  1. Moving to Portugal and never looking back except some family visits back to the US. PS, you guys were spot on in everything you said. lived in Tampa for a couple of years, be careful what you wish for.

  2. Love to see what America is going to look like in 100 or so years , it's that bad ppl are moving away , it will probably look desolate

  3. Thank you. Very informative with your cost comparisons. Even the high end in and near Nice, France, HOA dues and property taxes are way lower compared to a similar US property.

  4. I’m unable to find a one month rental in Split’s city centre for even close to the price you quoted. I searched for May, which is getting close to their busy season but not peak! What’s your trick?

  5. I've never figured out why mobile phone plans are so much more expensive in North America compared to just about anywhere else. You'd think there'd be a lot of competition in such a big market.

  6. I worked in schools for over 10 years and the quality has gone down terribly even though schools are quite good. The pay isn't worth the stress and lack of upward mobility anymore.😂

  7. Just remember that where ever you decide to move, it is NOT USA so dont expect things to be the same or work the same.

  8. Eventually the government will penalize those who are living abroad and drawing Social Security.

  9. We have applied for citizenship in Croatia based on ancestry. Will live in Split area. Marjan Park is the best.

  10. The big differences between America and Europe is that in Europe we are less individualistic and have more social consciousness. We also believe that there must be a strong state and that its first obligation is to take care of its citizens, mainly the most unprotected. Another big difference is that Americans put work before everything and look for economic performance in any activity or product, they seem not to understand that you can do things just to enjoy yourself and that sitting on a terrace, drinking a beer and just watching people pass by, is something very pleasant and that the owner of the bar and the waiters are worried about whether you are there for 10 minutes or 2 hours

  11. I'm new subscriber. Thanks for the hard working you guys put into. My husband prefers Malaysia over Thailand. He is pure Texan. When comparing Malaysia to Spain or Portugal, he 100% pick Spain . 😅 Yes , money is talking. The cost of living of SE Asian is much cheaper but its personal choice, quaily is our consideration factor as long as we can afford. Budget and quality should be balanced by our views .

  12. The US spend too much money on end of life care such as paying hundred of thousands of dollars on caner drugs that could only extend ones life for three months, etc.

  13. I have been living in Switzerland and I love it. Europe can be expensive but I prepared for retirement and I can live anywhere I want. Lucerne is my base and I have been enjoying the travel. I meet a lot of great people, especially women.

  14. I am French Canadian. I worked in New York for many years. Now I have retired to France. About your politics, if you think the States are derisive you clearly haven't spent much time in France. Why then do I stay? Clearly, the wine, the food, and the women. 🍷

  15. C'mon you have to compare comparable countries. I work in IT. Presently I live in Vienna, Austria. Overall prices are comparable to my home in San Diego, CA. My electric bill is 238 Euro per month. In fact all fuel is more expensive, especially gasoline. A hamburger is 20 Euro. A cup of coffee is 3 Euro but to get the equivalent in an American style mug be prepared to triple the price. Cars definitely are priced much higher and taxed heavily. Don't get me wrong, I really like living in Europe due to the ease of travel but it definitely calls for a lifestyle change.

  16. Unfortunately, the knock-on effect is also unavoidable . Justvook at the state of Portugal. The wealthy expats pushed the property prices to the level where locals were unable to afford.
The moral side is questionable, although we only live once.

  17. Absolutely agree with you about US politics and I too am wanting to escape that! I always get asked what I think of Trump. All the people asking are horrified that we have someone like that and he gets away with all the stuff. Also food is so much cheaper out of the US, and don’t have the toxic chemicals making us sick. I am looking forward to escaping the US
