it’s still convenient on brewing the
beer at home in
2024 let’s see together before we start
with the ingredients it’s important to
understand the situation because the uh
English
channel is follow all over the world but
I cannot make the price for all the
country so I check that majority of the
followers are from the states so I will
do the price for on brewing in the
States but you can follow my idea
checking in your country maybe if you
click in the link from Amazon they will
open the link in your country so it will
be easier for you to check the price to
uh make uh
4.5 liter of beer like usually I make it
so nine bottles like this we need 2.5
pounds of malt the price in total is
$8 half o of Ops that is
$272 and half bag of East that is $
2.82 so for the ingredient in total we
need
1354 so less than $15
plus because some people can say about
the water the energy so I count $4 for
the water remember that you can use the
top water so the price will still
drop and $6 of energy some people use
electricity some people use
gas the total is $24
that divided nine
bottles one bottles more or less is
2.7 so onade Brew one B like this is
less than
$3 but some people will say the very
expensive things is the tools let’s
check the tools let’s start with the
fermentor you have many option for me
the best option especially if you’re at
the beginning is this kit kind of Kit is
a fermenter plus a IR loock is only two
gallon please don’t start making five
gallon of beer because if you make some
mistake you throw all these
ingredient and also when you make five
gallon of beer and you drink one beer
every day for two months you drink
always the same beer so if you make two
gallons like this you can change every
week you can ferment a new beer if you
are on brew and you want to practice and
try many different beer so one week you
make IPA one week you make
a black beer trapes beer Belgium beer
lger beer up to you pner so you can
change every week and if you make a
party you will finish the be no you can
keep it for few months and one day drink
this and the other day drink the other
one so my advice is this uh one that I
show you because it’s already the bucket
plus the irock $20 if you buy the top
you can buy two so one you can add the
one you can use another one is
$6 and if you by the hydrometer cost
$872 so in total the fermenter with the
arlock and the top and the hydrometer is
$35 but if you decide to build your
fermentor remember that if you buy a
container like this you need the one
with the ring in this way will be no
leaking of the air because many of you
ask me I put the East and everything the
fermentation didn’t start what’s
happened and after you open the
fermenter you can see the fermentation
is going on but the a loock is not
moving why because there is a leaking
around your
lead with this kind of a container is
much easier they are more
hermetic this one in Italy we use to
store the olives maybe you can find
something s in your
country or uh if you know somebody that
work in a big restaurant maybe they have
a big container like this for mayonnaise
or people that make ice cream they have
similar container for uh keeping the
ingredient of the ice cream so look
around you will find a food container
that will be hermetic for the battle you
have uh two option this one with this
kind of lead Flip Flip
cap or this one the classic one with
this kind of
cap the price for me is free because I
bought the beer and I keep it the bottle
plus also when you buy the beer buy the
bottle be careful this one if you can
hear from the sound
the capup is in plastic this
one the sound is very
different because the capup is ceramic
much better so if you can better to buy
like this the price for a botle like
this is uh more or less $3 because six
bottle cost $20
uh and cups we say already $20 uh cups
beer a package $8 so the cost is not so
expensive especially if you keep it
because after you can reuse it again
again again until they don’t drop and
you broke it them so at the end what
does it cost to home brew at home first
of all remember that the tools can last
forever if you are
a normal people and not the animals that
you destroy everything this thing can
last maybe 10 years especially the glass
bottle this tools I had this tool from
my father in his house that probably
last 30 years
so a fermenter is forever and plus
remember that you can use it not only
for the beer but also for the wine
because when you follow my recipe and
you make uh 10 lit of wine you can store
in this kind of bottles and for you it’s
okay you will not make uh 100 lit of
wine because you have not the space you
have not the tools you have not the time
you have not the ingredient but with
this small fermentor and these tools you
can make different kind of wine now in
Italy is the time of the strawberries
you can make strawberries wine in your
country you can find banana
pineapple uh apples you can do all this
kind of wine following my recipe on my
channel but now let let’s see how does
it
cost a beer in the states it’s not so
easy to check the price of the beer in
the
States because uh it’s illegal to sell a
online so you need to go in specific
shop so checking on Amazon I find this
beer with alcohol zero so we can compare
like you can see one bottle like this
also if you see in the picture is a
account cost
$5 a bottle like this homade cost only
2.7 so homade is
cheaper but some people will complain
about the tools don’t worry if you
subscribe to the channel and you follow
the channel at least every month I will
post a video about fermentation could be
beer could be wine or other stuff so
don’t worry plus if you are new on the
channel and you check my old recipe you
can uh do a new recipe at least every
week for different
years so okay guys remember to subscribe
to the channel to leave a like it to
watch and share this video with your
friends if you have some opinion some
advice right down in the comment let us
know also the price of the beer in your
country spectacular

  1. Here in the states it is fairly easy to buy used equipment at a good price from those who no longer want to make their own beer and wine.

  2. I live in Thailand where I locally buy malt imported from my home country, Belgium and pay 125 THB or USD 3.43 Castle Malting Pilsner 2rws for 2.5 lbs… that's the retail price for 1pound but I usually buy 25kg bags which makes it cheaper about 1USD 1 pound or 55 USD for 25kg(55 pounds)

  3. nooooooooo!!!! i can get a pint of big ballard for like $2.95 usd at the corner store😭. i bought a 10lb bag of two row pale malt and started making my own munich/crystal(from it) to make it cheaper but its tough not being able to buy in industrial bulk or at least wholesale. i hate how crafting/diy has become its own industry😅😅

  4. I homebrewed for about 15 years before moving onto other things. I started out with the buckets, and bottles, etc. I hated sanitizing bottles and dealing with caps so I went to kegs and that brought on more cost. Then my brewing method went from one burner to two burners, water testing, better fermenters, temperature controllers, yeast starters, etc. Then added pumps. The desire to keep improving my process added more and more cost to my homebrewing. But it was worth the cost IMO. But yes, you can brew beer cheaply for sure. However, its hard not keep improving the process.

