  1. It's a shame Cunard did not have the courage to create a Tour De Force of Old World Elegance but sold out and made an ugly ' Contemporary ' eyesore of which there are already many. Society is in a decline.

  2. Thanks, this was all very interesting. I am booked to be on Queen Anne's 7 nights cruise up to Norway in June. I am quite looking forward to it as it will be my first time on board a Cunard ship since 1983, when I crossed the Atlantic (for the first time) on board the Queen Elizabeth 2. I realise that I ought to try the Queen Mary 2, I did go aboard her before she sailed off on her maiden voyage but there was nothing about her that made me feel as though 'I had to sail on her.' As for the Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth, well they don't appeal to me at all. From what I have seen of their interiors they appear to be an uncoordinated mess of Victorian, Edwardian and Art Deco. I like the look of the interiors of Queen Anne though it could be that she will end up looking a little bit too much like most other modern cruise ships. So yes, Cunard does have a difficult task ahead to maintain their distinctive edge. I agree to some extent with the comment below that they 'lost it' once Carnival took over. Had Carnival not taken them over it would have been goodbye Cunard because at that time Cunard's owners really wanted to be rid of the company and it did not seem as though there was anyone else out there that would buy the company and Cunard just could not have survived on their own.

  3. Well, for the smokers there better be some some area like RCL on the Q.ANN. It's port side with windows and covered from those nasty days. On the QE2, my friend who is a smoker from the UK, said he would not book again since they had to experience very harsh weather crossing the Atlantic. He was in the Queens Grill on a 21 day voyage.

  4. its just another carnival cookie cutter designed ship with a different funnel…i'll stick with the QM2

  5. Sorry but CUNARD did NOT invent the Golden Age of travel! It was Albert Ballin of HAPAG who intoduced not only the first real Grand Hotels at sea with the AUGUSTA VICTORIA Class and then the first PALACE HOTELS with the IMPERATOR Class. NORDDEUTSCHER LLOYD was the 2nd with real Grand Hotels when they initiated the KAISER Class. Next step for real luxury was again Germany: HAMBURG SÜD with the CAP ARCONA and again the LLOYD with BREMEN ans EUROPA and not to forget the French FRANCE 2, PARIS, ILE DE FRANCE and the last word in oceanliner design: le NORMANDIE! Still THE benchmark for real luxury . . . never matched again till today!

  6. Another standard silly, top-heavy, not-made-for-weather cruise ship. Not a liner. Not Cunard style.

  7. I wonder how the Queen Anne compares to the QM2's hull strength with regard to the very rough seas of the transatlantic routes, as the QM2 was designed at the time with a very strong structurally designed thick steel hull measuring 38mm .

  8. From a look perspective I'm personally glad of the more contemporary approach – be rid of the old stuffiness, time to go – I might even travel on it (I never would have before).

  9. That’s one UGLY ship. It’s so UGLY, they should change the name from Queen Anne to Queen Camilla.

  10. These interiors look boring, bland, and generic. Like the same kind you could see on any cruise line. I do like some of the new features but i cannot get behind these new interiors.

  11. Great Video ! Thank You ! I’m booked to sail on Queen Anne in 2025. It will be her Maiden Transatlantic Voyage! I’m very excited and looking forward to the experience!! It will be my first maiden voyage. After all , how often can one be on a Cunard Maiden Transatlantic voyage ?!? In the past 87 years, only about seven times ! I’m a huge Cunard fan and enthusiast! I’ve sailed on the other three current Cunard ships. Each one is incredibly beautiful and elegant !!! So ••• I’m a little apprehensive about Queen Anne’s new “ MODERN “ interior design !! Cunard fans , I think choose the traditional Cunard Art Deco look because they prefer that to the interiors of other cruise lines. I personally love the beautiful wood panelling, bronze murals, etched glass and gorgeous polished metals !!! So classy and unique . A tribute to the great ocean liners of the Golden Age of transatlantic travel. Will the new look turn off most Cunard loyalists?!?! I hope Cunard hasn’t made a huge mistake ! We shall see !🤷‍♂️ I’ll check back with you in March 2025 ! Signed Apprehensive !!

  12. Queen Elizabeth was not named QE3 because there were only 2 Queen Elizabeth’s. QE 2 had already been used so new one was just QE. It’s a shame that they didn’t use King Charles 3 instead of Queen Anne! But that would not have fitted in with the Cunard Queens history. However Queen Anne was on the throne a very long time ago (1714) so not a great choice for a very modern ship!
We are booked on the maiden voyage, so can’t wait to check her out in May.

  13. Is it a "cruise ship" or an "ocean liner".. ?
Lines seem to be churning out cruise ships one after the other these days, each one in an attempt to out do the one that has gone before.
I like to think Cunard is a cut above the tourist type of cruise lines and I hope this new ship isn't going to be in that tourist mode.
The look of the two Queens that have followed on after QM2 all seem to be leaning toward that cruise line silhouette, i.e., superstructure towering high above a slimline hull whereas the balance on the QM2 of hull and superstructure is more easy on the eye.
I read a comment on YouTube a while ago that said the new cruise ships resemble container vessels in outline…. and I tend to agree.

  14. I doubt they would call Queen Elizabeth 3 as THE Queen Elizabeth-Regina was still alive and it would be disrespectful to her reign. Give that she launched it in 2010. thoughts?
