OFA it’s a grape that everybody loves
usually produces wines that have soft
plush mouth feel more Blackberry black
cherry type flavors just with a hint of
mocha even without Oak aging Modera City
and soft Tannon so it’s not really
sharper or not too this grape is late
ripening it’s high in alcohol it’s plush
it’s very friendly it’s widely available
in Supermarket shelves all around the
world the most famous wine that’s made
up of this grape is multiple CH deuto
it’s an Appalachian that was created in
1968 they’re about 10,000 hectar of
Vineyard so that’s about 25,000 acres in
a Bruto right on the Adriatic Coast

Matt, I always enjoy your videos on Italian wines. I have a question. What is the difference between the Sangiovese grapes (hybrids?) that are grown in Abruzzo vs Montepulciano for VNDM vs Montalcino for BDM. I understand the geographical difference (been all over that part of Italy), but what are the differences is the respective grapes? Might be worth a short YT? Thanks, Ted Ryan.
