MSC Yacht Club – Is it a rip off or is it worth the money ??

Lots of info both good and bad on the internet about MSC’s Yacht Club experience but we decided to try the Yacht Club cruise experience for ourselves and see what its all about. So we booked a 7 day Western Mediterranean cruise leaving from Barcelona. Do we think MSC Yacht Club is worth it or not – watch the video to find out what happened.

well here we are we are at Barcelona
cruise ship
terminal and we are about to set off on
a 7 night Western Mediterranean cruise
with MSC
Cruisers uh We’ve booked into the yacht
club section which is uh they call it a
ship within a ship so in this video
we’re going to show you our whole
experience of yach club and you can
follow our journey so let’s go we’re at
the terminal we’re about to check in
so you can see we’re approaching the
terminal the blue tent there is says MSC
Yacht Club on it so I think we’ll make
our way over to that and see if we get
checkin at that
tent we have Fast Track
tickets then showing boarding passes and
passports so good they brought us
straight to the front of the line
straight to the front with all these
people we came right to the
front so I guess this is the first
benefit they got Club you got to skip
all the lines right yes and I think
they’re going to take the luggage from
us right here so that’ be
good well this is good do we know where
we’re going no we just follow him okay
I’m game everybody else is stuck out
here we’re following
him nice to meet you Ean and you Ronda

got in trouble of uh filming insecurity
yeah I think you’ll see that hopefully
you got the guy going like that telling

together it’s a nice uh terminal

good check-in process we are through
security checked in they’ve taken our
luggage and it’s taken minutes yeah less
than 5 minutes to get to this stage the
terminal is really mod hello how are you

goodness you can tell ronda’s excited so
trip report on the first uh 10 minutes
of being at the terminal fantastic
experience uh priority everything
everything and now a beautiful glass of
champagne and we can board at our
Leisure Ronda you’re not carrying your
bag yourself you lazy thing he asked to
take it for
me oh here we go MSC Fantasia she’s

yach club it’s been too long okay what’s

wow yeah and the lounge this is a
private Lounge for the Y club and it’s
right at the front of the ship look at
the view you get out of the lounge

it let’s have a look what we’ve got what
the offerings

chips mushrooms in oil they look
good some nice
chocolates little
desserts winded up getting some of the
wild
mushrooms the queen olives
and little chicken
salad I think I’ll try one of these
uh wild mushrooms here I love
mushrooms like that that looks really
good M I love
mushrooms so good do you feel special
already spoiled rotten actually yeah
yeah like royalty it’s been
amazing can I see a card my salad was
really
good this card is used I guess for
everything
elevators get the entrance door to the
yach club area getting off on and off
the ship yeah you’re in Cabin 1633 Rond
I wonder which one I’m in um it better
be the same one not like our flight
right book The Other Side of the of the
boat yeah the
ship they’re really thick chips R there
yeah the science has extra thick potato
chips they are well the top sale Lounge
is lovely these seats are really really
comfy aren’t they what a great afternoon
we’ve had yeah we haven’t even been to
the cabin
yet anyway Let’s uh make our way and
we’re going to ask to be taken to our
cabin
now oh I feel bad cuz he’s taking my bag
as
well follow Ronda up the golden
staircase
that’s
pretty you’re not carrying your bag

spoiled here’s our
suite we’re going to do the pool deck
today I think 3:30 until what 3:30 okay
all right oh lot of time okay let’s do a
cabin tour
bathroom’s there the bed is
here we have
a couch which looks super
comfy and we
have a chair with our bags on it we’ve
got some water and peanuts and stuff
show me in those cupboards R what’s in
that cupboard with a lock on it oh
there’s a little fridge
oh stocked what’s it got in there fruit
juice and beer beers ice tonic water
well we need uh Jin to go with the tonic
water
yeah exactly oh look look look look and
a to blon Bar oh it’s to blon dark
that’s okay it’s still toon yeah okay

