We start our Titan Travel Alaskan Deluxe Voyage by flying from Heathrow to Calgary in Canada and we stay in Banff for 3 nights. We explore Banff National Park including Bow Falls, Johnson Canyon and Lake Louise. We also sample some of Banff’s fabulous food and nightlife.
This is definitely one of the most spectacular places we have ever been to and spending time with Patreon Kevin was a highlight. We give you our first impressions of our Titan Travel escorted tour and Carole’s attempt at overcoming her fears of heights just doesn’t go to plan!

We booked a 16 night Titan Travel Alaskan Deluxe Voyage started with a land tour of Canada from Calgary to Vancouver including the Rocky Mountaineer and then a 7 night cruise on Holland America Konningsdam cruise ship to Alaska in July 2023.

You were amazingly brave Carol…fear of heights coupled with maybe vertigo is a very very real thing and needs to be taken seriously. Lucky for you you had a caring loving husband to help guide you through the ordeal…Again well done. Enjoy the rest of your visit to Canada!
We did the coast to coast tour with Titan a few years ago. Agree with you about Air Canada but the rest of the trip was amazing. Lake Louise and Moraine Lake were frozen over when we were there ( May). Love your vlogs and enjoy your trip.
Well done Carole, I hated seeing you so upset😢 because that's not you. We always see you so happy & jolly. Apart from that it looks like you had a good time. 👍
Wonderful video !! Beautiful !! Thank you !
Well done Carol, I would be the same, you should be very proud of yourself x
Brought back so many happy memories. In Banff we stayed in the Springs Hotel in a minuscule room, you did better at the Lodge. However we also stayed at the Fairmont Chateau at Lake Louise , it was fantastic in the early part of the day with no crowds. I admire your energy and well done for trying the cable car, Carole, but a real phobia is no joke.
Such Bravery.. we’re all proud of you!❤️❤️❤️❤️
You’re making me want to go to Canada again! We stayed at Johnston Canyon in one of the lodges on our Rockies road trip. We also kept using the word ‘Wow!’ 😊 Stunning scenery!
We done the titan holiday in 2919 it was our first time with Titan. We had the most amazing time
well done Carol, and Paul you were so good with Carol. I can cope with a Gondola but a ski lift no way now. Last time I was on one I had a panic attack and refuse to go on them now
Never heard you use the expression "Oh my God!" so often. Have you become Christians?
Firstly we both thought Carol was on form and hilarious in this episode. Loved the advice for if you are scared of cable cars – just don't do it 🤣 Clare has told me we have to go there now just so she can go to that restaurant 🤣 xx
Great intro to your Canada/Alaskan trip. Hard to watch your panic attack, but good Paul and others were there for support.
So glad you discovered our Canadian Caesar!
Fantastic vlog and I get the whole face your fears thing but sometimes you have to adapt and do what’s right for you.
The architecture and scenery is stunning and the food looked delicious albeit it did look fairly expensive?
You did well to get back into the Gondola to go down. Closing your eyes was a good tactic. Whatever makes you feel more relaxed as relaxing is the key. Such beautiful sights.
That must be the Stanley Hotel from the movie The Shining.
How beautiful and serene!
Great job Carole! Very proud of you and I know that must have been so hard.
I just wanted to hug you Carole!
oooh that cheesy bread! Not sure about the meats, but then the chocolate and strawberries! What a great idea!
My heart went out to you Carole. You were an absolute rock star!! A right shame that whistle stop at Lake Louise was so crowded and brief. Maybe you'll come back some day and visit at your own pace. Can't wait to see your impressions of Jasper next. My boy works at one of the lodges out there and loves it. everywhere you look is drop dead gorgeous.
If you enjoy amazing scenary, you really need to visit the South Island of New Zealand.
Looks like you had a great time in Banff! You’ve just scratched the tip of the glacier. Moraine Lake is in The Valley of the Ten Peaks, it is truly stunning in the shoulder seasons when the crowds aren’t quite so thick. Come back in winter or fall and stay up at the Chateau Lake Louise, it’s magical in winter when there is ice skating on the lake and it’s so quiet. The rates drop dramatically as well. Or better yet, Emerald Lake Lodge is gorgeous and very romantic. How did you fare with the smoke? It was an especially bad summer, it looks like you had decent sunny skies, although I noticed the smoke lingering behind you in some shots up at Johnson Canyon. I hope it didn’t ruin Jasper, it was pretty bad in northern Alberta (and still is 😢). I haven’t eaten at the Grizzly House in years, maybe it’s time to go back, it’s marvellous on a cold frosty day. That gondola is wonderful IF you don’t have fear of heights. Carole you are not alone, the fear is real and though the gondola is safe, it’s still quite nerve racking for many people. Bravo for trying! You can be really proud of yourself! Great video guys!
Carole, you did wonderfully. When we took the gondola my mum turned pea green, I think that was when she discovered her fear of heights. The gondolas held more than 4 people (I think either 12 or 20 people per car) and didn’t have seats. I was not quite 10 and my sister was 6. That was more than 50 years ago.
Well done Carol, you were so brave, I just wanted to give you a big hug after going through that. The scenery was amazing though, and well worth it 😊😊
Well done on Sulphur Mountain Carol – you did it! Next time you face something like that will be a little easier x
So glad I'm catching up but oh Carole I wanted to give you a hug, well done. Oh the French onion soup mmm😋 my favourite
What a great trip! Wonderful hotel. That Grizzly House event was not so much a meal as an experience, everything looked yummy. Carole I was heart-sorry for you as you were so distressed on that gondola trip. I did this tour in reverse, starting Vancouver ending in Banff. It was in Mid May and it SNOWED, I had to buy a coat. Lake Louise was frozen over and people were walking on the ice – I couldn't bear to watch. Jasper was quaint – deer walking down the street, and some of us went to the cinema to see Schindler's List (that's how long ago it was). Canada is brilliant, what stunning scenery. Really looking forward to your next instalment, watch out for the grizzlies. I love your videos, thank you for taking me along.
Beautiful footage from the gondola! I'm glad you got safely up and down the mountain!
What a magnificent place. The scenery is awesome. No wonder there’s so many tourists. Who wouldn’t want to visit Banff. Wish I could. Thanks for the tour. 😊
Oh wow! Now we really have to go to Canada more and explore!!! So so stunning!!
You did amazing Carole! That gondola was amazing but terrifying!!
Not to fret Carole, I also had a panic attack when I took submarine training and I had to use the escape hatch during ascent to the surface in the dark.
Really felt for you, Carole. You were really brave to face your fear of heights. I know you posted to show everyone your tour and commend you for including the scenes showing how the trip on the cablecar affected you. That also took great courage. Wishing you all the very best for your future travels, which hopefully will not be as traumatic.
We will be in Banff (and Jasper) in May24 and this video is fantastic with highlighting possible sights and eateries. Suffice to say, doubt if we will be taking that gondola, sharing Carole's extreme fear of hights. Thanks again for a great and humorous video.
Poor Carole. Props to you for facing your fears.
Well done Carole on facing your fear head on. Banff looks really nice and fun too.
Bless your heart, Carole! You’re such a good sport to even try the gondola ride. I will have to try a Caesar at some point. They looked delicious! Cheers!
We absolutely loved our trip to Banff. Glad you enjoyed it too.
