it’s a lady in London here today I’m
coming to you from Sicily and I want to
show you my favorite places on this
island in the Mediterranean this part of
Italy is famous for being home to places
like poo tmina Mount Etna sakuza and
ortigia Noto Ragusa katania and more I
can’t wait to take you around and show
you the highlights as always the full
itinerary and details are on my blog a
lady in london.com but first let’s go
see what we

find my trip starts in poo where I check
into a hotel with an amazing rooftop
Terrace I’ll put a link to it in the
description of this video on
YouTube I’m here with my other half and
from the hotel we grab a quick bite to
eat at a street food stand where a
delicious eggplant sandwich goes down
the treat
[Music]
from there we’re off on an amazing
3-hour street food tour with a
local he’s enthusiastic and
knowledgeable and he takes us to one of
the most famous markets in the city he
also lets us try all kinds of local
[Music]
Specialties from Golden orang CH rice
balls stuffed with pistachio to
sandwiches made with spleen we try a
range of local
[Music]
Foods in between bites he takes us to
important sightseeing destinations like
the Quattro intersection and the Fontana
ptor Fountain we also see amazing
historic churches that date back
centuries

we end the tour how any good food tour
in Sicily should end with espresso and
canoli from there we take a walk around
the port and see the marina
[Music]
Fountain Marina is the largest Musical
dancing sound in Italy and it’s amazing
to walk around it and take in the scene
[Music]
when Sunset comes we head to the highest
rooftop bar in poo and enjoy the
spectacular views As We Sip cocktails
and have a PA ofo

we cap off our first day in Sicily with
a great home style meal at a restaurant
in
[Music]
poo the next morning we enjoy breast on
the beautiful rooftop Terrace of our
hotel before doing some sightseeing
we’re near the cathedral so we start
there it’s one of the most
architecturally significant buildings in
Sicily the Normans built it on top of a
mosque in 1148 and it’s amazing to see
the history
here from the cathedral it’s a short
walk through the Villa bonano Park to
The Palazo de Norman or Norman Palace
once the seat of the kings of Sicily
this huge place is home to tranquil
Gardens and a stunning historic Carriage
that makes me want to channel my inner
Disney
princess but the real treat is the
capella palatina this 12th century
Chapel features everything from stunning
Byzantine mosaics to Norman and Arab
Design Elements it’s a unique
representation of Sicily’s Rich cultural
history

back outside we continue our day with
some sightseeing and a trip to one of
Sicily’s most famous street food
markets this place is a long narrow
Street full of delicious food it’s an
amazing place to walk through and an
even better place to taste

after the market we round out our time
in palmo with some more sightseeing and
some sweet treats

our last stop is the famous teatra
masimo Theater which featured in the
final Godfather
movie after picking up our rental car we
drive to the next stop on our itinerary
chefalo is a beautiful Seaside Town
that’s famous for its 12th century

Cathedral the Waterfront is beautiful
and the historic streets along it are
packed with shops and
[Music]
restaurants from chalu we drive to
Tarina one of the most popular places to
visit in Sicily
we arrive at Blue hour and find amazing
views from our hotel and its restaurant

we spend the whole next day in Tarina
discovering the highlights we start with
an amazing breakfast at our hotel before
heading down into the town
[Music]
once we arrive we discover everything
from ancient ruins to highend boutiques
and beautiful
[Music]
Ceramics we visit the beautiful Park in
town and Tak in the views as we make our
way down to the shore in is laella
[Music]
[Music]
we spend a while walking along the
Waterfront and soaking up the sun before
taking the cable car back up the hill
[Music]
once there we walk down Corso Umberto
between pora Katana and Porto
mesina we sightsee we shop we have lunch
and we check out the S Dominico Palace
for Seasons Hotel where the second
season of White Lotus was filmed
[Music]