that we can get and how amazing it is

the bathroom newspaper menu oh a
newspaper men newspaper menu well that’s

who reads newspapers these days oh look
at all the different papers you can get
yeah I use my
phone yeah let’s have a look in the
bathroom oh here we go so in the
bathroom we
got wash
basin the
toilet and a full
bathtub and
shower yeah ronda’s going to like it in
here there breakfast order be out by 2:
a.m. oh yeah you can order your
breakfast to come to your room the
newspaper menu and then all the days
activities all the daily programs yeah
that looks really good so that is our
cabin it is a deluxe Grand Suite is what
it
is so here’s uh a priority
elevator which is just for yach
Club folks all the mirors are disturbing
I know this is a private uh

nice up here
right there’s a bar and hopefully oh I
can smell food it smells delicious some
lunch somewhere

Buffet Glenn’s Buffet is that what you
call iten Buffet I can SM Seafood so
you’re lucky oh yeah I’ll check that out
in a second let’s sit
here good good looks good R um just
trying to see what we
have beef so this are seas beef beef
it’s a meat with spicy can meic

scallops scallops yes nice that were
nice vegetables potato salads okay and
then there’s
a salad bar Ronda salad bar which you
will like so that was a good experience
as soon as we arrived up here we are
immediately surrounded almost by uh way
servers absolutely given us awesome
service Ronda has gone
for what is it Ronda explain you lunch
those potatoes look amazing let’s
see oh yeah I could just have a whole
plate of those those are
scallops and then
salami salad and a chili con carne that
they said it’s
spicy it
spicy no
and I’ve got a a cold cured beef and
also a roast beef with potatoes and a
couple of scallops so that roast beef is
amazing the gravy
oh potatoes
amazing the
scallops M they’re so good this is my
favorite these sea scallops M so
good love those scallop

and ordered a glass of rosé wine Italian
wine to go with the the
skallops which is also
delicious so that was a delicious lunch
they serve lunch up here from 12:30 to
3:30 up near the pool deck so that’s
every day that’s good to know we do have
a choice we could could have gone to
the
um the restaurant the uh yach Club
restaurant which is at the other end of
the ship but that closes for lunch at
2:30 okay so this is am Mara yeah who we
just met because this is our first day
and what is your job what is your job on
the boat assistant y Club assistant r y
Club okay yeah Amar is from Sri
Lanka yes Sri Lanka yeah so it’s it’s
it’s golden opportunity for me to meet
the people around CR absolutely yeah
absolutely aming yeah we really
everybody we’ve met so far we’ve only
been on the boat for 3 hours everybody’s
so friendly happy everyone’s smiling
just like you yeah we love it it’s we
think we’re going to have a really good
Cruise we’ve just been given a I don’t
she said sailway drink or a daily
cocktail oh daily cocktail that’s what
it was I was going to say because we
sail at 5:00 and it is only 3:20 so
almost 2 hours before we sail is the
daily cocktail been in the yach club all
the drinks at the bar unless you order
something really really high-end all the
drinks the premium top shelf liquor the
hard stuff uh French
champagne any drink that you want some
really some really really nice expensive
wines available which are all included
in your Yacht Club

fair you there so we have to go uh back
to the
cabin because there’s a safety video we
have to
watch so I wasn’t going to record the
safety video cuz that was pretty boring
but anyway we just watched the safety
video in our
suite and once that was done there was
like 10 beeps on the loudspeaker like
the emergency sound the emergency beeps
and then we dial
881 on the phone and now what we have to
do is go to our mustard station scan our
cards to prove that we know where it is
and we’ve been there and that’s the
drill over so that’s not too
bad and then we’ll be setting sail I
think in the next 15 minutes

