Eataly is becoming one of the most famous Italian food establishments in the world. Originating in Torino, Italy, Eataly has not only expanded to several major cities in the USA, but it also has locations all around the world. In New York City alone, there are two Eataly NYC locations. There is the Eataly NYC Flatiron location and the Eataly NYC Downtown location. This video will start at the Eataly flatiron location and then take place primarily at the Eataly Financial District location.

If you’ve never been to Eataly, it is a chain of large Italian marketplaces, or you could call them large Italian food halls. Basically, each Eataly location comprises of an authentic Italian supermarket. In addition to the Eataly supermarket, which sells a plethora of authentic Italian foods and imported items, every location also has a few authentic Italian restaurants. These include: SERRA by Birreria, Bar Milano, La Pizza & La Pasta, Il Patio di Eataly, Il Pastaio di Eataly, and Il Pesce.

Since Eataly in New York City opened in 2010, Eataly has gotten lots of hype and praise. This praise may be justified. Or is it all overhype and just generated by snobbery? Perhaps it is just coastal elites who fawn over the authenticity of the dishes and therefore inflate its quality on social media? We will find out together! We will taste the famous Eataly pizza, its cacio e pepe, and its sheep’s milk cannoli to see if Eataly is legit or if Eataly is a tourist trap.

  1. I have been to EATALY in LV. They don't have all that decor by the entrance. Lolz. I would not want to order calamari and get all zucchini.
That pizza is so soggy and the pasta portion looks small.
I feel like going to EATALY is just eye-pleasing to see everything but overhyped.

  2. Pizza Was Inexcusable They Should Be Ashamed Of Serving That Plus The Calamari Again Terrible. I`d Never Go There Myself After This Review

  3. Been to the L.A. one bunch of times ..everytime it was so average very very overrated..and not worth the money

  4. Mostly zucchini, that’s a joke at that price, not much calamari there

  5. I just read your update about paying off your student loan. Congratulations! I just found your channel recently and love your videos.

  6. That pizza looked way undercooked, that pasta size was abysmal. You did a nice job being transparent and letting the viewer make up their mind. Also thank you for taking into account my feedback from your last video – the fork was clean when you showed it on camera and you tried the food nice and hot. Congrats on paying off your student loans, and if you want an incredible pizza and sub experience, Western MA has everything you need. Keep up the great content and I'll be watching for your next video!

  7. Re: canned tomatoes vs fresh for the pizza sauce. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think canned tomatoes are actually better, because the tomatoes are picked at season prime and can be imported from your region of preference.

  8. Ok… So much to say! I love the Flatiron location, although it's completely touristy. But, I still have trouble going down by the WTC, so I've not been. Maybe this will get me down there. Anyway…
That cheese looks perfect, and that's aging!
You ordered my favorite pasta and pizza.
Those "leopard spots" should most certainly be there, but that pizza should be more firm.
There's a great spot by me in Queens that does wood fired pizza, you should come try!
Life is always hit or miss…. You're hitting it man! Thanks for another awesome review!

  9. That's sorta what you get for Neopolitan style pizza. It actually needs a bit of time to rest. Your pizza did seem like it fell apart on toppings.

  10. 0:00: 🍝 UA reviews the highly touted Italian restaurant chain, Italy, to see if it lives up to the hype.
3:31: ! The video discusses the quality of dried pasta, the availability of authentic flavors, and the impressive cheese section at the store.
6:58: 🍕 The YouTuber is at an Italian restaurant in Las Vegas or Atlantic City, enjoying the less crowded and less commercialized atmosphere, and sitting at the bar to watch the food being made.
10:04: 🍴 The fried calamari is freshly fried and has a good amount of squid inside, but the breading could be crunchier.
13:42: 🍕 The Neapolitan style pizza is not as good as expected, with a soggy crust and toppings that easily fall off.
16:47: 🍝 The pasta is a bit watery, but still good quality ingredients overall.
20:20: 👎 The canoli at Italy was stale and not crispy, but the sheep's milk filling was nice and fresh.

  11. Most Italian restaurants, and grocery stores, if not all, are all way too expensive..

  12. You know nothing about Neapolitan pizza. Neapolitan pizza is supposed to be like the way you ordered. Razza is NOT Neapolitan. It is a hybrid.

  13. Thankfully I live in South Jersey, 10 minutes from Phila. We have the best Italian delis and stores with phenomenal food at reasonable prices. The medigans will overpay in NYC because they are fools

  14. i like the before and after when you talk about how good the calamari is, then you realize theres NO MORE CALIMARI and its like… incredulous

  15. thats the way my basil looks in late summer and i throw it away, i mean, i dont think the basil gets that off-color from the pizza baking process

  16. Not impressed…especially with that pizza. Needed more time in the oven to crisp the bottom crust.

  17. For the price of a few store items and a dinner for 4 at Eataly, you could have booked a flight to the Campania region.

Then eat as a local, and stay in a cheap hotel.

  18. i was there february 2021, unfortunately at that time only the small shop was open.. so I never got to try the food..

  19. $11 dollars a lbs. for uncooked pasta? I just bought 1 lb. of fresh made Chinese noodles for $1.70, made locally.
I guess it costs, to be trendy. I got a Moto android phone for $120 dollars, drive a 4 banger Subaru, and wear Kirkland brand tees. At the brink of recession, it's good to economize.
