what is one of the biggest taboos in
Italian Society did you guess it it is
the famous pineapple on pizza if you’re
coming here to Italy to live or just go
on vacation my best piece of advice is
do not mention it and certainly do not
order it in a restaurant I say this
because from personal experience this is
one of the foods that will get you the
quickest disgusted reaction from your
average Italian personally I think it’s
getting a bit old and I think the
Italians overreacted a little bit but
they do have their reasons me personally
I don’t eat it and for a very specific
reason apart from the fact that I don’t
like the taste I think it’s a really bad
idea to combine Citrus the pineapple and
tomato that is just a nightmare for your
stomach if this short video has saved
even just one person from having a bad
experience in Italy then it was worth
making it see me today hit the like
button ciao

  1. Pineapple on pizza is a crime punishable by making you clean the pizzeria kitchen. It's even worse if you ask for banana or kiwi on pizza

  2. I was in Palermo this past November. There was a pizza place that had pineapple pizza on the menu. Everyone that worked there didn't speak any English so it wasn't a tourist spot (also it wasn't in a touristy location). I was quite surprised but I still wouldn't order it.

  3. Being Italian myself, I think Italians should chill. I agree that you cannot call pineapple pizza Italian, like pasta alfredo or carbonara with sour cream. However, I don't see why someone can't make their own version, which is just that, a different version of an Italian dish. Just don't call that authentic. Ps: I've eaten pineapple pizza once (it is very difficult to find unless you go to the tourist traps) and I liked it 😅
What I want to say to non-Italians is please respect the food culture here and don't expect non-Italian ingredients on Italian food. To Italians, just chill.

  4. I don't mind it, but absolutely respect what you are saying & do follow your advice, I'm not offending my hosts when on holiday! In defence of pineapple generally (lol), pineapple juice is very good for sore throats (used to suffer from tonsilitis in my 20's!) as it soothes when you swallow it & it has nutrients that help cure the soreness when swallowed (just pinch your nose David!)

  5. I have seen it in touristy areas as well. I'd never eat it, but it is available in select areas. Just goes to show even if Italians don't agree with it, if it serves the majority of tourists, they are willing to accomodate.

  6. Dogmatic snobs with immensely overrated food 😂
(not that it's not good, but they behave like it's unique and magical)

  7. i agree but pineapple is not a citrus fruit, it doesn't contain citric acid i thought this was common knowledge but i guess that sort of thing doesn't exist in America