well here we are at the Y Club
restaurant let’s see if anybody’s in
here hello how are
you just got served the bread I also
have the white bread it’s so delicious
crusty fresh and warm and Ronda always
has the seeded bread I have ordered a
duck
comfy and English fish and chips for the
main course and Run’s gone for fish and
chips and here is the duck
confi with a red onion jelly
yeah so the verg on the duck comfy it
was
excellent tasted like Duck you know gy
very gy but I like that I enjoy duck I
enjoy get meat so yeah that was a thumb
up for that one now let’s see what the
English fish and chips are like I’m an
expert in English fish and chips so they
better be
good it’s a bit of a dainty portion
there two uh it’s like two fish fingers
and 1 three four six chips mushy peas oh
there are mushy peas that’s
good yeah very dainty portion isn’t
it I’m used a big portions wrapped in
newspaper in England not this little
thing but let’s see what it’s like all
the fish is nice and white
anyway nice fish is it Ronda is it I’ve
only tried the fries fries are really
good yeah I know it’s nice
fish here’s the main pool
area this is on Deck uh 15
big screen TV over there they play uh
movies and a lot of sports on that
TV okay let’s see if we can find our way
to the ooc club this way I haven’t been
this way
yet oh it’s indoor
pool it’s super hot in here oh my
goodness
so
hot that’s
nice palm tree with a water squiding out
of
it and then of course wherever you see
these
doorways these leading into the yacht
club members only you just scan your
card in there and it magically
opens and here we

are you have to try everything
we’re having to try this different
French uh rosé wine and ronda’s trying a
pink Jin pink Jin and T in the top sale
Lounge of the yacht
club so the little uh orves and stuff in
the top sale Lounge Chang throughout the
day now we’ve got some
little sandwiches little chicken caesar
salads
sandwich and a mini roll with mayo egg
mustard and
potato so this is goose
breast with
Bretta wow what do you think about it
looks gorgeous right I’ll stick to my
pistachio nuts thank you very
much little thing eh down in one it is
going down in one mhm what is the cream
on there
I have no idea anyway let’s try
it tastes like

tastes nice it’s

lovely so we decided we’re going to go
and see The Ed shiron Show tonight this
is great so we just go to uh conci and
now we’re escorted by our wonderful
Butler

sir wow I was just spoiled with the in
snow and Glenn’s got some lamb chops for
him those are
amazing lamb chops lamb is one of my
favorite meats and these chops look
amazing see it’s just got the nice pink
strip in the middle
beautiful hope it tastes good it’ll be
amazing yeah I love

it absolutely beautiful cooked
perfect there there is a lot of fat on
lamb anyway and I don’t eat the fat so
you can see so there’s a lot of ways but
yeah that’s all fat right but when I got
the meat the actual round piece of meat
off the shank absolutely beautiful y but
because it’s only three there probably
three bites of
meat I’m still
hungry so the other thing on the menu is
a ve scallop es scallop so I’ve ordered
that as well you you can
order one of everything if you want in
the you know in the O club so I decided
you know I’ve had three bites of L is
beautiful but I’m still hungry a little
bit so I’ve ordered the ve so I can try
the ve as well so that’s
awesome so this is the veil I’m not sure
what kind of sauce it is I’ll tell you
in a second it smells really good from
here oh man that melts in your mouth yay
YY it’s like it’s like the most tender
beef ever peas and ve not something Rond
would eat no absolutely not that’s great
that is gorgeous and it smells really
good

