  1. The sopranos always had had these insightful moments in passing. Paulie's story wasn't a main focus of this episode, but those moments speak so much about the illusion that Jersey Shore-types have about what "Italian" identity is. Any second-generation American can relate.

  2. The natives being dismissive of Paulie because he is a tourist is the same way he would treat a tourist.

  3. FUN FACT: The guy who gave Paulie that condescending look when he greeted him in Italian was David Chase (writer/producer of The Sopranos).

  4. Oh now I noticed that that random smoking stranger sitting was the creator of The Sopranos

  5. I love how he respects the guy at desk because of what he said. Next shot he tells T a joke about the boss fucking a golf club 😂

  6. Paulie is such a hypocrite, he talks about rape of the culture in season one and then disrespects the Italians lol

  7. Just finished this episode and man whoever came up with those ending shots is brilliant. They didn’t say a thing in them but they still said more than words ever could.

  8. Basically every n-th generation American who says he's Whatever-American who goes to Europe, only to discover that the land of his ancestors is not just a big version of his small ethnic neighborhood at home.

  9. I'm American with Mexican parents and I've at least been to Mexico multiple times and know the langauge but lmao my future grandchildren? They'll be like Paulie, trying to order street tacos at churros at a restaurant.

  10. Another thing only Italians realize is why the two Italian mobsters didn't understand immediately what did Paulie want because "marinara" (also pronounced with American spelling and not with the Italian one ) in Italy is just a kind of pizza without cheese

  11. Wanna know the real irony? Drive north of Naples and the dilapidated post industrial scenery and concrete overpasses you see at the end here in Jersey, would make Paulie feel right at home 🤣

  12. Love how Paulie was having the time of his life and staring out all happy and then Chris is there who was totally zoinked out of his fuckin head the entire time

  13. Its a shame and embarrassment that Paulie is 100% Italian (have to be to be made) and doesnt even know how to order a pasta with tomato sauce in his mother tongue. My opinion, argue with your auntie.
