the next. And literally I’ve been able to explore all of Rome by just walking. which has been really nice because I love to walk and I think walking around the city is the best way to explore it because you come across places that you would never see otherwise, you know? But yeah, right now I’m just walking towards the market and I’ll see you guys when I get there. For se tu mi bacerai Ogni istante attenderai Fino a quando, quando, quando D’improvviso ti vedrai Sorridente accanto a me okay guys, I’ve just been walking and exploring the market and they have like all kinds of stuff here like produce, home like home stuff meat cheese bakery with like baked goods, like pizza, bread, clothing, fish. Am I missing anything? Probably, like every single thing you could possibly imagine like so the market’s pretty diverse so I feel like if you want to eat, if you want to stock up on groceries, if you need like clothes it’s a good place to come and from what I’m seeing so far, the prices are pretty reasonable as well. So yeah, I definitely spotted a few bakeries that I might get a little treat from, but I want to explore all my options before I pick. But yeah. So my body is basically begging me to feed it some fruits and vegetables, so I’m definitely gonna get some fruit I’ve been these strawberries and they look so red, juicy and delicious. And I thought we could try it because I still haven’t had like any fruit while I’m here. So why not? Okay guys, so I came across this bakery and their pizza looks really good. So I got a mushroom pizza. They have so many different kinds like zucchini, eggplant, potato. Margarita. Just all of them look so good and one of the hardest things for me while being in Rome has been deciding which kind of pizza to get because they all look so good. I definitely end up ordering a lot but since we’re doing a food tour and i have a lot to eat so i thought i would just get one. So we have a mushroom pizza here and I’m a big mushroom girly. This is what it’s looking like. it looks so good and the thing about roman style pizza it’s super thin and crunchy as opposed to Neapolitan style pizza which is soft not real it doesn’t it’s not really crunchy you know but when you have roman style pizza it’s thin it’s crunchy and it’s super delicious anyways let’s let’s try this all the places that I’ve been to, honestly, have been very similar. And they’re all just really good, you know? Like, nothing to complain about. Just good pizza i think if you like thin crust, thin and crispy crust you’ll be a big fan of roman style pizza but yeah i think this is the perfect way to start off this food tour we’re approaching final bite anyways let’s move on okay guys, I just stepped outside the market. Loved the market. Definitely worth checking out because it’s so lively and it got really busy right as i was heading out as well. Anyways, I think it’s time to try some strawberries. Look how beautiful that looks. Oh, I really hope they’re nice and sweet These are some of the best strawberries I’ve ever had. Mmm. Is this strawberry season? Oh yeah, it’s almost summer. Mmm. Oh, they’re so good. They’re like not too sweet, but like perfectly sweet. And like tart. Mmm. I love it. I love it. I’m so glad I got these. I definitely needed the fruit. Mmm. Delicious. I should have definitely washed these, but I really don’t care. But if there’s bugs on it, extra protein. Ate some of the best pizza and some of the best strawberries, and now I’m heading towards a cafe that I saw earlier on the way to try a really popular Pastry. It’s basically this bun that’s filled with a ton of i probably shouldn’t stay because YouTube, you know. YouTube’s a little, you know, a little strict about things like that but uh basically a bun filled with a lot of whipped cream. And I think it’s called maritozzi. Maritozzi? Something like that. And we’re also going to get a cappuccino. So it’s going to be the perfect snack. A cappuccino and a cream filled bun. Does anything sound better than that? Exactly. I don’t think so. So yeah, I’ll see you guys when we get to the cafe. Now, and two cappuccinos, please. Okay, guys, I just placed my order, and yeah. Okay, guys, I’ve got the maritozzi here. Look how much whipped cream is on it. It’s crazy. Okay, let’s try it. I already took a bite because i’m filming a video for TikTok, but let’s pretend it’s my first bite, okay? It’ll be a secret between you and me. I love how light it is. The bun’s so soft. Again, the whipped cream is so light. It’s, yeah, it is the perfect, I think, midday snack to pair with your cappuccino. Oh, and the cappuccino is like very strong. Like, this is one of the strongest cappuccinos i’ve had. And it’s warm. Usually when i get cappuccinos in north America, for some reason, they’re always, like, cold. Why is that? I don’t know. But yeah, very good. Okay, guys, that cafe was freaking phenomenal. Like, it was so good. And right as I was exiting, someone was walking in and he was like, this is the best cafe slash bar in town. And he told me such a cute little story of how his grandpa used to go to, since we’re so close to the Vatican City the