We throughly enjoyed our stay in San Gimignano. It’s much smaller than Florence or Siena so it’s easier to see everything in a day or two. We typically don’t like to rush so we stayed 3 nights and would definitely do it again. I will say this place gets very busy with tourists during the day as it’s a popular day trip destination. That is exactly why we recommend staying here so you can avoid the crowds in the mornings and evenings. It’s only locals around when the tourists leave and that’s when you get an authentic experience and avoid mass tourism. It’s all about being smart and dodging the crowds.
