Don’t try this at home. I’m a professional. Wait until you’re 18, if you want to join IFOCE, MLE, but other than that keep eating, don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t beat me, don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t beat any of us.”

STORYLINE:
In New York’s little Italy neighbourhood Friday it was “how many cannolis can you eat” competition day.
This year’s contest drew men with names like; “Crazy Legs” Conti and Nathan “Nasty Nate” Biller.
Another man, Ed “Cookie” Jarvis, who used to be a competitive eater but dropped out to lose some weight, hung around to judge the event.
“To make sure nobody regurgitates meaning an upswing of food. To make sure they eat as many cannolis as they can and be safe,” he said, explaining his role in the competition.
The winner of this year’s contest didn’t have a fancy name and was a relative unknown in the competitive eating world.
Brad Sciullo, who is 21, described how to train for the event. “Try to do good food training, drink about a gallon of water a day,” he said.
Sciullo, who ate 19 canollis in six and half minutes fell far short of the world record of 26 and a half in the same time, set in 2005 by Jarvis.
“But we’re all under supervision of a doctor, shout out to mom who’s a registered nurse and takes care of me on things like that. Don’t try this at home. I’m a professional,” Sciullo added.
Known only to some from its place in movies celebrating Italian culture, the cannoli is sugared riccotta cheese stuffed inside a deep fried shell. Each has about 500 calories.
On this measure Sciullo consumed just under 10,000 calories in his record bid or about four times the recommended daily allotment of calories for an average sized man.