beautiful that’s what the bed looks like
after a super comfortable night
sleep lovely bedding on there a very
comfy bed
it’s 9:00 in the morning and we decided
to try
breakfast in our room so we just had our
way to deliver
breakfast and we have several things
seems to be a lot of food we got some
cold cut
meats and then we
have a cheese plate
and we
have
salmon then we got fruit mixed
berries fruit
plate a
mole
tea and
yogurt grapefruit
juice and some hot toast
I think we need two we’ll use the other
one as
well and we level the cup of tea oops
almost put the tea in first instead of
the
milk that’s a big no
no there we
go that tea smells amazing it’s
delicious the mini bar is restocked
every day there’s some chocolates in
there soft
drinks beer fruit
juice you get your
first
toon included but if you want another
one you can order it from room service
but you got to pay for
it snacks a chocolate
toone
6 these are the waters you get uh in
your cabin
every
day it is mineral water you got big
bottle of still and a big bottle of
sparkling there’s maré in the
distance this elevator is in the yach
club area so you don’t need uh your key
card and it only goes up to floor 18
anyway so we will go to 18
which is
the rooftop
pool so I would definitely say the one
bar which is the bar next to the
swimming pools in the O club on Deck 18
uh is our favorite place to eat
absolutely lunch is absolutely beautiful
and breakfast you like high tea is
awesome yeah this is the best place to
eat
this is this is our favorite your
position m m y Club M okay so which
means he’s in basically in charge of the
dining experience in the yach club main
dining room which is called Lea Lea okay
Lea I have to ask where are you from are
you Italy I Italian okay I
froma okay is uh famous for the balsamic
vinegar okay pork fish chickens potatoes
salmon SK
salmon the potato sauce look good
vegetables and then the salad bar yeah
Sal Bo so it’ll be on there in probably
like about 2 and a half 3 weeks M so who
does good bus well editing for what
photos or you Instagram or YouTube
YouTube the deal is like this
unless it’s my food ones then I do them
the deal is like this okay we will but I
have to cook for
you oh there’s a good deal yeah there a

and he he has just brought us two jars
of his
famous famous on ship anyway hot sauce
yeah so where you from again where’s
your country Maus macius okay so the
Indian Ocean indan yeah close to is it
closer to India or closer to Madagascar
AF oh okay in the east coast of Indian
Ocean is it it its own country or does
it belong to India or it’s independent
country independent country okay well

travels the world with us because they
are so
lightweight small box we pack them in
every
carryon bag that we have and we’ve
always got them to play on the
airplane at a bar in our room and we
love

lounge and every evening there’s live
music which is really good

in the yach club lounge every evening
this is Natalia hi hi Natalia she is
she’s wonderful and you’re from Ukraine
Ukraine Ukraine yeah and she amazing
yeah every time every time we’re hungry
or thirsty she brings food or she brings
drinks like big drinks like even when we
don’t want food she brings us stuff to
make sure we digest dinner and she’s our
mama she takes amazing amazing car us
and we’re going to miss her dearly bye
well it’s the last evening in the yach
club Lounge we disembark tomorrow at
Barcelona I’m having a glass of French
champagne they pour me a very very big
one and ronda’s having a rosé
wine listening to a bit of piano
music and then we’re going to go to the
room and pack the bag ready for the
morning cuz we get off the boat at
around 7:45 a.m.
straight the room looks really tidy
apart from my little backpack on the bed
but they’ve made up the room it’s ready
for tonight and they brought us as they
do every night a
little little dessert little sweet thing
there to eat before bed there’s ronda’s
Teddy of course waiting for her to come
back so we didn’t get dinner out tonight
we thought we would try the room service
menu for dinner and in the room you have
a a barcode so I’m just going to scan
that and here we go here is let’s put it
this way easy to read room service menu
got starters we got
sandwiches sweets and they’ve got a a
really good pizza restaurant here so
here’s the pizzas and apparently these
pizzas are Stone Fired and they are just
the best so we’re going to have a pizza
as well so ordered it I’m going to order
it usually it takes about 30 to 40
minutes so it’s late we didn’t fancy
doing like a fullon
dinner this is their spicy pepperoni
pizza that they delivered to our