his grandfather used to go to the Basilica to see the Pope. And then on his way back, stop at this bakery and get the cream filled bun and drop it off at his house for him and his sister. So I thought that was really cute and I’m so that he shared that with me because now this place is even more special to me. But yeah, if you’re ever in Rome and looking for a good cafe slash bar, you know, eat some delicious pastries. And if you want to try a maritozzi, This is a phenomenal place to check it out. And I definitely recommend the cappuccino because it is strong and it is delicious. But yeah, now we’re on our way to the next spot. So I’ll see you guys then. Okay, guys, now we’re going to the most authentic and traditional Italian restaurant in all of Italy, not only Rome. And it’s called Roadhouse. They serve the best traditional Italian ribs you’ll ever find, smothered in barbecue sauce, just how the Italians like it. That. Nel mio cuore c’è un amore verde Il cielo sempre blu Okay guys now we’re at Campo de Fiori which is a really popular market at a square in the city center and yeah they’ve got like all kinds of stuff like clothing, juices, food, souvenirs, olives, cheese, all that jazz and yeah if you’re at the city center come check out the market because it’s really cool. okay guys i’m at the market and i found these two really cute coasters with lemons on them and i think i’m gonna get them because for those of you don’t know i like to collect like utensils and kitchen related like crockery and stuff in every country that i visit and the and it usually has something to do with like the cuisine of the country. So in this case it has lemons on it. And I know that lemon is such a big part of Italian cuisine with like limoncello and everything. So I think this is like the perfect thing to get because they’re super cute. Like look at them. Look at the lemons. So cute. And yeah, I think I’m gonna get these. Yay, I’m so happy that I found something and I’m also very happy that it wasn’t like coffee or like drinks related because usually when I’m looking for like kitchen related items, crockery or utensils, they’re always coffee related because I know that because I know that coffee is such a big part of like so many different places that I’ve visited. And I also need to be mindful of the space in my luggage. So yeah, I’m really happy that I found something different and something super cute and something to do with Italian cuisine. Right? So yeah. Anyways, now we are just in downtown, exploring downtown. The streets, they’re so beautiful. Like… I’ve truly felt like I’m in a painting while being in Rome, like genuinely. Like everything, every single building, it is like a work of art. But yeah, let’s continue exploring the beautiful city of Rome. If you guys don’t know, I am obsessed with markets like farmer’s market, food markets. They’re like my favorite places to explore. I just love the energy inside of them. And right now, according to Google Maps, there should be another market a few blocks down. It’s called Novo Mercado Esquilino. I hope I’m saying that right. But yeah, I can’t wait to check out this market because the last one was quite nice. So I’m excited to see how this one is. But yeah, I’ll see you guys when we get to the market. Okay guys, this market is a lot more chaotic than the one I went to last time. Yeah, there’s not much, really, like, actual food stalls here, but, like, more for, like, produce and, like, um, grocery items and ethnic products. Like, I’m seeing a lot of, like, South Asian products and spices at this market. And there’s a lot of butchers and fish markets and stuff like that, so And the prices are even cheaper than the one i went to last time, so I think this is a good place to stock up on produce and meat and ethnic products. But if you’re looking for food, like actual food, I wouldn’t really recommend it. But still very glad that I checked it out. It was very cool. But yeah, now we’re on to the next spot. I’m not sure where exactly, but I’ll let you guys know when I find out. Okay guys, now we’re at this restaurant called Taverna de Migliori. It’s near the market that we were just at and I think we’re gonna do a late lunch early dinner sort of a thing and then just call it a night maybe get dessert after. But yeah, I just looked it up on Google and this place had really good reviews and their menu has like a lot of like the things that I want to try so Yeah, I have a good feeling about this place because the picture of the food looked really good from what I saw, and from the people sitting beside me, it smells and looks really good too, so I’m very excited. Okay guys, I placed my order. I got the osso buco which is like wheel shank, and it’s like in this stew with tomatoes, celery, onion, namag Sounds really good and heartwarming, so I’m gonna have that and we also got a couple pieces of bruschetta, like two different kinds. They had one that was picante, which is like with chili pepper, and the other one was just like the classic bruschetta with tomatoes, olive oil, garlic. So yeah, that is the plan. And I’m very happy about it. Okay