Botín Restaurant has kept the flame burning for the past 293 years … literally. Ever since the doors opened in 1725, the oven has been sizzling continuously, never to be extinguished. According to deputy manager Luis Javier Sànchez Alvarez, the oven is the crown jewel of the restaurant and the fundamental element of their most popular dish, the roast suckling pig. The recipes used today have been passed down from generation to generation, keeping the legacy of these traditional dishes alive. With the honor of being the oldest restaurant in the world, Alvarez hopes to keep the doors open for centuries to come.

Barnsboro Inn in NJ opened in 1720

That said it seems like that restaurant owner is unaware that there’s taverns that are much older
Wow….I'm so proud of you chef!
St Peter's Stifskulinarium in Austria is the oldest restaurant in the world. It's 1200 years old.

I'm surprised it hasn't accidentally burned down all these years with the fire burning when people left work.
Imagine trying dishes from 293 years
This restaurant is older than the United States
Sorry, the oldest restaurant in the world is St. Peter Stiftskulinarium, established year 803.
Y'all forgot poland opened a restaurant in 1275
Can I have proof of who specifically and how does it check with the oven? Just rofl.
You know the oven bit is interesting to me, like imagine one day where you have to be like, “uh boss, I forgot to put in the wood for the fire.”
The oldest is in Austria and opened in 803…
what a clickbait. its not even close to being the oldest. the oldest one is polish piwnica swidnicka opened in 1275
If someone puts out the oven flame i hope they get life in prison 🤣
Tradition should never die, maybe bend for the changing times. If I ever get to visit Spain, this place is definitely on my list of places to go.
Rip piglets
Spain is such a beautiful nation with rich history and beautiful culture
May Yahweh bless spain and spanish people
best regards from a pakistani
Would you rather eat here, or at a brand-new McDonald's??

I went there last year. Food is amazing and service incredible.
Worst video i have ever watched was about to vomit 🤮

*Proceeds to open the closed door of the restaurant in the 1st take of video"

One day I will be eating cochinillo, jamon and an old fine wine in this fine restaurant❤😊
amazing, hope to visit soon
Oldest one was in Austria St.Peter
Visited nearly 50 years ago when I was a young lad in the USAF. Our flight crew landed near Madrid, and our plane commander solicited all of us to accompany him summer of 1976. Quite an adventure for a young teen.
I think I watched this video very early on, when it came out. Always fancied going there but didn't think anything would come of it. What do you have it – I ended up going to Europe for college, happened to visit Madrid, and there you go – I visited Botín in May 🙂 Funny where life takes you! One day you're watching a YouTube video in middle school, and then some other day… this happens
0:53 yeah that’s pretty old school.

I went last year ago and food is amazing. The guy on the video is lovely.
Hurts my heart to see those tiny baby pigs.😢
Honke Owariya is 558 years old & still in operation… Japan has a few hundred yrs on Espana in this regard, but both are one of a kind!
i feel ill lookingat those cooked baby suckling pigs awful sight
This is not even the oldest restaurant I have been to this week 😠
Went there over the weekend. Surprisingly I preferred the baby lamb. The pig was lovely though. Great food, great wine, great atmosphere and even better company
Pig meats is far worse than dog meat. Pig is dirtiest animal in the world. That is why it is forbidden to eat in islam. It does not sweat much so its toxins are in its fat and its muscles are full of toxins.
