This is the story of a wine touring visit to the Lugana DOC region, the vineyards, the wineries, the winemakers, enjoying its wines and food. It is a beautiful wine region with lush vineyards, a few hundred wine producers and some charming towns. Desenzano and Sirmione are lovely on the lake. Lugana was also the site for a 19th century battle, commemorated by the San Martino Tower (Torre di San Martino della Battaglia).
