Bmore in the house
Alan, as always, great to see these events you put together from ATWT and GL! Grant Aleksandr has always been one of my top three actors ever!! I don't know if Grant will see these, but back in 2009 I did a scene with you from "Remembering Springfield " in Atlanta, Georgia. It was a highlight to stand next to you on stage. I still have the picture taken of us in my house. Finally, the picture of the Four Horsemen brings back such awesome memories. Simply loved Guiding Light!!
Thank you Alan! Having you start The Locher Room during covid was a definite blessing being able to visit with all our “friends” from Guiding Light and everyone else! And it’s been great getting to know you. ❤ Thanks for celebrating with Grant today!
Thanks for this great interview.
Congrats on 4 years Alan! You've created something great. You have a wonderful interview style; you know the best questions to ask to generate great stories and anecdotes and you let your guests talk. Loved the intro. And of course loved this interview with Grant, he's smart, gracious, interesting, just a joy to watch. Keep up the great work Alan.
Loved hearing Grant talk about their work with animals. Special guy. Thank you, Alan, for reuniting us with these iconic players from this iconic (and best) era of soaps. It’s really so comforting.
Wow… what a show. I think Grant is the best. I remember the day in ‘82 when he first appeared, sat on the couch, and said his first line.
I remember the last day that Guiding Light aired i cried like a baby all day !!!! This interview with Grant made my day . As I sat here listening to this interview and reminiscing about the individual episodes that put a smile on my face. I think one of my favorite episodes was with a Lionel Richie song played at the prom.
Congratulations on four years and a great interview Alan.
Having left “Baltimore Adjacent” (Port Deposit, Maryland) 50 years ago I was surprised to hear that Grant’s model friend was Ted Marchibroda Jr, the son of the late Colt head coach.
I was especially pleased to hear Grant’s take on the saintly people that shelter and comfort our precious animals.
What a wonderful show. So many memories and great stories! And many thanks and congratulations on four years of great shows!
Congrats on 4 YEARS !!! Been there with you from the beginning. I also spent my COVID lock down re=watching ATWT, GL & AMC – in order or not in order, it was great. I do catch General Hospital still today but am so happy I have You Tube and The Locher Room. Love love love Grant. ❤
Happy Anniversary 🎉
He has held his age beautifully.
Someone like Grant and his wife who care for animals like they do can't be half bad.
Didnt catch the live, but this was incredible. Thanks Alan and Grant!❤
I’m sorry that I missed this. But glad I’m seeing it now. I would have loved to have asked a Grant if it’s true that after Guiding Light ended that he tried to get it back on the air. I wish he would have been able too do that. I stayed with a Guiding Light since I was a kid watching Bert and Papa Bauer And Burt. It ended way too soon. So many people still miss it, including me. It was better than any of the soaps that remain on today. Thanks for having Grant on today Alan.
Is that a portrait of Philip behind Grant? I'm half-kidding but great interview!
I love theses podcasts Alan. Thank you. Happy Anniversary. Great to see Grant.
Just watching this now . Happy 4th anniversary .
So nice seeing Grant again, I just loved him on GL, yes there was a time he was gone, and it was sad, then when he was back,,,Oh we were so happy, and to see him and Beth get back together; they really both belonged together on G.L…, hoping like someone else mentioned, that it would be nice to see him on one of the Soaps, again!! and so happy he rescues Animals, anyone who does that truly have a big heart, so many sadly, are homeless, and need a Good Home!!! Thank You and Sherry for that. 🐅🐈🐈⬛
Mr. Locher, thank you for sharing your conversation with us!
I feel as though I’m listening to two friends catching up and reminiscing about life and the pursuit of happiness!
Congratulations on your 4 year anniversary.
Mr. Alexander was indeed the perfect guest.
Dear Alan, this is a beautiful interview 👍🏻 Grant Aleksander is a great actor and he has a great soul ❤
Grant Alexander has a presence too ! Remember him more on all my children. ! He is a great talent from the daytime tv world ! Amazing interview Alan Thank you
I loved him on "All My Children."
Congratulations Brother
Thanks!
This was a terrific interview. Grant is a classy and hugely talented guy. Love your channel.
Grant can be great on any of the 4 remaining soaps on TV today too!
my parents pulled me out of 'public' schools, too! i was having WAY too good a time, & mr popular; F grades in classes i should have passed. i was xferred into private schools immediately . . . great & informative interview!
Congratulations on 4 yrs. It has been such a joy to watch. Grant gas always been one of my favorites. I love these videos to catch up on what he's doing. He mentioned hearing someone at the Oscar's talk about their teachers. That was Billie Eilish whose father Patrick O'Connell played Neil Everest on GL.
I'm with you , Alan… the Philip/Rick/Beth/Mindy foursome was the storyline that got me hooked on GL.
Great interview. And, you even threw in AMC & Capitol (which I watched but did not have on Bingo card) too. That said, when you showed Phillip at the Springfield Country Club I wanted you to play it full volume & for you & Grant to be quiet. LOL!!! I started watching GL around 1978. Great memories. Keep up the good work.
I really enjoyed this interview. His differentiation of a "star of show" and a "heart of a show" was quite interesting, especially a show like "Guiding Light" where a "heart of the show" was integral.
I do really like Kim Zimmer as an actress, but I do believe that Reva Shayne's presence on GL did contribute to GL drifting from possessing a moral center/"star" of the show.
Now that I really look back at it, especially after Maureen Bauer's death, Michelle Bauer and her father Ed should have remained the heart of the series with those other characters' lives revolving around them. Jerry verDorn did deservedly become that much needed "heart of the show" with time and a fabulous actor he was indeed.
Now that I look back at it, as beautiful, charismatic, charming, and talented as she is, I believe that too much focus on Reva really hurt "Guiding Light" and was not really as needed. With the right actress, I would have made Michelle Bauer a doctor or nurse and focused the series more centered around her…with the right actress in the role. I would have preferred maybe Tamara Braun, Joie Lenz, Rebecca Budig, or Natalia Livingston in the part of Michelle for example.
Regarding Michelle's mother, I would have had Maureen's heart go to Annie Dutton back then. Perhaps, since Michelle's biological mother Claire Ramsey was mischievous enough, the writers didn't feel that it would be good to have Michelle deal with both Claire and Annie.
Grant, you look the exact same as you did in the 80s when I would run home from school to watch The Guiding Light at 3pm. We got out at 2:50. lol
What a wonderful in-depth interview. Shout out Beasty Feast, my dog also loves it there! So many parallels. I was even named after Grant Aleksander. Happy Anniversary Alan! ❤
Happy 4th Annicersary Alan and the Locher Room! You treat your guests with such kindness and respect, just a great great interviewer! Loved the intro. Always good to see Grant, hes a great talent, a humble and class act guy whose graced our TV screens for over 40 years This was a great interview and talking about all those fabulous former co stars was an added bonus!
Beverly was the true Baraness in fact her picture should appear in the dictionary under Baraness
He will always be Phillip incredible job Grant! Thanks for the memories
Soap actors are the best in the business IMO and they always seem like the best quality people
Grant was the perfect guest for this celebration! The 90 minutes flew by! I loved how much time he took responding to each name you threw out. So, So good. The Locher Room was such a blessing to us as we navigated the pandemic, and it is still a blessing today. Congratulations, Alan!
I have so enjoyed these segments since the beginning Alan. Thank you so much for all you do. I wish Paramount Plus would reboot GL even a limited series i.e. 10 episodes a season.
Grant looks awesome as ever
I hear that they are talking about creating 2 new soap operas for day time. Instead of creating they need to bring back GL and One Life to Live.
Grant is truly awesome
