Rishi Sunak asked the man whether he worked in business, to which he replied: ‘I’m homeless’. Sunak said he used to work in finance and asked the man if he was interested in doing so. He told the prime minister he was just trying to get through Christmas and find temporary accommodation.

Breakfast you know would you like solstice fantastic now you’ve been here before have you I have yeah yeah it’s a great place isn’t it it’s a perfect job all right well that is exactly what I’m trying to do exactly what I’m trying to do uh the
Basically what what do you have you work in business I’m homeless person but I’m interested in business yeah what kind of business our financial City and um yeah that’s absolutely right so I used to work in finance actually yeah yeah well I did it I did lots of different things
But you’re right because I think it’s a good thing nowadays it’s not just London you look at all the jobs in finance around the UK the majority of them are outside of London now yeah so it’s spread across the UK the law and the association yeah is that something you’d
Like to get into um I wouldn’t mind um but I don’t know I’d like to get through Christmas yeah what’s the plan what are you doing this weekend um no idea I’m hoping that the umun goes can help me get into some temporary accommodations

Considering rishi was once in a similar financial situation (not that bad) as that man. Still he should have been more considerate. I get he doesn't mean to be rude.
If this was a pr stunt, it isn't working.
What if he is homeless but has a job
I don't understand. Did he know that the food is for homeless people or not?
most typical conservative question
RS-"I workes in prestigious hedge funds, soemthinf your interested in?"
Homeless -"Well just going to try survive Christmas"
RS-"ah right whats your plans for the weekend then?" Haha is he for real
Will from the inbetweeners he’s a dope
"I'm homeless"
Rishi: how many Bentley's do you own?
I don't know the context, but to me it just seems like he is treating that man as a human being. One can be homeless and have started working recently, because you have that gap time before getting paid the first time
he should ask if he can work in a hedge fund
He is so embarrassing.
The people who think only homeless people eat at soup kitchens are the real problem moralizing through their smartphones lol. How many of you have actually volunteered at soup kitchens… or anywhere?
PR gone wrong.
Some of you got to chill out. When was the last time you served a homeless person? We need more people helping the poor, politics aside. Rishi is the prime minister of any country I have seen serving food to homeless people.
WHATS THE PURPOSE IN DOING THIS FOR POTENTIALLY FOR PHOTO OP.
Guy bringing the caste system lol
Completely normal questions, you guys are cracked. Are you supposed to treat homeless people like they can’t do anything else except be homeless?
Instead should he have asked questions like how long have you been homeless? When did you last eat?, where will you sleep? Etc why can’t he ask him if he has plans for the weekend or tell home about finance jobs being spread around the UK.
Top interview questions, Rishi, yet you failed to ask how soon he'd be available to start…
A softie
What are you doing this weekend?
I wonder whether he tried to treat him like any other person that had come through
Theres a proverb that goes something like..
"The fed does not understand the starving"
Rishi is absurdly rich, has been for so long that hes lost touch with reality completely and this interaction kind of showcases that he has no idea what being poor even is.
Did he ask him whats your plan for this weekend??? 😳😳 probably find a shelter to not die in cold . Woooooow is he for real???
Sunak is just a ……😂😂😂😂😂
Is Rishi Sunak bonkers asking homeless man what do u do 😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂great joke
The sun is setting on UK, probably permanently.
Freaking hypocrite
He seems awkward but honestly most people would be. I see it all the time and I am sure you do too, someone homeless just gets ignored or if they ask for help people get awkward. I work with the vulnerable population and it takes a lot more exposure than a quick breakfast serving to really grasp the impact that these people are facing. It would be interesting to see if he could survive even one night on the streets, and while they are at it maybe live on Universal Credit for a month or two, move to an apartment block with basic or less than basic needs, that would be a big help in shifting perspectives. You can read that experience in the newspaper or textbook at school, got to experience it first hand. I bet if he did that and then went back to serving hot breakfasts the conversation would be very different.
He could have tried to be human and tried to help the guy to show everyone, he has a heart but nope just wanted to get rid of the guy
“Im homeless”…right so do you live in an apartment then?
Joker
This was literally an excellent opportunity for him to offer at least some temporary support to this guy. "I'll make a phonecall, get you somewhere to sleep for the week, how does that sound?" He obviously has the resources for that. Instead, he distances himself from the guy the moment he finds out he's void of opportunities.
Rich privilege at play
