Vicenza, Italy is a great town to visit. Located in the Veneto region approximately 20-45 minutes by train from Venice Vicenza makes a wonderful day trip from Venice or a nice base for seeing the Veneto.
Many US military personel are acquainted with Vicenza with its military base (which is expanding). Here are five things that anyone (but mostly US visitors) will love and hate (well dislike a little bit) about visiting Vicenza, Italy.

  1. GO HOME! build a wall around all of your vile trumpland! for the safety of us, in the rest of the world – STAY ON THE INSIDE!

1/2 italiano.

  3. My wife and I will be visiting vicenza the whole month of July. My plan is to learn as much Italian as I can, be as respectful as I can be, enjoy the beauty and history of the region, and avoid talking about politics as much as possible.

  4. Army guy here, I liked Vicenza. I stayed on base when I visited. I spoke to a number of the citizens and they told me that the protesters were bussed in from farther south.

It is only like 30 min to Venice and Verona. The architecture was cool without a doubt.

The citizens were really nice people, especially compared to my staying in Berlin just before.

  5. What an ignorant comment to call the locals "Crazy"! I think the US should let every country build bases in their US territories and then we will see how CRAZY people can be! Crazy redefined,

  6. I really resent Vicenza. I lived in Padova 10 years ago as part of a work and language course, but then got sent to work in Villa Michelangelo which was totally out of the way of everything and my friends, I was isolated and alone and I just grew to hate this place. I'm sure if I visited again though and stayed more central it'll be better.

  7. I always end up coming by Rick Steves' or your videos on accident, so I just had to subscribe to you as well! Usually I'm just looking up Italian or Greek places I'd love to visit, but this time…I recently & randomly became interested in joining the Army. & Then I learned they had a base in Italy! A blessing from God because idk what else it could be! So I looked up the city & of course you had already done a video on it & even mentioned the Army base! I'm strangely grateful for you honestly. I really like your channel & your love (& experiential knowledge of! &) for other cultures, & your cute family!! 🙂

  8. my son is going to be at the army base for over a year at least thank you for this video helps me understand the city

  9. I was stationed in Vicenza in the 80’s with the 325 Airborne. Best duty station. Vicenza is awesome! I wonder if Del Folgheria and September’s is still there.

  10. I was stationed in Vicenza from 2009-2011. Gotta agree with the convenience of travel to other amazing cities. Venice, Verona, Florence and Bologna are all pretty close, and Milan is only a little farther. Plus if you have a little more time, you can travel down the coast and visit a whole different country in San Marino, which is near a great beach in Rimini.

  12. I'm sorry I get that this video is about 12 years old and you probably heard what I'm about to ask a thousand times but did you say your wife's boyfriend like your ok with that or did you just mean that your wife who has a friend that is a man
