Sky Princess: Formal Night, Champagne Waterfall & Crown Grill Steakhouse

It’s the third day onboard Sky Princess, and formal night! We have lots going on today and I try to take you along for much of the fun from tea time in our cabin to the Captain’s Champagne Waterfall and Christmas Tree lighting event before our dinner in the Crown Grill specialty restaurant. This was another wonderful day onboard a Princess ship, an experience unlike what you’ll find on other lines. Enjoy!

Good morning it is day three and our room service was delivered we actually got four cups of coffee instead of a pot today all right and then oranges yogurt and breakfast sandwiches down there good morning it is day three and we’re at se today it’s formal night it’s

Actually a pretty busy day overall and we had our clocks jump forward while we were sleeping so I thought I ordered breakfast for 8:30 to 900 and it was actually 7:30 to 8: it was 8:30 to 9 ship time time but in our world it was still way earlier so about 11:00 right

Now we’re about to head out our day plans include tea time is at 3:00 and I would like John to experience that that’s not something you find on other lines especially not Royal we do have the option of requesting tea time in our cabin which I think I’m going to call

And ask for but since it’s formal night we also have Kip’s being delivered at 4: 3:00 we would have tea time 4:00 we would have ordures 5:00 is the Elite Lounge 6:00 is the captain’s welcome party and champagne waterfall and then we don’t have dinner scheduled

Tonight until 810 and that’s going to be in Crown Grill so I’m actually glad we booked a late dinner because with backtack snack times basically we should pretty much be good on food all day I told you last night we stopped by the casino and I’m not really sure how this works because

My onboard credit of 150 has not appeared on my journey account I think is what they’re calling them but the 150 I charged to my room for the amount that I should have had a credit did post and then I had a $300 and something doll credit on the machine

When we left and it just when I said cash out didn’t print me a ticket it just said it’s been added to your bank well that’s not reflected on my journey account and we’re fairly certain that there is a separate Casino account that you close out at the end it’s been so

Long since I sailed with princess that I can’t remember exactly how it works so we’re going to stop by the casino and make sure that the money I had on that machine went to my name and also that the 150 is applied to my journey account

Where the charge I posted is anyway our day is going to be pretty busy back to back we’re going to dress up for formal night and we want to be dressed up for that by the time we go to the captain’s Circle so while we have tea time and

Canipes we will get ready and then show you the fun of this evening they are doing a firsttime cruiser event and John wants to go so I’m staying up one level and I’ll film anything cool that happens but he’s going to go down there and get his raffle

Ticket so what happened those slips of paper say the reason I’m here is 10 wordss or less that was not a r f that was like a some random thing but did you talk to anyone who no everybody’s down there writing that in there I think everyone they’re giving Something is that the same thing you got yeah so then what are you supposed to do after that WR didn’t and put it in the bucket you wrote and put it in the bucket yeah and did you put your name and state room number no they don’t have

First time Cruiser thing did you think that was worth your time it was a okay it was interesting first we didn’t know how he was supposed to register to be there and then it turned out as long as you were in the Piaza they just knew because of your medallion it is about

2:00 and we just got back from being out on the ship it started out real strong in the casino things only went downhill from there I really should have cashed out as soon as my free play was gone cuz I was up uh $600 I think I’m still up

300 the deal with the onboard credit is I said onboard credit when I went to the casino host post yesterday so she thought I was meaning onboard credit not Casino credit so you don’t use your stateroom account or charge to The State Room to apply your Casino credit you ask

The host and she looks you up on the list and applies it to your medallion or whatever I thought I had 150 free play and I had 300 which was awesome but you have to cycle it through before you can cash out so what we did is we sat at

This Rino machine and they have this special feature it’s 10 20 or $50 and then you get three spins and you have a 25% chance of bonusing I did several $20 spins a few $10 spins and like three or four $50 spins and on the 10 and 20 I

Bonused the $50 ones were so brutal it was unbelievable for a $50 spin I made I think $9 back so it was really bad but on a $10 spin I made over 300 whatever that was fun and used up my free play I would absolutely never spend $50 of my

Own money on a spin but since I had to cycle it through the machines anyway I just went ahead and tried it now I know not to do that again with my own money so after the casino they had the welcome to princess for firsttime Cruisers event

A lot of people showed up but I think they said there were like 1100 first-time Cruisers this time people won spa treatments and eff bag which is really like that is the worst thing you could win as a firsttime princess Cruiser that person may never come back

After their experience in fie they got a $200 credit and they’re going to go in there and be offered a $5,000 thing that’s worth 1,000 and they’re not going to know that if you shop in there you’re supposed to barter and never pay more than half of what they have it listed as

I mean just just such a bad look for princess to promote that to a first-time customer but everything else they gave away seemed valuable and I think it’d be worth it if you’re taking your first princess Cru to at least show up there and be in the atrium so that you can

Register with your medallion and potentially win it was a good technology demonstration and they probably should have leaned on that more I probably should have said you just have to show up to participate because that’s all you did but by being there your your medallion which I just took

Off is knows where you are and they they’re picking they’re drawing from that they did a Q&A and somebody asked what princess’s Environmental Policy is they basically focused on food waste in the response they were funny about it they made it into a joke which was

