Welcome to Sicily, Italy’s southern island nestled in the heart of the Mediterranean. While Italy attracts millions of tourists each year, many tend to focus on its more iconic cities and regions. Sicily is by no means a hidden gem, but it certainly provides a more authentic and less crowded Italian experience. With its alluring mix of ancient ruins, charming coastal towns, and delicious cuisine, this is the Italy we’ve been looking for. We are so lucky that Tommy’s parents are joining us on this unforgettable roadtrip as we go beyond the usual tourist hotspots and immerse ourselves in the Sicilian culture.
Our first destination was the enchanting town of Taormina. In this picturesque, cliffside town, there was so much to do. We visited Isola Bella, a stunning island just off the coast, indulged in incredible dishes like the iconic Bam Bar granitas and pistachio pasta, and delved into the rich history at the ancient amphitheater.
We then headed to Ortigia, a charming island brimming with character and history. Strolling through the streets, we discovered the vibrant outdoor market, where local vendors displayed an array of fresh produce, artisanal crafts, spices, and FRESH seafood. The market’s lively atmosphere was sensory overload, and we couldn’t resist sampling some of the incredible seafood. The culinary scene in Ortigia, especially its exceptional seafood, makes it an unmissable highlight on any Sicily road trip.
Agrigento’s Valley of the Temples stands as an essential stop on a Sicily journey. This ancient archaeological site has well-preserved Greek ruins that transport visitors back in time. We went at sunset for ideal lighting and a great atmosphere.
Erice, a hilltop town in Sicily, is a must-visit destination. With its cobblestone streets and medieval architecture, the town offers a charming and historic atmosphere. We tried the local cookies, which were so yummy. The town’s unique blend of history and culinary delights makes it a memorable stop on any Sicilian itinerary.
We spent a couple nights in Castellammare del Golfo, a charming town on the northwest coast of Sicily.
We ended our road trip spending few days by the sea near Messina, providing a perfect place to reflect on our incredible Sicilian adventure.

Hey guys, best video on Sicily I have seen yet. I've lived in Palermo and absolutely love Sicily and most YouTubers somehow do a terrible job of showing the real Sicily and how amazing the food is but you guys, fantastic! Thank you.
Great candids! Loved this video series. I showed my husband the 34E seafood platter, he is sold!

I’ve been to Italy but never to Sicily. I really enjoyed your video and can’t wait to plan a trip 🫒🍋💕
What an amazing trip guys! Loved the bakery where you got the croissants. Tommy your parents are a great bonus to the videos! Take care 🤗
@sammyandtommy, the excitement I feel while watching your worldly adventures nudges me closer and closer to taking that leap of faith that I feel is sometimes calling me across the globe. The way you incorporate charm, culture and just plain fun into your stories, leaves me wishing I was there with you. I may be more of a country boy at heart, but I would love to find out what I'm like hanging out with the two of you in a place like Sicily. Tommy, I remember a past vlog where you shared how certain cities and cultures were slowly changing how you think about being around people, this intrigues me to wonder if I to would also have a similar feeling.

Video Naples?(Napoli)
Wonderful ❤❤
Watch YouTubers Sara and Luca @LEAW. They are both Italian and living their dream life in Sicily. They can pronounce the coastal town and villages names .
Your videos are nice, looking at all the villages and the foods there. I like the addition closeups of the locals indbespursed throughout.
We live in Sicily, enjoyed this. You stayed in the same hotel we did in Golfo.
Loved your video. How long were you in Sicily for? You covered a lot of the island. How many hours a day were you guys driving? We are heading back there in February for 2 weeks and ended up planning only the north and north east of the islands because I thought it would be to much driving. Should we revisited our itinerary?
Great experience 👍
Love Sicily. I can't wait to be there again .
Where is the Bar Russo Bakery please?
Excellent Thankyou all!
