If you know this town well, Szewska Street is probably the last place you’d look for a nice meal out. Aside from its location alongside fast food stands and filthy clubs, however, this classy Italian eatery should hardly be a surprise. With pedigree and another winning design job from the team behind the popular Mamma Mia, Boscaiola offers the most stylish interior on the block, full of lovely timber and white ceramic fittings (even making clever use of chain-link fencing), with large windows that bring a bit of sunshine and street theatre to the front tables; downstairs is a beautiful cellar full of wine bottles and wire-brushed brick and stone. The menu is a by-now familiar array of pizzas and pastas, but there’s no skimping on the quality or quantity of ingredients – only on the total of the bill at the end. Classy budget dining, right in the centre.