  5. Sir i was told you to make a video about how to make vodka at home so please make this video that how to make vodka at home ❤️

  6. my calculation is different:
    last session, 26.5 L final produce @6.5%ABV = 34.03eiuro
    1 btl coast 64 cents.
    malt1=9.504euro
    malt2= 1.242euro
    malt3=1.29euro
    hops=10euro
    others flavorings=2euro
    yeast= 3euro
    water=tap
    energy=say 10euro

  7. Depending on the brand, I think you can get beer much cheaper in the store than your estimation…… even in Europe. But of course, with economies of scale of industrial manufacturing, store bought beer per unit could cost less than home made. May be you should make a comparison of artisanal beer in store with the home made one.

  8. My Chef,
I up-cycled my molasses container of 20l so all I had to do is buy a R30 bubbler,
I have to say here I bought 5kg rice yesterday to follow your recipe,
Only one tiny problem is yeast, I hope turbo yeast will suffice.

    Great content as usual,
    Keep up the good work,
May I email you again please,

    Ciao Ciao
PS a Casle Lager here is 0.85 USD but because it's produced locally
    Ciao

  9. I do home brewing, cider making and home distilling. I never wondered if it was cheaper or more expensive than if I would buy the drinks. Even if it would be more expensive than buying, I would still be doing it. Because it’s a very creative and satisfying hobby. Sometimes the results are spectacular (😀), sometimes they’re not so great. You learn every time, even if you’re doing it for years. To me, it's the journey that matters not the destination.
Keep up the good work, I love your channel and I learned a lot from it.

  10. In Argentina an average IPA beer is usd 2.80/liter returning an empty beer bottle you have, otherwise you pay the extra. A 475 cc IPA CAN usd 1.60 each. Pilsen is 1 usd per 475 or less when sale is on, so it doesnt make much sense to brew in my case. Also Malbec wines 750 cc start around 3 usd per bottle and are good daily wines. More expensive wines of course for special ocasions are available range 10 usd up. Being a wine producing country prices are affordable.

  11. Producing and drinking such craft beer is more enjoyable than drinking beer produced by a brewing company. Costs in such a case are of secondary importance. Cheers!!! 🍻

  12. It depends on how much alcohol is in the beer. When I make imperial stouts, or barley wine I use 3-4 times the ingredients.
Specialty hops and yeast are also more expensive.

  13. To make good cheap beer, use 1 pound dry malt extract, 1 gallon water, and 1 ounce hops. Just a bit over one dollar per pint.

  14. My friend, You very surprised me with these high prices for all this stuff! I am from Belarus , maybe you know this state, that being under hardest sanction in history, that was imposed your goverment. But nevertheless I get, for example yeast S 04 by 4,61$ for 11,5g (full bag), hop East Kent Golding by 2,61$ for 50g, domestic malt by 1$ for 1kg with grist, belgian malt 2,7$ for 1$ with grist. And I don't even tell about prices for water end energy! My month bill for electricity is maybe 10$, for water maybe either. Refuse of russian gas says in Europe. And that is only begining☝️

  15. Stay with Euro. This is, after all, an Italian channel. Who tf wanted prices anyway. Who gives a sh*t.

  16. In Latvia price for 0.5L bottle which is drinkable is about 1.50Euro. I make my own beer and it is cheep. Only problem for me is – beer in the bag/ filtration. I think about – how to make press for that! Think about it! You finish with mashing and just add everything in fine mesh filter and squizz it with lever… Nice. I use 3 stage filtering and it killing me. I hope I will make it – the perfect quick filter! Thank you! 🍻

  17. in our country (czech republic) is making homebrewed beer significantly cheaper than to buy some. considering that you can play with it, make different beers with different flavours etc. it is definitely worthy to start…

  18. Great video for those who are CONSIDERING brewing their own beer or making their own wine. Two quick thoughts: Price is not really as important as the STARTING COST that someone who has never brewed a beer MIGHT face. And certainly, all the equipment and tools can be used again and again. BUT if you need to buy kettles, burners, fermenters, and bottles, hydrometers and equipment to cap bottles … THAT can be a bit frightening. BUT, as you say, there is no need to buy EXPENSIVE equipment as if you are a commercial brewery or winery. Begin by making 4 liters (1gallon) and you probably have much of the equipment at home, already.
The other thing is, that even a novice maker of beer or wine maker CAN brew a beer or make a wine that is very much better than any beer or wine that they are likely to buy. So, again, price is really not the main issue, if with basic equipment, and good ingredients and with care, you can brew a fine artisanal beer or wine – if they follow your recipes and your procedures.

  19. Hi, I have had 2 spells of home brewing in my life. Thoroughly enjoyed at the times. I always used bottled spring water, always malt extract instead of sugar. (Sugar gives a headache, malt extract doesn’t).
In my first spell back in 1978 – 1983, I boiled up the grain and hops. Second spell I used Woodford’s kits replicating there range of beers. I always did 5 gallon brews, putting the beer into a plastic barrel
and had a gas bottle to ensure pressure maintained. However, it was the hardware that failed rather than the beer and it became too frequent that the barrel top would split. That second spell was 1998 – 2003.