room came for breakfast I’ll show you
what’s available up
here in the yach club near the pool area
you got all kinds of teas or coffee back
there they’ll make you a whatever coffee
you want there’s
pastries and then is a fully cooked
breakfast
available so we got
bacon grilled tomato hash browns eggs
sausage beans you can order eggs uh at
the egg station I’ve just ordered an
omelette to be made fresh and then you
got your cold cuts and
cheeses fruit plates
yogurts and
Gams of course
bread and your normal cereals up
there so Ronda I made myself a little
bacon s
nice and my uh custom ordered omelets
just arrived that looks really nice oh
it’s loaded lovely soft look at
that right and here’s dessert a little
selection of C cuts and salmon thank you
how are you today very with amazing
there look at the
sign from my home Madagascar Madagascar
this Madagascar it is you brought it
with you you ordered it for my birthday
right yeah that’s so kind of you what
what is your position here head Butler
oh okay that’s very important
position yeah and how do you say your
name is it yxi or jaxi Jai jaxi oh
okay we are just docking
back at
Barcelona for our final docking of this
Cruise it’s 730 in the morning we
hopefully disembark at 8:00 a.m. because
we have to get a flight from Barcelona
airport which leaves it 11:20 so we’re
quite tight for
time but we’re going to get uh Express
disembarkation arranged through our
Butler so we’ll basically be the very
first people off the
ship so we made it we are in a taxi on
the way to the
airport so we sat in Barcelona Airport
we two drinks here one’s a seigo beer
one’s a a water okay one of those
cost5 and one of them cost
€250 can you guess which is which which
one cost €5
the
water beer in Barcelona Airport is half
the price of
water so which means I’m going to have
to rehydrate using beer
only okay so I’m going to take the
opportunity now to give you our thoughts
on MSC yach Club is it worth it is it
worth the extra money
well when we think back to the cruise
all I can remember is being absolutely
spoiled and pampered from day one and I
mean spoiled and pampered right from uh
arriving at the the uh terminal the
cruise ship terminal at Barcelona we
were whisked through all the security
and the lineups we went to do our
check-in where we drank champagne we had
some OES uh whis to the ship basically
the first people on the ship and then
the entire cruise once we met our Butler
and the fabulous staff all over the yach
club it was some of the best service
we’ve ever had in any hotel ship
whatever you want to restaurant it was
just superb from day one to day seven
yeah it’s a bit more expensive to go in
the yacht club from a regular uh cabin
in the regular area but in our opinion
if you want to be spoiled and you want
to experience first class cruising it’s
really worth it if you can afford to
splurge Splurge because I think it’s
everything about it is a thumbs up from
us the food the service the cabin the
bedding um everything the drinks your
own personal Butler and they just take
care of your absolute every need every
need everything’s taken care of they
took us right off the ship to a taxi
yeah whatever you want you ask for and
you can get not that we were asking for
everything cuz we’re not needy people by
any means but it’s just nice to know
that had we needed something you press
the button you ask your Buttle and
they’ll arrange it for you um the
concierge that takes me to ask him for
things the conci desk on the boat in the
Y Club area they arrange your excursions
they arrange if you want laundry do it
in if you want uh table booked in the
restaurant whatever you want they will
arrange it and those staff at the coner
desk are amazing as well so overall
fantastic cruise we would definitely go
MSC yach Club again oh even when you
want to see a show that was amazing oh
yeah the theater the theater’s free the
spot’s free you have your own seating
area your butler will take you down into
the theater for any of the shows and you
don’t need to reserve you’ve got private
not private but you’ve got yach Club
only G seating in you go you watch the
theater show uh take a drink in with you
and back to the yacht club area uh
Swimming Pools and Hot Tubs are also
never crowded in the yach club area
never and the lunch is up there on the
on the swimming pool deck are just
amazing they were probably our favorite
meals with the lunches up there on the
yach except my birday dinner that was
pretty
amazing yes that was amazing in the ooc
club restaurant yeah but yeah as you can
tell we’re just showering MSC yach club
with praise yeah uh because we really
enjoyed it we had a fabulous Cruise it
went way too quick we could have done
another week on that easy yeah no issue
so and we booked another one yeah we did
don’t forget to like subscribe and hit
that Bell cuz you’re going to want to
see
it yeah we did book another Cruise uh
while we were on there we got a good
discount
and we booked another cruise for uh
actually next year but it’s all booked
and we’re going to go not telling you
where it is right now that’ll be for
another video in the
future okay so y club thumbs up we will
definitely Cruise your club we recommend
it to everybody don’t forget to like