[Music]
we also explore the teatra antio de TOA
an ancient Greek Amphitheater built in
the 3r century BC the ruins are
impressive iive and it’s inspiring to
think that both the Greeks and the
Romans were
[Music]
here when we need a rest we stop for a
classic Sicilian ganita at bambar this
place also featured in White Lotus and
we sit at an outdoor table to enjoy
raspberry shave ice with cream and sweet
bios afterwards we can’t help following
it up with a gelato
[Music]
in the evening we go for cocktails at a
famous Rooftop Bar in
[Music]
town we follow drinks with dinner at a
local place that serves Sicilian
specialties
[Music]
the next morning we get picked up from
the hotel for a tour of Mount Etna with
a local
[Music]
guide he takes us along the Monty
sorious Trail and we’re excited to hike
over The pebbley Lava on Mount Edna
from relatively flat ground with local
flora and fauna to the seven craters
formed during the 1865 eruption we
experience a range of terrain while our
guide tells us about the volcano and its
[Music]
history after the hike we drive over to
a local wiery where we do a tasting and
a big lunch it’s the perfect post hike
meal
[Music]
back in tmin we take an evening stroll
through the streets and end up at a
rooftop bar at sunset
[Music]

after drinks we find ourselves at dinner
in a little Courtyard on a side street
it’s one of the best meals of the trip
and the local seafood is
[Music]
unbelievable the next morning we’re up
early and we drive to syracusa this City
on the east coast of Sicily is known for
its ancient Greek and Roman ruins and
the stunning island of Oria we start
with the
former sakuza is home to one of the most
important archaeological sites in all of
Italy there’s everything from an ancient
Greek Theater to a limestone query here
and it’s spectacular to take it all
in when we’re done seeing the ruins we
head into Aria and have lunch at a local
restaurant we do some sightseeing
afterwards and walk around the small
Street in the old

town there’s a lot to see here from a
cathedral that was built on top of a
greek temple to the hulking Castle on
the
[Music]
sea we go to a local Museum Museum to
get a feel for the history walk through
the narrow streets and soak up the scene
in Patza DMO we also take in the
fountains and the views from the water
front

when hunger calls we get Gelato at a
local place called Don
[Music]

at Sunset we find ourselves at a
Waterfront bar for cocktails afterwards
we try some more of Si’s famous wine at
a local
[Music]
anota we round things out with a great
dinner in
town the next morning we make a quick
stop to see caravaggio’s burial of St
Lucy painting then make our way to Noto
this town in Sicily’s interior is known
for its Baroque architecture that’s
because it was rebuilt after a major
earthquake in
1693 it’s easy to spend an hour or so
walking around the streets visiting the
cathedral and soaking up the scene

while we’re here we stumble upon a
delicious Bakery and we can’t help
having a bit of a
snack back in the car we drive through
the countryside to get to rusa our hotel
here is absolutely beautiful and our
room even featured in the financial
times once we love the artistic style

YouTube like Noto this Hilltop town is
famous for its Baroque architecture but
it’s also known for food and we can’t
wait to taste the specialties

after exploring the Garden in Ragusa Ela
we sto for lunch at a local place which
serves Panini made from ancient grain
bread and canoli made from cow’s milk
for cotta
[Music]
we spend the afternoon walking around to
take in everything from the 15th Century
City Gate to the stunning Cathedral
along the way we pop into local shops
and soak up the views

when the Sun starts to set we have
cocktails Outdoors at a table in the
Square our gin and tonics are made with
local Sicilian gin and they go down a
treat from there we try more Sicilian
wine at a local anota before heading to
dinner at
[Music]
camori camori is known for serving
Sicilian Cuisine with a contemporary
flare and our tasting menus are
absolutely

delicious the next morning we head out
for a wine tasting at CA estate near
Noto
we’re welcomed by friendly resident dogs
before being taken through The Vineyards
and around the wine making facilities by
a
[Music]
[Music]
host after the tour we sit down for
tasting we learn all about the local
terar As We Sip a flight of whites and
reds it’s a great way to learn about
Sicilian wine at the source and we pick
up a couple bottles to take home with us
on our way
out at the recommendation of our host at
the winery we stop in the seaside town
of Avala for
lunch our tuna paninian fries are as
delicious as the views are
beautiful from Avala we continue our
sisly road trip with a drive to Kat this
city is known for everything from its
ancient history to its buzzing
Port we see everything from the famous
gardens to the Roman Amphitheater before
making our way down via alesandro
manzoni to get to the Fontana de alfante
the elephant Fountain and the

cathedral we pop into the cathedral
standing in awe of the Interior even
after all the churches we’ve seen on our
[Music]
trip we walk through the fish market on
our way to Castello orino this Castle is
impressive and we feel a real sense of
history as we walk around
it from the castle we dive even deeper
into katan’s history we visit the Teatro
Romano di Katana which dates back to
ancient
[Music]
times after leaving the ruins we wav to
the famous porar Baldi gate before
walking past the cathedral and heading
for dinner and drinks

it’s a great send off and the perfect
way to end our trip to