Hilarious they said this ship is a zero waste ship nothing goes overboard and in the past when we had food waste we would sell it to Royal Caribbean but now we have a process where it basically reduces all food waste down to a powder well as far as I know they used

To process it down into pellets or bricks and distribute it in the water which fed the fish so are we now to believe that not providing our pass along food waste to the animals or the fish is better we use and waste so much food not giving the leftovers to the

Next level down on the food chain is an improvement I am not understanding maybe I misunderstood what the old process was but I don’t think that making sure we don’t give any food the fish is a better policy than the past someone please comment and tell me if I’m wrong this

Morning I said our clocks jumped forward an hour so in our heads cuz we were asleep it was 7:30 in the morning and our phone started ringing John picked it up and it was Guest Services calling to see if we still wanted to go to the chef’s table Lumiere which we’ve decided

Against and I’ve explained so he just told her no thank you but that means we would have been able to attend and they are hosting one on this cruise and at least I guess 12 people signed up for it we are going to end up using that same

Amount of money toward several dining experiences tonight’s dinner at Crown Grill will be the first I used the app to ask I don’t know who they route the text to but it sounds like there’s some kind of smart system in there and depending on what you type in the

Message it’ll route to the right place so for example if you respond to a question from the Wake show and you say Wake show in that message it gets routed to Matt the cruise director so I said hello how do we schedule tea time for our cabin which is an Elite member perk

And they said please call room service so I did it’s 2:00 so we’re only an hour and a half away I I was not expecting them to be able to accommodate it today I thought we would schedule for another afternoon but she said oh we can get you

Set up for today do you want coffee or tea and do you want everything that comes with tea time I said yes please we’re doing coffee so I have done tea time in the dining room and in the sanctuary before but I’ve never had it

In our cabin so that will be really nice you don’t have to be elite to attend if you want to go to the dining room and I would highly recommend it it’s one of the very classy offerings that princess has and I haven’t seen it on any other

Ship thank you very nice thank you Wow oh yeah you’ve never tried their scones you’re in for a treat all right here is our in room tea time service and we actually chose to do coffee and they brought us two pots just I have a sparrow over there so these are the princess scones and then underneath that we have

The jam and butter y stuff here are the finger sandwiches variety sandwiches the pastries and cookies wow and they brought us a selection of Splenda cuz I told them that’s what we wanted and we are going to keep that for the rest of the cruise okay now of course we’re diving in

Here this is really good these little scones are really good so first he tried it with the cream coddled cream or whatever I said no you’re supposed to add the other thing too H is a hell of an organizer she’s not a very good tour guide no cuz after

After I’m sort of going oh let’s do something she like oh yeah you’re supposed to add this she didn’t mention oh yeah these are kind of the famous thing on princess oh yeah this is kind of what they’re known for yeah I show you why yeah really really good it has been years

Since I had tea time on Princess and this is like delicious and just as I remember you guys I just put that we wanted to try the canipes for each option and we got one of each oh my God that is so ridiculous I can’t even believe

It wow princess that compared to the tea time is just hilarious okay we’re in the elite lounge and while we were riding an elevator this afternoon we met a guy who had a shirt on with the sces logo that’s on the other side of our medallions and John said oh do you work

For The Medallion company and the guy said internet but don’t don’t ask me if you’re having problems with it I’m trying to make it work but just don’t talk to me about it they don’t have the bandwidth to have good service what he have 3,000 people on 200 megabits and he

Said trying to go up to 400 we’re doubling it to 400 and he’s just he said he’s been climbing the satellite ball or whatever trying to fix it and so we had noticed over the past a couple days we’ve been this is day three on board we’ve been here in the elite lounge

Every night we had a drinks each night they’ve never shown up on our Tab and they have been using pen and paper to write down orders and things like that ever since we got on board including at the island yesterday our Internet’s been working fairly well especially considering it’s princess and I kept

Warning John like just have no standards at all have no expectations because you won’t be able to do anything well it surprisingly has been functioning a lot of the time for us functional well now that we’re in here tonight we ordered our deep sea martinis cheers and they actually put our order

Into their handheld tablet I swear we didn’t even coordinate that that was pretty good um they put her order into this handheld tablet for the first time which makes me think the guy that was working on the system fixed it for crew but now I can’t open the app not for you

I can’t get into The Medallion app anymore and yeah Internet’s been acting really strange so I’m hoping that it’s it’s not one or the other like the crew has service or we have internet but something is fishy right now there’s a captain’s champagne waterfall happening

At 6:00 so we’re going to have our drink here and head to the atrium so that we can have a nice view of that we have almost tried the whole Elite Lounge cocktail menu we have one left that we haven’t tried cuz each day we’ve been

Trying two each so we just ordered I got Flora the floradora which is this and that has Jin sh bombard lime juice and ginger ale and John got this cherry blossom Garden I got the pretty one yeah that one has absolute Citron sweet and sour and pineapple juice how is

It oh that’s really good tastes like cherry blossom I don’t know what it tastes like but sure cherry blossom Garden close enough I think it looks like a cherry blossom Garden as much as it tastes yeah that’s really really light and yummy delicious yeah the last drink I had in a

Glass like this was the uh what was that the bardier and it’s basically rye whiskey Campari and sweet verou like a shot of each just in the cup and it was like I took it to dinner and nursed it for about an hour and a half anyway let’s try the Flor orora pretty
