Years ago I would order lasagna at an Italian restaurant and they would have the eggs in theirs. My mother who was Italian never put eggs in hers (so I don't either), but I'm not knocking it, I'll give it a try. 😊
My mother was from Campobasso and she always used hard boiled eggs. Also used to make her own handmade lasagna noodles.
Wonderful!
Yes, hard boiled eggs in many dishes. Does anyone put raisins in their meatballs?
My parents were from Catanzaro and my mom always put boiled egg in her lasagna.
Boiled eggs in lasagna is not my thing, but I don't know why anyone would hassle you about it. That lasagna looks amazing by the way.
Mamma (she's Florentine) always made a red sauce lasagna & a white sauce lasagna. We had a large family with different preferences. She just passed away this spring & I would give ANYTHING to have her here making her beautiful Italian food. #mysoulmate ❤
Try a little cream, ham, and peas in carbonara 😉 Don't worry, it's just a family preference! It's uniquely different, just like the lasagna!
i mean, a lot of people forget that most italian pasta dishes are literally a combination of what you have in the fridge, dont over think it.
I agree! I’ve added boiled eggs many times! I’m not Italian. I know I’ve seen people do it before. it’s a wonderful, hearty addition to any lasagne!
Could work with black olives and raisins as well
My father is from Calabria, we always have boiled eggs in Lasagna.

Looks delicious 🤤 Put them eggs in if it makes the dish good 👌🏾
See where I come from lasagna does not have eggs or besciamella but pasta al forno has chopped boiled eggs.
Do you! I don't see myself ever trying this. Everything but the egg for me! I love all the rest❤
