Ashley Boynes-Shuck – Year in a Review 2019 (note: song repeats and video keeps going with new pics)
I don’t know how I will top 2019 … it’s going to be tough to say goodbye to this year!
We visited Italy, NYC, Utah, and Las Vegas. And I went to Columbus twice. We hiked in Zion National Park and Fire Valley State Park, swam in the Tyrrhenian Sea, boated to the Isle of Capri, Varenna, Bellagio, and on Lake Como, (and in Conneaut Lake!), and kayaked at Lake Mead and along the Amalfi Coast. We rode buses and chair lifts in Annacapri, rode Vespas and tasted wine in Tuscany, and strolled through the Ancient Ruins of Rome. We saw the Last Supper in Milan, the David in Florence, and so much more.
I got a new car, a new tattoo, two new piercings, my first Gucci bag, and a real piano. We redid the sunroom; I began taking piano lessons; I continued birdwatching; and I got a promotion at work. Lindsay and I saw Justin Timberlake in concert numerous times … and we were in a selfie he took himself from onstage!
I also went to other concerts with friends and some with my mom: a 2000s hip-hop concert, a Queen show with Adam Lambert, the Jonas Brothers, Carrie Underwood, and Elton John. I had front row at the Bush show and met the band, getting a hug from Gavin Rossdale! Mike and I saw the Mean Girls musical; I also saw the Queen and Beatles shows at the PSO.
I met/fed/pet a sloth for my birthday, dyed my hair purple, lost and found my cat Theo, finished a manuscript and started writing my next novel, raised money for various charities, helped Mike develop his NDOFit website, cheered on my brother in a half marathon, and ran in my first 5K. I am, as always, grateful, thankful, and blessed. Thank you to all who made 2019 so special!!
What a year to end what was both an exciting and very challenging decade. Here’s to 2020!
