Bolognese Sauce

Ingredients:

– 3 tbsp olive oil
– 4-5 cloves garlic, minced
– 1 medium onion, finely chopped
– 1 medium carrot, finely chopped
– 2 celery sticks, finely chopped
– 3 cups passata (strained tomatoes)
– Salt and pepper, to taste
– 1/2 tsp red chili flakes
– 1 tsp Italian seasoning
– 1 tsp fresh basil, chopped

Instructions:

1. Heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat.

2. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 15 seconds.

3. Stir in chopped onions, carrots, and celery. Cook over medium-low heat until vegetables are soft and translucent (about 3-4 minutes).

4. Add passata to the vegetables in the saucepan.

5. Season with salt, pepper, red chili flakes, and Italian seasoning. Stir well to combine.

6. Bring the sauce to a low simmer, then reduce the heat to low. Let it simmer until it reaches your desired consistency, about 4-5 minutes.

7. Garnish the sauce with fresh chopped basil before serving.

8. Allow the sauce to cool slightly (about 5 minutes) before adding the cooked meatballs. Gently coat the meatballs with the sauce.

9. Serve the meatballs and bolognese sauce over cooked spaghetti or your preferred pasta. Enjoy!
