Centuries ago in Italy many large properties had underground wine vaults into which they directly pressed their grape harvest leaving the juice to ferment and turn into wine. We have one of these at our palazzo in Abruzzo, Italy but due to decades, even centuries of neglect it was filled with stagnant water and causing our cantina (which we use as storage and where we want to put our heating system) to become very damp. Andrew managed to not only empty and clean ours but he also squeezed into the narrow opening of ours and got inside to show you what this looks like.

Caro Andrew, sei una persona favolosa e molto intelligente, perchè solo chi è intelligente riesce a fare tutto con disinvoltura per poter superare ogni ostacolo con imgegno e tranquillità. Chiunque al posto vostro, non avrebbe preso così a cuore questo fantastico palazzo medioevale per ristrutturarlo con un amore assoluto per quei posti fantastici che ricordano racconti di favole. Il vostro progetto va molto oltre al personale, perchè alla fine tutta la comunità di San Benedetto in Perillis ne beneficerà in positivo, perchè avere un palazzo antico completamente ristrutturato dove poter ospitare turisti ed eventi, è un patrimonio di tutti, dando così la possibilità a chiunque di poter conoscere un borgo incredibilmente affascinante dove si respira ancora oggi la storia di epoche lontane. Storia che continuerà ancora per secoli, grazie al vosto incredibile progetto.
