  1. 4.75 for that means the business is making some cash, especially since they're using hormel instead of taco meat.

  2. I went to Brush Ranch Camps as a kid 2 summers in New Mexico. Had this Frito Pie when we took a day trip to Santa Fe. I went to this store both summers and had this 'dish'. Loved it of course as a kid. Honestly, as an adult, I may have thought what he thought (he liked it, just didn't know what the fuss was about). But, knowing they make it all from scratch really does make it special. He didn't do his research saying it is, "Hormel Chili".

  3. What a coward to say he got it wrong after the fact. He started eating it and said it was shit. Coming back later and trying to be politically correct changes nothing.

He has the right to not like everything he eats but rarely is he as harsh toward a dish.

  4. I miss Anthony a lot. I picture him in some martini bar in heaven waiting for his table at the best pho place around.

  5. I pity the fool that uses canned chili in their Frito pie..I make homemade red chili and then eat Frito pies with the leftovers for several days afterwards lol.

  6. I do put frito's in canned hormel chili with some cheese when I'm hungry sometimes. I'll even throw in a dash of hot sauce and some sour cream.
What I don't do is lie to myself and call it frito pie. Or eat it out of a bag

  7. By the way I’ve been there before, it’s in Santa Fe, as it is ironically the most mid version of frito pie ever. The unmelted cheese doesn’t help in this case. I always thought it was invented in New Mexico tho

Btw RIP Anthony, we loved you and will always remember you

  8. God! so much chemical will get released when the heat from chili is applied to the bag

  9. My mother had a recipe for something similar that she called "Mexican Dish" that she got from a friend in the 1960's. I'm not sure of the origin. It's written on a recipe card in her hand. Anyhow, it's chili (no beans) over corn chips topped with shredded lettuce and grated cheese. Served on a plate! No bag.

  10. This was a common delicacy for me when I couldn't really afford groceries; had to cut back on eating it after a nasty bout of gastritis a year and a half ago.

We call these "Chili Fritos" down here in Los Angeles; people would serve them at the liquor store or on the ice cream truck around the block

  11. On King of the Hill, Frito pie is some sort of casserole. I'm guessing it's the same as this, but fancy?

  12. I don't get all the hype about what he said. Sure, he said it felt like a bag of @#$+, but he said it with humor. And he said it was delicious.

  13. We have something very similar in LA expect it’s sold out of ice cream trucks lol

Hot cheetos prepped with cheese sauce and jalapeños

  14. i think my favorite part of frito pie is that it looks the same coming out of you as it does going in you

  15. It’s funny, I’ve eaten Frito Pie all my life and I never knew it was a originally a local thing (I live in Texas). For people to talk like it’s local delicacy is kinda funny, it’s just something you think would be natural.

  16. I went here based on this episode when I was in Santa Fe. Not gonna lie, it was disgusting
