This week we were blind tasting wines from Italy.

Hello everyone just coming fresh from a a master of wine study session um meet up with a group of friends we not all MW students in fact I’m one of about two but we had um lots of people who are passionate about wine and this week we
Liv to Italy um and tried lots of different things from Italy I have my notes Here making copious notes as much as possible every single week and I thought I’d take you through some of the wines this might end up being a couple of videos cuz there’s a few things to
Talk about um but good fun I like Italian especially blind although the whites were a bloody nightmare I don’t know if you try to get Italian white blind but pretty difficult um this first one was a vermentino from P ped montis this was quite interesting it was um
Full of kind of candied lemon it had batage so nice kind of Le flavor really delicious wine 2021 um something to have a look for vermentino I love anyway but this was particularly delicious um um one of my best scoring wines of the tasting um then we had the really saline
Kind of fresh juicy this had amazing acidity I was actually quite impressed with it I don’t normally like this kind of great Kate I find it quite candied and cling but it was this Vig Lena from Rota Galo is the great variety it’s fully organic it’s 21 again um and this
Was really nice nice pear fruit very zingy fresh juicy great wine um and then we went into a really funky Suave Superior this is from Sandra de Bruno and this was um 2020 I believe yeah 2020 but it had so much going on I had apricot pastry tar cured Apple we had
This kind of buttered sour dough toast creamy leaves bright grapefruit really nice but super mature for its age um and some of that kind of savory honey character that you don’t always find and to appealing I would drink this at room temperature which is kind of fun not
Many whites can get away that it did have good acidity but the maturity means you get more of it as it warms up um so that was kind of fun then we had this chardet which I completely did not guess when you know you’re going to have Italian tasting
It’s really hard to come back to the world of international great varieties this is slightly sweet um but had this all all kind of apple fruit sorry um Apple should have clicked you know shenon sh that sort of thing um not load of vicinity but a really nice kind of
Blossom ELD flower blossom that freshen the whole thing up but that’s quite a nice one if you want a decent shardy to go after um and good price about 13 quid right uh this one was particularly funky trano is normally quite Bland but this is um for trabian
From I think Great Western one this one um but completely organic natural that’s thing um it had loads of honey it was quite full it was very kind of Tangy I guessed it as F alino losing this is what happens if you drink lots of Italian wine you can’t
Speak that is funky weird I didn’t necessarily like it but try it cuz it’s fun um the next one we’re moving on to kind of red wines we started with the bar got too many Wines in front of me here you go so barar the Alba this was
Lovely this was Lo of S cherry kind of really typical style nice bit of sweet licorice which is very interesting um 23 quid so not super cheap but it’s far as barbar alos that’s pretty tasty try that um the real write off is this I spent a
Decent amount of money on this this is Ros demonto chin um but it was really um reductive surprising smell of bacon tasted really kind of sour rustic I guessed it is pinao which is like well away from what it actually is it’s 100% sanasi um struggle with this maybe it’ll
Open up I don’t know I need to go back and try again over the next couple of days um and then we went to the best wine of potting 2018 at noo n mascal Noella capacho that was delicious um juicy long chocolatey fat uh we went back to Barbara concept one
This might go into can at some point who knows b um and then last wines cuz you know we tasted quite a lot this fairly standard Cantina D NE it’s a um Co-op nov pretty fresh violets had some of the typical rumors if you’re going to buy no
I’ trade up but it’s pretty decent um and then we moved in two wines to finish off which I did not get it tool because they are quite odd um you had this Vetti [ __ ] this one a tiny Vineyard super natural funky good Tangy acidity lots of fruit not my kind of
Wine again but if you like that funky natural style where you’re having food with a good bit of salt to offset the acidity give it a g it’s kind of fun love the label fantastic um and then another stand out of the tasting was this it’s
Sistino which is a Negro Maru of the best negro Mario fall under this appellation it’s really delicious uh this is 2007 which is a luxury to try those are blueberry dark chocolate little bit spice Oak that sort of thing um so there you go lots of Italian wines
