I’ve been in Italy for 2 whole years now. Life has changed in more ways than I could have ever imagined, and me along with it. I’ve learned a new language, made friendships, and visited places I never imagined I would. It hasn’t been easy, nor has it been fun every single day, but it’s been one of the best decisions I ever made. Let’s talk about what I’ve learned.

  1. 👏As I always say, you're simply a 21th century citizen of the world. Cheers!

  2. Breakups are never easy, I am glad you have a healthy perspective of life after all, Kelly. Keep it up !

  3. Just dropping a comment to say this was so so wonderfully authentic and raw. I’m sure your loved ones are so proud of you for showing such strength during what I’m sure are challenging times.

My brother has lived in Scotland for many years and considers Scots to be up there with the kindest most genuine folk around.

Take care from one 🇮🇪Celt to another 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿.

  4. Very beautifully narrated with that honesty and vivacity that are your trademark.
You have a remarkable ability to understand and convincingly convey experiences places and situations without using stereotypes.

  5. I didn't get the conclusion if there is any. What was the reason for moving out of Scotland to Italy?
    Was it permanent?
Are you staying or going back to Scotland?

  6. Stunning vlog. So beautifully done. Viscerally moving. I could watch more of these – sooo good. Just an outstanding postage stamp for taking risks and carving paths in one’s life. ✨

  7. I am moving abroad very soon and honestly this has helped a little bit with the anxiety around it so thank youuu

  8. I'm about to move home to Australia from the UK and I'm very worried I'll regret the decision, definitely relatable not feeling at home in either place!

  9. This was gorgeous. Well done you. I dont often comment, but your videos have been so healing for me and I am grateful. It is good to hear about the gifts life has granted you in the past 2 years. All the best for another year in Italy!

  10. Hi! I loved this video. I am a teacher of English here in Italy and I was wondering if I can use this video as a listening comprehension for my students. They'd love it too! ❤

  11. Lovely video, thanks for sharing your experience Kelly. I really resonated with your last thought in this video…I'm also an expat (did the opposite journey to you, I'm an italian who moved to the UK about 10 years ago) and I felt I needed a change because I felt stuck in my home country. The UK – as you may know 😛 – is far from perfect, but it is the place where I started re-building my life and my identity, and it is home now. I'll never feel completely british, as I do not feel 100% italian either at this point, but I don't mind the ambivalence. My world got wider, more inclusive and interesting than it was before.

  12. I love this, thank you for sharing 🤍 I relate so much to this, i have been back in my home country for 6 years and about to leave, i spent over 10 years away in a different country and feel like i don’t “fit” in anymore, it’s interesting. 💗

  13. Dear Kelly,
i was wondering why we didn't see your kitchen in the last couple videos and why you seemed so down most of the time. Then you said "oven I'm not used to" and my fear that something was really wrong seemed to be confirmed.
Then I read the last comment under this video and had to comment for the first time.
I am very sorry for you!
But at the same time I am so happy for you that you said this year brought you back to life.
Life is about ending up on roads that are not that beautiful and we never wanted to know existed.
But even these roads have an end and while travelling them there are so many wonderful surprises.

You are a wonderful, funny, intelligent and absolut adorable woman that was gifted with a smile that can lighten up a room and a voice that seems just to be made to speak the italian language.
You go girl, your content helps so many others and this video was so mature and healthy and humble. Thank you for that.

Take care, greetings from Regensburg (or as they say here: the most nothern City of Italy)

  14. Che bello sentirti parlare in italiano ❤ siamo fortunati ad averti qui! Un bacio Kelly 😘😘
