Italian beef is a popular sandwich in Chicago, Illinois, known for its delicious and unique flavors. It consists of thinly sliced roast beef that has been slow-cooked to perfection, often in seasoned au jus (beef gravy), and then placed on a crusty Italian-style roll. It’s typically served with optional toppings like sweet or hot peppers, giardiniera (a spicy pickled vegetable mix), and sometimes melted cheese.

  1. This is the new idea food and beverage businesses are getting vloggers to advertise for them.
    Another scam).

  2. Portillo is not what it use to be. I find the Pizza Nova in Canaryville serves a great juicy Italian Beef

  3. I'm sorry but everyone reviews the same places in Chicago. I think some of the best places for a beef sandwich are on the north side of Chicago. Portillos is hot or miss depending on location and who makes your sandwich. Johnis beefs are getting smaller and smaller and less beef. Just my opinion.

  4. Luke's Italian Beef.
    215 W Jackson.
Excellent beef and a bag of fries as big as your head.😋😋😋

  5. Al's on Taylor tastes very different and a lot better than the other locations. Go to that one. Portillos kinda overrated and pricey. However, their chocolate cake is fire. Try
Michael's Beef House on North Avenue in Oak Park. Excellent classic beef.

  6. Was going to say I have to try that AL’s until you said shredded beef and saw the sandwich. I like my Italian beef to have the beef sliced.
