In this video, we’re taking you to Plate No.6 in Windsor, where we’ll be trying out their innovative and creative menu.
Head chef Giancarlo and his team draw inspiration from Italy and the Mediterranean, creating dishes that are bursting with flavor and creativity. And let me tell you, every dish we tried was an absolute delight.
We started with the Spicy Tuna Tartare with Salmon Roe and Homemade Focaccia. The tuna was so fresh and perfectly seasoned, and the homemade focaccia was toasted to perfection. It was a great start to the meal.
Next up was the Argentinian King Prawn with Slow Roasted Garlic and Chilli Desiree Potato, Lemon Sauce. The prawns were huge and juicy, and the thinly sliced potatoes added a wonderful crunch and depth of flavor.
For our main course, I tried the Risotto Milanese with Braised Ossobuco and Saffron Marrow Jus. The ossobuco had been braised for hours and was so tender and rich in flavor. The saffron infused into the meat was a brilliant twist, and the red wine in the risotto added another layer of depth and complexity.
Finally, I tried the Halibut with Lemon Fava Bean Puree, Pure Chard Kale and Baby Heritage Carrots. The halibut was sourced whole, with every part of the fish used – even the bones for stock! The soft white flesh and crispy skin were cooked to perfection, and the lemon Fava bean puree was a surprisingly delicious accompaniment.
Overall, my meal at Plate No.6 was an absolute delight. The creativity and care that went into every dish were evident, and we loved trying out new flavor combinations and techniques. If you’re ever in the Windsor area, be sure to stop by Plate No.6 for an unforgettable dining experience.
