hey everyone
so today i’m making a marinara sauce
with my mom
we’re making spaghetti and this is a
very very fast
very quick and easy recipe to make
homemade italian sauce for pasta and
again for those of you at college this
is very very easy so let’s get started
okay so the ingredients for today are
main ingredients is
olive oil olive oil and
garlic garlic and make sure also that
when you
put the garlic in to make big big pieces
because then
when you take the sauce when you’re
going through the sauce and putting it
into the pasta
it’s easier to take them out so you
don’t accidentally eat the garlic i mean
hey unless you want it
but um so the main ingredients are pasta
obviously any
well i guess we’re not making spaghetti
but um so any type of pasta
um or spaghetti this is the choice
normally for this pasta we just bought
the spaghetti but we left it in the car
oh so i was going to make spaghetti i
told you i was going to make spaghetti
but
then i looked and remembered that it’s
in the car so we are going to do
penne and these are very good brands
that i will suggest this is the barilla
it’s my favorite but schlafani if you
happen to find this is a little bit
cheaper
and it’s also very tasty okay so again
the ingredients are any type of pasta
oregano leaves salt
crushed pepper if you guys like crushed
pepper that it adds a lot of flavor to
it and brown sugar some brown sugar to
add up
to add some okay some more flavor and
then
make sure that the um tomato is
so brand it’s a very very good brand
we’ve tried making this types of sauce
with other
sauces and it just doesn’t come out the
same and then also
some gentle it’s spelled the c-e-n-t-o
that’s another good brand
see it’s a little bit more expensive
that than a tutor
but it’s very good so now let me come
closer let me show you
that the oil has to be a little bit
bubbling and then you know
that it’s ready now if you like if you
like garlic you can chop the garlic in
little pieces
hello hi you can’t chop up the garlic a
very little tiny tiny pieces and add it
into the sauce
so when you eat it you eat sauce pasta
and garlic too so you keep
those bugs away from your body if you
are
a garlic lover but it’s not
suggested if you are a young person you
don’t want to do that
because your breath will not you might
be okay you get out of my kitchen
okay no brother and crazy friends today

now you start the sauce and you might
want to put a little bit of salt
don’t overdo it with the salt it’s
always good to add some more if you need
it
but if you put too much then it becomes
too salt and it’s not pleasant
so this is about right for now that you
can start with
okay then you can add
some of the
of the sugar now this you can measure it
if you want
a tablespoon
this makes the sauce nice and sweet
i prefer brown sugar white sugar than
some water as well
okay so we put the brown sugar now
you’re going to add a little bit of the
crushed pepper so about a handful to
taste
if you like it now if you happen to
have fresh basil
you do not need to put the oregano
this is when it is when the basil is not
in season
then you substitute the basil for the
oregano
right now because it’s summer and i have
some fresh
basil this is a very good
herb to add to the marinara sauce
and you just put it
halfway through you’re gonna have to do
it in the very beginning
and now you kind of let it cook
and then we show you step two how to
cook the pasta because not everybody
really knows how to
really cook pasta you cover it you
simmer it
you simmer the sauce and you kind of
use um if you have an electric oven
stove then you do like a little bit
above medium not quite high
not quite too too slow flame because
then it will never be ready
it’s not a sauce that has to overcook
this is a quick sauce that can be
the base for a lot of dishes we can show
you
another step advanced step
later on how to make the same sauce and
then
add all the ingredients and it becomes
different
you can make it with fish you can make
it with chicken you can make it with
all kinds of other ingredients but and
it will be still the same base
base for the sauce but right now if you
just want
a marinara marinara sauce which a
restaurant
usually churches you depending on on the
upper scale or lower scale of the
restaurant they will charge you 9.95
through 12.95 14.95 for a dish like that
and right now this will cost you about
a dollar for the pasta and a dollar 25
sometimes even 99 cents you could get
this
so with two dollars you basically have a
very nutritious meal
that will be enough for about five
four to five kids teens who are hungry
and then you have to add cheese of
course so that would that would be the
investment
to have in the fridge but if you buy a
big
container of cheese which i have showed
in in the other video before
if you buy a big container of cheese
that looks like this it’s about
it’s about two pounds and then this will
cost
uh probably 9.99 a bj
so you take a little container and
you fill it up and then you put the rest
in the freezer and you will
it will be lasting for probably a whole
scholastic
year depending on how much you use the
pamper
but um if you use it for other
ingredients probably half of the year
but
you have quite a bit of increase of
quantity there okay so on to the pasta
the pie
pasta the water is now boiling it has to
be
very boiling it was at what it was at
high
on the stove and you basically and you
put the whole
the whole box of the box
and then you have to stir it
and you want to add some salt i also
use sea salt because this is natural
salt
i don’t like to use anything that is not
natural so if you
if you have the opportunity to buy the
sea salt even this brand makes sea salt
many times i buy also the italian brand
but this
is also good okay step two will be
coming up
the pasta has been cooking for a good 20
minutes
about 20 20 yeah 15 20 minutes really
doesn’t
take too long if you make sure to keep
it on high and so this is what it will
look like you want to make sure that
it’s not
too overcooked but not too undercooked
just um just right so
yeah taste it to make sure
you have to drain it
and the same amount of time that the
pasta requires
the sauce also requires this is the way
it looks
okay
you pour the sauce
and you might have enough for another
serving for for about two people for
half a pack
you you have enough leftover sauce you
don’t have to put
the whole sauce for this amount for one
pack of
pasta so if you like more sauce of
course you can add more sauce
so it’s all up to you the last step is
adding
the tomato parmesan cheese
i prefer parmigiano cheese versus the
pecorino
because it has more flavor so for a
sauce of this nature you definitely need
parmesan cheese and you basically use it
as much as you like
according to your taste you can you can
make it
for the whole container you can do it
individually
in each of the dishes okay so this is
done

  1. Bravo Bravo ! Its always nice to see a genuine classy lady who not only knows how to cook Italian food correctly , but realizes the right ingredients and the right canned Tuttorosso tomatoes !! ( My favorite also )

    Pay attention to your Mother ..because you'll crave this food your whole life and you'll need to know how to make it HER way when she can't !