guys, they came out really fast with that. It’s like they had it ready and they just like brought it out, which I’m not complaining about. I’m very happy. So this is the classic bruschetta with tomatoes, basil, olive oil. Let’s try it. the flavor of the olive oil is very strong. It’s probably the strongest olive oil flavor i’ve had. It’s good. I wish the garlic flavor was a bit stronger, but i feel like that’s what’s missing with this. But then they’re very good. You can’t really complain about the bread in Italy. It’s been amazing everywhere, so. okay this is the picante one look at that i wonder if it’s going to be spicy not spicy, but kind of reminds me of achar. Like, achar is like pickled vegetables. It’s like a really popular thing in south asian cuisine. And it tastes like that. Yeah? Very good. I think i’m gonna add some black pepper and balsamic vinegar to it and then it’ll be perfection. Okay guys, our food is out. This is the osso bucco looks looks pretty good, I’m not gonna lie. Okay, let’s try it. Also, something that we forgot. I have been dying to try artichoke in Rome. Roman artichoke is a really popular thing here and currently it’s the season for it, so So I’m very lucky because I get to try it. So there’s two different kinds of artichokes. From what I’ve noticed, there’s like a Jewish artichoke and a Roman style artichoke. The Jewish artichoke is fried, whereas the Roman ones grilled, if I’m not mistaken. But yeah, let’s try this. Whoa. That just falls apart. Okay. Cheers. The texture is so soft. Almost like a potato. Like it just melts in your mouth. It doesn’t have a very strong flavor, but it’s very good and it tastes really fresh. That’s very interesting. Unlike anything I’ve ever had before. Wow. Time for the asabuco. I have a feeling this meat is about to be like fall apart. Yep. Very tender. Yeah. i mean, it’s exactly how i expected it to be. Fall apart meat, warm spices, just a very hearty, delicious meal. And yeah, I’m very satisfied right now. This is very good. Okay, guys, that meal was pretty good. I liked everything i think that osso bucco was really good. The artichokes were really good and overall a very satisfying meal. So if you’re in Rome, And you’re looking for a nice place which has traditional Roman slash Italian cuisine. Not a bad place to check out. Their menu is pretty huge. They have all kinds of stuff. And yeah, now we’re heading to a really famous gelato place that I actually saw in a Roman like tour guide kind of a book where they had like all sorts of recommendations for if you’re visiting Rome. So I’m really excited to check it out. It should be like a couple blocks down, like very near to the restaurant i was just at. So yeah, because for those of you don’t know, there is a really important Italian law. I mention it every single time. And that is that you have to get gelato at least once a day or you get executed for being stupid. And I don’t want to get executed. I still have a long life to live. So we’re gonna go get gelato now. And I’m super excited because I don’t know what it is, but after every salty meal, I need a sweet treat. Like that, just like, you know, it’s like full circle. But it’s like I’m not satisfied until I have my sweet treat. So, and we all know that gelato is like the perfect sweet treat. So anyways, I will see you guys when we get to the gelato shop. I am very excited. Okay guys we’re at the gelato spot now. It’s called Gelateria Fossi and there’s a huge line which is always a good sign so yeah. Honestly guys I don’t mind waiting in line at gelato spots because it gives me enough time to decide what flavor I’m getting because that is like the hardest decision ever. It’s like there’s so many good flavors, like which one do you pick? So this entire time I’m going to decide and really think about what I want. Okay, guys, I got three really cool flavors that I’m really excited about. I got salted peanut, dark chocolate and hazelnut, which I think are definitely top five best gelato flavors out there. Another thing that I’ve noticed is that over here they put whipped cream on top. I’m not used to that. I haven’t seen that anywhere else before. But yeah, let’s try it. The hazelnuts are really good. Let’s try the dark chocolate. Oh my god, that is so rich. Incredibly rich. Okay. Let me try and sneak my way into the salted peanut. Holy. The salted peanut is incredible. Wow. This is a very good spot. I am very happy right now. So good. And the space is huge. And it’s a whole hall and it’s full. which is crazy. We should tell you how popular this place is. And it’s not like in the city center either. Like, we’re a bit outside of the city center. And it’s still packed. So, it’s pretty good. And it’s been open since 1880. so it’s got history. But yeah, I’m so happy i got to try it because this is absolutely delicious. Anyways, I think I’m gonna end off the vlog here. I hope you guys enjoyed this. Yeah, I have loved Rome so much. If you’re someone who likes historical sites, walking around a city, eating delicious food, then Rome is the perfect place to visit. And everything i had today was incredible.
