An old BBQ joint is getting a new life in Mayfield. The owners of Smokin Q’s BBQ just started a new adventure, this time in Italian cooking.

Stephanie Haney stopped by Cuoco Bello to give us all a ‘First Look’ at what customers can expect.

Well, when smoking Qs barbecue closed its doors at the end of last year, it promised to be back soon with the new culinary adventure. Fast forward a few months. And it’s now known as quote be an Italian restaurant located in Mayfield. And I love the music. Oh my gosh, the music. I

I it looks like I might love the pizza. There is what we’re saying. Three new digital anchor, Stephanie Haney has a first look at this concept. Yes. Hello. We are here at Cuoco Bello in Mayfield Village. Your grandma’s basically Italian meals. Let’s talk with uh general manager Zarina

Palmer who could tell us about the philosophy of the food they have here. So our philosophy is we want to be like grandma’s kitchen. All our food is house made. Um Our pastas are house made or most of our pastas.

Um Our desserts are house made. Everything that can be made in house is made in house. All right. So without further ado, let’s get to the food. We’ve got head chef Joe Armano here to talk us through some of the things that are on the menu.

Tell me what we’re looking at here, Joe. Absolutely. So, um, just to showcase a little bit of diff different things that we showcase on the menu. Um, so we have our Margarita pizza, just a very classic old school style.

Um, our pizza is kind of in between a Neapolitan and a New York style. So you can get that nice bottom, uh, browning on the crust, but it’s not gonna, the ingredients aren’t gonna fall off. Um, so it’s gonna be amazing. Amazing, by the way. OK, what do we have right here?

Um So this is our linguine and clams. Uh Another thing to showcase during this Lenten season. Normally it comes with sausage. However, today I made it without, um, so it’s gonna be a nice little uh base of our garlic garlic confit some capers, uh Fresno chilies

And a little bit of uh like a wine butter sauce. Um It’s a fantastic dish. Um And here we have our chopped salad. Uh, again, like your grandma makes it. That’s just kind of throwing everything into a salad. Um That sounds good. So we’re gonna have a little bit of um

Arugula and romaine with some of our roasted tomatoes, pickled onion. Um Our Giard Nara, which is house made, um, as well as some artichokes and marinated olives. Sounds like everything you could want in a salad if you ask me, Joe. And of course, in this season,

You gotta have a fish fry. So tell us about your fish fry. Absolutely. So we do a beer, battered cod uh with our, again, house made French fries. Uh We do a Parmesan dirt on there, which is actually just Parmesan cheese and some cocoa powder. Again to make it seem like

Grandma always had potted plants everywhere. Grandma always had her own herb garden. Um So again, just to showcase a little bit of that with, you know, our, our housemaid tartar sauce and coleslaw, Um very classic, very warming kind of dish. I feel warmed up. That was a,
